Dell's delivery partner DPD regularly…

Dell's delivery partner DPD regularly lies and refuses to deliver to the desired location. So I'm forced to have orders delivered to an entirely different place.

When trying to change the delivery address, I've been inundated with the same repeated request for the new delivery address (provided 5 times to date and even included in the email chain they send to me requesting new delivery address). 25 emails later and they're still asking for the delivery address. Beyond incompetent.

Bad sales and support practices

Have an Inspiron 5700 laptop that I've never had an issue with, other than having to replace a worn out power cord a couple of years back. Recently though, the battery flatlined, it reached its end of life. Thankfully, Dell Ireland have replacements in stock for a reasonable price, so jumped in and ordered one.

It arrived a couple of days ago, brand new, exact battery I required. I installed it, saw it was at 19%, let it drain to 1% and then put in the power cord to charge. After 2hrs it had reached 90%. 3hrs later, it was still at 90%.

I opened the receipt email from the order, followed the support link, explained the problem and that I'd need a replacement. A day later I received a reply telling me that this i need to open a case with Technical Support.

This is not a technical issue, this is a sales issue. They sold a faulty item, it's within the window where a company should be dealing with this as a sales issue, not making their customer jump through 100 hoops to get a technical support case open. If I get no satisfaction in next few days I'll be taking this to external parties, not good service from Dell.

The miserable excuse for a company awarded me gold stars for being fobbed off so easily and not bothering them,

The company beggars belief.
I tried to get help from their site for my now out of warranty laptop that has taken a dislike to Win 11

They gave no help whatsoever, the chatbot was geared up for the responses it was programmed for, not real life and I couldn't even access their user forums to post my problem despite using their site for other Dell PC's for decades.
The sick, stupid frustrating game they play beggars belief. I have been awarded gold stars or some other garbage according to an email. They play bloody stupid childish games, but no longer want to support their junk, and it is junk when it fails to function, there is no other description.

Their gear is not cheap, I always thought the premium was tied in with quality and back up. It isn't.

I will never, ever buy another Dell product.

Stay away from Dell laptops

I bought a laptop from dell. After 2 weeks, the charging cable became frayed. I had guessed that would happen as soon as I saw that the USB plug was straight when it should have had a 90 degree angle to deal with the weight of the cable.
After a couple of months, at the library, I close my laptop while I go looking for a book. When I open it, the top left hand side of the screen is black! I bring it to a repair shop where they tell me that the screen is damaged. Obviously, the screen was faulty as that laptop was not mishandled.
I contact Dell knowing in advance they probably would deny a repair under warranty. Indeed, I explain the issue, the poor girl on the other side goes through the motions, trying to get me to send me to a dxdiag despite me telling her that it is a hardware, not a software issue. She finally asks me to send a photo.
I do so and. sure enough. I get a reply stating that the issue is physical (duh!) and therefore not covered by the warranty but they offer to repair it for .... € 345.69!!! Almost the cost of the laptop. For the next month, Dell spams me with emails urging me to take advantage of the quote. For info: this is only € 100 less than the price of the whole laptop. Add to that the sending cost, I can buy a new laptop for less than the price of the repair of the screen.
Of course, having the laptop repaired elsewhere also means that the warranty will be cancelled. Anyway, I went to 2 repair shops and both told me that screen repairs generally cost between € 100 and €150 ... before trying to buy the screen from Dell and being quoted €320! We are speaking about a basic screen on a basic laptop.
So, I tell you what they told me: STAY AWAY FROM DELL their laptops are flimsy and the cost of their parts is simply extortionate. For info, all my other laptops lasted for years and only had to be replaced when the battery became weak.
I bought another HP laptop since: all good.

Terrible customer service from Dell

Terrible customer service from Dell. I had an issue with my PC and spent weeks chatting to different customer service agents but with no resolution. No accountability, no clear answers, and zero urgency to help. Buyer beware – if you need support, don’t expect any from Dell. Finally, I’m sure they are incorrect regarding advice around customer rights.

Alienware AW2725DF Monitor

Contrary to a lot of reviews here, I had the opposite experience with Dell. I purchased an Alienware gaming monitor at the start of the year and recently I've noticed some marks on the screen which looked like bubbles under the screen. Tried to clean them off but to no avail.

I sent an e-mail to customer service Sunday night, more so asking for information rather than warranty work. Monday morning they replied asking for some more information and some pictures. Sent them the relevant information Monday night. Tuesday morning they replied again saying a new monitor will be shipped to me. Lo and behold, Wednesday morning at 9:30 UPS delivers the new monitor, with the old one to be collected in the next few days.

Haven't encountered this level of service anywhere so kudos to Dell. I may be in a minority here but this has definitely swayed me towards Dell products in the future.

Cannot complain.

Faulty inspiron no refund! Scammers

Ordered an inspiron laptop 22nd September 2024. Received 5th October. Had fan fault error within a couple of days. Didn't get a chance to contact support as I was really busy with work until 27th October. They wrongly told me I could not get a refund because it was outside 30 days from purchase date! Eh what ? Is that a legal thing to say ? They are trying to push a service but why should I have to get something refurbished / fixed when I paid for a brand new laptop ? Support are all over the place. Take ages between messages. Keep repeating the same thing asking for the same information multiple times. Information they should have access to. Just time wasting trying to make you so frustrated that you give up.

Unacceptable Service and Disregard for…

Unacceptable Service and Disregard for Customers - A Warning to Potential Buyers

I am compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience with Dell Technologies in the hope that others can avoid the same ordeal. I purchased a Mobile Precision Workstation 3581 BTX (Order Number: 1002400106) on March 7, 2024, for €1823, expecting a top-quality product and reliable customer service. Unfortunately, what I received was far from acceptable.

Here are the key points of my experience:

Initial Purchase and Delivery:
Ordered on March 7, 2024
Delivered on March 14, 2024
Order total: €1823

Repair Process:
Shortly after receiving the laptop, I encountered an issue and sent it for repair, which was received by Dell on March 21, 2024.
The laptop was returned to me on April 2, 2024, in a shockingly poor condition – damaged and packaged in a shoebox. Despite the repair, the initial issue persisted.

Ongoing Struggle:
As of today, July 8, 2024, I am still without a functional laptop, and have been battling with Dell for almost three months to get what I paid for – a new and undamaged laptop.
The laptop has been out of my possession for most of this time, with Dell providing no satisfactory solution.
After sending the laptop for repair again, I received an email stating the issue was resolved, but I have not received the laptop. Today, I got another message claiming my system is at the repair center, mirroring a message I received on June 11, 2024, without any actual progress.

Throughout this ordeal, Dell has demonstrated a complete disregard for customer satisfaction. The notion that they are doing me a favor by returning a damaged laptop in a shoebox is beyond insulting. I paid for a new, fully functional laptop and expect nothing less.

Given the repeated failures and lack of resolution, I have demanded a full refund and will take legal action if this issue is not resolved promptly. I will also share my experience on social media to highlight the disgraceful service provided by Dell.

In conclusion, based on my experience, I would strongly advise against purchasing from Dell. Their customer service is severely lacking, and their handling of repairs and customer issues is unacceptable. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.

Order Number: 1002400106
Dell Purchase ID: 7400005331813
Repair Center Work Order: 451654681

I hope this review helps potential buyers make an informed decision.

Sincerely,

Bad customer service

Bad customer service
I contacted Dell (via chat) with a view to making a purchase. The agent asked if I would like to receive a transcript after the call and I said yes. I had found the item cheaper on another web site. I let the customer rep know and provided the link. The agent checked and verified the link. She then told me she would have to get approval from a manger and they would email me at the email address I provided. I asked how long that would take and she said the sales team would email me within two hours and I thanked her.
I never received any further communication. No transcript, no email from the sales team.
No interest in the customer or the sale, apparently

My son bought a laptop last august and…

My son bought a laptop last august and paid €2400.on the 18th of February it stopped working,he contacted Dell customer services and they emailed him back that I would be picked up in a few days,
I have been speaking to a few guys who were not that helpful and last Thursday I again rang to ask why the laptop wasn’t picked up.
They then said that they would send out an engineer on-site buy on the Friday the laptop was picked up,I rang Friday to let them know that it was picked up and to cancel the on-site engineer but the guy rang me Monday 12th to say he was on the way.
The laptop is in another country now and the engineer is not going to be here unto the 29th of March,my son has his exam next week and is the only one in the class that won’t have his laptop.
This has just been a complete shambles and the level of customer care is one of the worst we have received from one of the biggest companies in the world.

Battery for Dell laptop. Total disaster

I ordered a battery for my Dell laptop from Dell on the 15th November 2023. Since then I have had 3 delays for the delivery of same, and today I discovered that it has been delayed by a further 2 weeks (4th time) without any notification. What is the point of purchasing a Dell laptop if you can't get spare parts when they are needed? It is sad to see a once great company turn into an incompetent mess.

Update: I received a further delay from dell. I have now had to cancel the order because it seems like this order is never going to be fulfilled. Let's see how quickly I get my refund.

I ordered a Dell XPS PC and they sent out the wrong software

I ordered a Dell XPS Computer the specification showed Windows 11 Pro. When the invoice arrived it showed Windows 11 Home.I have been battling with Dell regarding replacing the PC but because I used my business Bank Card you can't return the unit. I have contacted Sales, Tech and customer support a they were not interested in sorting this issue out. They just kept making excuses. The PC still has not been fully opened from its courier box in the hope that I could get this resolved. But alas to date no progress. I did a review for Dell and they sent an email with a response. However, the link just takes you back to their website

Series of errors

My reason for a two is that the service company ITC, used by Dell in Ireland, have been helpful. Otherwise, I would have given a 1.

1. Called Dell service after my 5-month-old Dell Precision 5820 Tower wouldn't boot. They recorded the wrong service tag despite the operative reading it back to me correctly. Somehow, they didn't notice that the tag didn't match the express service code. Tech on the phone said 'power supply or motherboard' - but then decided it was a power supply issue.

2. I noticed the mistake on the service request confirmation. Called and spoke to another tech who cancelled the ticket and rescheduled. I raised the fact that it might be a motherboard (by this time, I'd checked the Dell diagnostic power light codes online) - but was ignored.

3. One week later, I called for an update - apparently, the engineer had tried to call - but had the wrong phone number. (The correct number was showing on the service emails). I was assured that the service company would ring me the same day. Nothing.

4. Two days later sent me a service date for seven, days after I made the call above.

5. I waited on the phone 25 minutes only to be connected to Dell Israel, who could not help - telling me that I must have called the wrong number. I called the same number again and luckily it was answered immediately. A call was booked for the next day.

6. The call: The engineer was a nice guy but got very frustrated on the phone when I was trying to direct him to my office - he spoke very little English. (To be fair I'm in a rural location that is difficult to find - Google Maps doesn't help). He brought the power supply. The problem is the Motherboard!

7 Now two weeks from the initial service request - no sign of the motherboard!

If the service desk had listened to me regarding error codes, this would have been resolved at least seven days ago. In the meantime, it's costing both Dell and myself time and money.

Great machine (when it's working). Shame about the service.

Nightmare with Dell

Dell is a nightmare to deal with, bought a lap top from them just a few months ago and it has already stopped working. Service vists arranged and cancelled in a matter of a few hours, no join up between call centre in India (very hard to understand some staff there) and the service team. The whole experience is a nightmare. I will never buy a product from them again and at this stage I want my money back and I will go elsewhere.

Don’t ever buy from this company!!!

Don’t ever buy from this company again. They made me hand deliver a complaint letter and nothing was ever done.

I purchased my dell laptop in March 22.

I had several issues that I would like to make a FORMAL complaint about especially given the nature how new my device is and also in my opinion the lack of response I have received since I brought this to Dells attention. ( I wrote this in june/ july of 2022)

- When initially trying to log a complaint on either the 13 or 14th of June 2022 I was met by severe persuasion not to log a complaint ( please check the call recordings ) . This in of itself was very shocking to me for a company as large as Dell. And when I mentioned the route of a replacement for my laptop I was ‘somewhat’ dismissed. I had to push this issue and tell the people I was talking to that I wanted a formal complaint logged and a reference number. Even getting the reference number was difficult. I also had to ask for an estimate timeframe of an acknowledgment of my complaint. Which eventually I was told was an email confirmation. The email did not at all reflect the issues I raised.
- I then was told on WhatsApp that the reference number I had was related to my complaint and the service issues. ‘

I have email an Abundance emails and service tags etc to back this up.

I eventually received a replacement laptop ( I had a full warranty)
My complaint was basically dismissed entirely though.

Dell Help Desk Disaster

Bought a Dell laptop before Christmas and have been unable to get assistance from Dell ‘customer care’ to resolve a simple issue with connecting it to my Dell printer. The online help desk just keeps me going around in circles, not answering my query. I spent an hour today being given the runaround on the phone by three different ‘assistants’ who had no answer to my simple question. Finally left them my phone contact details, but no contact back from them. Thame my word, if you are not a expert in IT under no circumstances should you go near a Dell product.
