Delta put through a ticket change and…
Delta put through a ticket change and debited my credit card. Then put another transaction through. Result: 3 calls to their customer service centers, holding up to 3 hours each. Eventually got through. Their call back doesn't work for international numbers (are they really a global airline?). Because of 2 transactions, my credit card reported it for fraud. 2 hours on their hold until I spoke to the fraud department, told them and they agreed not to block the card. Run-in at check-in as their computer system assumes that non-US international travellers cant travel without a return ticket - I was going to leave the US after a family visit and return via a third country to the UK, so only needed a single segment. Told to buy a return ticket or they wouldnt let me on the plane. The agent was officious and unwilling to listen, quoting that the "computer said this". The Comfort Plus seat, on an international flight, was an old worn economy seat. The screen stopped working and I was told the battery had run out (really?!). Toilet was miniscule, and almost unable to perform in a sanitary manner. Giving a star however, for good air operations, communicative pilots and efficient cabin crew. Will go back to using United or American in future.
Unless you don't mind waiting on hold for hours...
I just called several other airlines. They came on within five minutes. Delta put me on hold for two hours. I will do whatever I can in the future to have nothing to do with Delta.
Delta's delays give me panic attacks
My flight was delayed 5 hours before departure, making me miss my connecting flight also on Delta. Nobody contacted me. I called Delta. The first time, the computer hung up on me after 41 seconds. The second time after 2 minutes the computer asked me to rate the last person who had helped me, except nobody had helped me. Then it hung up on me. The third time, it offered help via text. I entered my info. Nothing happened. Twenty minutes later, an agent texted me back. She was able to re-route me via a third city so I now arrive 4 hours later. No compensation was offered. Ok, so I'm all set. Then, hilariously, I receive a text saying my delayed flight is delayed another hour and a half. Fortunately, it might not make me miss my connecting flight. I have my fingers crossed. As I was going through TSA getting ready for three legs of flight, the woman next to me had a direct flight to my destination on a different airline. I explained what had transpired. She said, "Yeah, I heard Delta had a lot of schedule changes." I will avoid booking via Delta in the future. Saving a few dollars is not worth this hassle. P.s. I explained to customer service that Delta could proactively contact customers whose flight connections were broken by Delta's delays. She explained to me that delays and changes are common in air travel and "life in general". It sounds like the Delta culture accepts this performance.
Unsafe at any speed
Unsafe at any speed. I'm a pilot, and I know a lot about aircraft maintenance. I would never in a million years fly, or let my family fly on Delta. Take that for what it's worth.
Delta used to be good
Delta used to be good. Used to be known as the company with the best customer service. I don't know what's gone wrong recently but now they are HORRIBLE. Now, you wait on hold for 6 hours just for them to have an attitude and refuse to help you. I had ecredit from a cancelled flight. After 6 hours, I spoke to an agent who refused to help me. I called back in the next day after being on hold for 5 hours. This agent told me I'd be able to use the ecredit. I booked my ticket a week later and of course, the ecredit never went through. Now Ive been on hold for 4 hours again today just to be told nothing is going to be done. Rude customer service. No communication. Delta has just gone downhill sadly.
on wait for 4hrs don't fly with delta
The actual flights are great, but good luck if you need to talk to an agent!
The actual flights are great; once on board, everything is peachy. BUT good luck trying to contact Delta. The other day, I opted to have a rep call me back within 24 hours. No one ever called. Right now, I have kept my text open because I opted to text with an agent. It's been 6 hours, and I keep getting texts saying we will get a specialist to you when we can, and we apologize for our unusually long wait times. THIS IS HORRIBLE SERVICE. I am trying to get on a specific flight to help escort my elderly parents home from West Palm Beach to Detroit. I cannot do this online because their flight does not show up. I need to talk to a rep, and it is impossible right now to do so. What is this?
Won't fly with this airline
So apparently it is unacceptable to have people show ID to vote in Georgia according to Delta, but it's OK to have to show ID to get on a plane. I will not be flying with Delta. I have a brother who travels extensively for work and he will not be flying with this "woke", hypocritical airline either. Do CEO's want to bankrupt their companies by coming out with these political statements?

Delta lying about waiving cancelation fees
Like so many others, Delta Air Lines also published on their website that their top priority is the health and safety of their clients blablabla… Therefore they would not charge any cancelation or change fees during the Chinese coronavirus outbreak. They did indeed waive the change fee but when rebooking the business class fare was 2.5 times more expensive for the same flight. Understand this correctly: the fare was 2.5 times more expensive when rebooking, but not when booking a new flight on that same date. For a new booking the fare was the same as for the original booking. So I canceled. Instead of waiving the cancelation fee as promised on their website, they charged a US$350 cancelation fee. Hypocritical crooks! No more booking with Delta. Ever.
Over and above customer service
My flight from the Bahamas to Boston got in early on March 15th. I was scheduled for an over three hour wait but I noticed an earlier flight to my next destination of Raleigh-Durham. I asked if I could be put on the earlier flight, and although I did not have a flexible ticket, a supervisor made the switch. I was thus able to get to my hotel early enough to switch to a better room and pick up some supplies before stores closed. THANK YOU Delta!!

Ridiculous lack of customer service..
Wow, talk about getting the run-around. We had booked 2 flights through Westjet (as serviced by DELTA) to Washington D.C. to see my sick father-in-law. We had a meager 3.5 days to handle several crucial legal and health matters related to his care (this was all we could afford to take from work). Our connecting Delta flight was cancelled due to a mechanical issue. Needless to say we spent several hours in limbo waiting to hear when the next connecting flight would be arriving. It ended up that the soonest flight to connect us to D.C. would mean spending the night sleeping in airports and we would lose almost 24 hours in total from our trip- which was NOT a feasible option. So we ended up renting a car and driving down to D.C. from Toronto (it was a LONG drive, but it still shaved off well over half a day). We called Delta and Westjet right away to cancel our connecting flights to D.C. and were told by 2 Delta agents that we could reasonably expect a refund due to it being the Airline's error. After more than 6 phone calls between Delta AND Westjet, they kept passing the buck and saying it was the other's fault (what is this - recess at the schoolyard ?). What an utter waste of time. And no refund, no sympathy or apology even for the issue. I will think twice before making ANY booking through Delta or Westjet since they clearly do not care whatsoever about customer service, they were not even willing to liaise with one another to handle/resolve the issue. Terrible customer service - and it was already a massively inconvenient situation !
Square deal
You get what it says on the box domestically. Internationally competent. All good.
Avoid DELTA Airlines!!!
I strongly recommend that you avoid Delta airline if possible!!!
I was traveling with my child from Phoenix to Copenhagen and I had an awful experience with Delta airlines.
I had 2 tickets (my child 4 y.o. and me) with 23kg (approx 50 lb) each. Because I was traveling alone with a small child i have decided to pack everything in one checking luggage. When I checked in, my luggage was 54lb, and i proceed to drop off. After 30min wait, the lady there ( Teresa Murray) told me that the luggage is 56lb and i need to pay 95USD for overweight. I told her that I have paid for 2 x 23kg and she told me that i need to check 2 bags or pay the 95 usd. I wanted to repack my hand luggage and check it in, but she told be that I need to go back in line. I had no chance to get in time for the plane, not to mention the tired 4 y.o. child at 5AM.
I told her that it is extortion and that the scale is not correct. She was rude and told me that it is not true.
After I paid 95USD we could get on the plane to New York.
At the airport I could see that i am seated away from my child and if I wanted to seat to my 4 years old child I had to pay 55USD more!!! Again, I paid a full price tickets from Europe, I travel quite often, and never had experienced such a rude and extort attitude from an airline. After talking to 3 persons and pointing Delta's rules for travel with children, I got seated by my child!
I really think Delta should try to educate the people working for the company.
Kind regards
