DestinationSkin has its ups and downs

DestinationSkin has its ups and downs. While some staff, like Dr. Alexa at Muswell Hill, are skilled and helpful, customer service inconsistencies across branches, such as at Basingstoke, and policies like the strict 72-hour cancellation rule, can be frustrating. Despite some hiccups, their professional treatments make it worth considering, though improvements in service would go a long way.

I had been a valued customer for 7…

I had been a valued customer for 7 years, and i have to say in the last 2 years it has become appaling. The service, staff are just not as good as before. It progressed after covid and the rapid changeover of staff at the maddox street branch made me feel uncomfortable as i was always seen by someone new. Lastly, the manager spoke so rudely to me that it put me off completely to continue my treatments with them. I would not recommend them at all.

I want to talk about the worst…

I want to talk about the worst experience i had at DestiantionSkin at Muswell Hill!
I went for some peelings which the staff made me sure that i will get really good results but you cant imagine what a horrible infection cause to my skin that i had to get antibiotics for several months !
The thing that makes me angry is the fact that the clinic never contacted me back , they were always telling me that not to worry as the manager of the clinic will incestigate but after 2 years still nothing from them back ! I also got pictures and all proofs that after paying so much money i got worst than what i had ( nothing to worry i just didnt like my texture of the skin so want it to improve it) thats why i went there!

Awful company

Awful company
Great staff hence 2 starts
Staff are lovely however this company should be ashamed. Complete waste of time with lack of information when making a booking, long wait times to actually speak to someone and bad policies all around including 72h cancellation policy which is outrageous. You lose treatments that are pre paid if not used within a year if you buy 8 package how are you meant to use it by the time it gets removed of your account?

Poor service, wrong advice, rude and unprofessional behaviour

Following my previous review related to the poor service received for laser hair removal, SK:N Clinics requested me to provide them with the email trail that demonstrates the poor service, wrong advice and unprofessional behaviour that I have received so they can resolve the issue and give me a refund. I provided them with this and I asked them and the manager of the Birmingham Clinic (16 Lower Temple Street B2 4JD) many times for the issue to be escalated further and to provide me with a refund. However, the customer service and the manager of the Birmingham Clinic does not respond to my emails. The manager called me on phone as she wants to avoid communication in writing as she has not fair arguments and she said that they can refund me an amount which is much less than the one that I have paid. During this call it was clear that they cannot even see the amount paid per customer. This is ridiculous as this can be demonstrated through bank statements. Of course, I didn't accept this and I confirmed that I can provide a bank statement. I also asked her to contact me only via email (and reply to my previous emails) as I want all the communication in writing. However, she never replies to my emails. I have never seen such a rude and unprofessional behaviour!

AVOID

I would honestly stay clear of the Muswell Hill branch. The manager is unbelievably rude and unprofessional.

Botox was cheap and did not work.

Good treatments but pushy upselling

I attended the Maddox Street clinic in London. The treatments are well done and quite effective. The staff are pleasant and the skin peels I had were well administered and had good results. I did find them quite little pushy in terms of upselling, particularly wanting me to purchase upwards of £300 in additional products on a £150 course of treatments (including a suncream and moisturiser when I had made it clear I was happy with my current products). Cost of recommended treatments was not made clear unless I asked explicitly. I also bought a retinol product for which they charged me £80 but retails on the brand's own website at £57.

When I cancelled an appointment, this wasn't processed properly and I was chased up multiple times for not complying with their cancellation policy, even though I had done so.

It's a shame because the actual treatments are good, but the upselling in particular eroded trust and made me look elsewhere. In particular I would not recommend buying products from them, but go directly to the retailer if you are tempted by something.

this skin condition is clearly in our family genes and i did not want my 13 year old daughter experiencing bullying that i was subjected to throughout my childhood.
so being a lover of 'our' high streets i tried Destination Skin as my first port of call. Iryna, the therapist treated my daughter professionally and sympathetically, but most importantly explained the cause of the problem. we left with the recommended products and within 4 months the acne has 98/99% gone, as a father i would highly recommend this establishment wholeheartedly to anybody with any skin concerns.

I have been to the Muswell Hill branch…

I have been to the Muswell Hill branch twice for electrolysis to remove the thread veins on my face and also cherry spots on my chest. The experience was great and I am really delighted with the results

Lovely place with excellent staff who not what they are doing!

I went for a hydrafacial and was greeted warmly at reception and offered water. My technicial Chloe was very helpful and explained the process really well. She was also honest and explained about other treatments which would benefit me more. During the treatment she explained all the steps properly so I knew exactly what was going on! Not only was she helpful but also very friendly and polite. Will definitely be booking the recommended treatment plan she gave! Destination skin is easy to find, just a few shops away from the post office

Extremely disappointing - waste of time and money

I went to DS Bristol for an electrolysis consultation for my face (PCOS). I know my skin and my hair type which is fair and the technician still recommended laser after inspection under the light. I went with her "expertise" and payed for a course of 10 laser treatments (which is a LOT of money for me) because I was sick of plucking daily.

Shaving for the first time was really scary to me initially but it did help improve my skin health overall however I did have to do it daily/every other day. Over the months the hair became slightly less noticeable but I could feel the regrowth stubble which I hate.

My technician throughout was nice and we got on well (not the same technician who I had the consultation with) but I never found out what setting she was using and to be honest I think I could have take a much higher one due to my skin type and pain threshold. She could have asked me this each time and I was always really surprised how quick the laser session was, too quick perhaps. I also think you should encourage clients to stretch the skin so that more hairs are targeted in the chin area much like what they do with the upper lip.

At the end of my course of 10, we caught up and I said I could still feel the regrowth which really bothered me, and she said that my hair might have a blonde root so isn't picked up by the laser (which I knew and told my consulting technician but was told otherwise). So she then suggests electrolysis! What a mess around and waste of my money and time. And surprise surprise the electrolysis prices have gone right up so I'm left wondering if this is happening often. She also said I needed another consultation to examine the hair and would have to grow the hair our on my face for 4 weeks! 4 weeks!
If you suffer from PCOS 4 weeks of hair growth on your face is the stuff of nightmares and she just shrugged it off and said "at least you can wear a mask".

So now thanks to the "expertise" of DS I now have to shave daily and am currently looking for cheaper, more effective electrolysis elsewhere.

Would never recommend, I'm so disappointed I wasn't listened to.
Ineffective. Money grabbing. Waste of time.

Where do I start… DO NOT USE THEM

Where do I start…

I booked my treatment in July last year where I was reluctant at start as I felt pressured into buying my treatment from the general manager David. But I went ahead anyway as I really was keen to improve my confidence and starting with my teeth was the first step.
I got sent my braces in September after waiting 7 weeks but was told 3/4 when I brought them originally.

In September I got covid and was in hospital, so I was unable to wear my braces and I didn’t tell this company as the last thing on my mind was to contact destination smile during this time. I felt like my teeth had moved and I got sent replacement braces. The replacements did not fit and when I went to tell customer service all I got was abuse. I got made to feel bad because I didn’t tell them I stopped wearing them, during when I had COVID pretty badly.
I then had to pay more for replacements, but it wasn’t that easy I had to constantly try to communicate with the customer service team on email because guess what… this company does not accept phone calls?!
I’ve had about no joke 400 emails with this company going back and fourth about everything. They sent more a further 2 replacements that didn’t fit my teeth but for some reason I was constantly told it was my fault. I even showed the dentist and she even said the braces were not nave correctly. So then a month ago I finally got through to the general manager to talk things and express my anger to the company. By this point I’ve spent £500!?
I was meant to have a dentist appointment to have new scans to get new braces because I was sent in total 3 braces that didn’t fit me.. but for some reason it’s my fault.

I have now been told they will no longer give me treatment. So I’ve spent £500 plus and wasted no joke hours and hours of my time being stressed talking to simple minded people for no reason at all.
I am only writing this so nobody makes the mistake I made and buying treatment from the company.
The fact they don’t have a telephone number to ring just says it all.

Nantwich clinic for laser hair removal

I have been under going laser hair removal at the clinic in Nantwich. The service is fantastic and the ladies always very polite. I have had 4 of my 8 sessions and can honestly say I am over the moon with the results. I am very dark haired and my hair grows back very quickly (stubbly by night fall). The treatment has been a life changer for me. Going from shaving every day with ingrown hairs and rash to not shaving at all. 12 weeks and not a razor has been near my legs or bikini line.
Hopefully the results will last and 5 stars will be given.

I’ve always had a really good…

I’ve always had a really good experience with these guys. I get Botox and fillers from them and everything looks really natural (or at least I think so…). Sometimes I think maybe I should go somewhere more high end but then I think why-have always had good results with them.

Let down before even getting a booking!

I emailed for a free consultation, as per the website, at the Haywards Heath branch & was called today from the booking service, I explained that I hadn’t had any treatment before & didn’t know what was suitable for me, she then wanted a deposit of £50 only refundable against treatment, not exactly a free consultation. The very impersonal nature of this call made be doubt the quality of the clinic & it put me off any treatment with them, perhaps more care less money grabbing would make potential clients feel more at ease.

So glad I decided to take the plunge with Botox!

I was very lucky to get an appointment with Dr. Toni Phillips who just happened to lucky for me have a cancellation.

I really enjoyed the consultation and felt totally comfortable to immediately decide to get Botox for around my eye and forehead area. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable and quick procedure! I was a little nervous at the beginning but Dr. Phillips made me feel totally comfortable. I would highly recommend going to see her and look forward to other treatments in the future.
