Very professional service

I have had many appointments at DestinationSkin over the years and their service has been consistently excellent. The staff are professional and skilled in what they do. They are friendly and make you feel comfortable and safe. I have recommended them to friends many times. For me it is the only beauty salon I would use.

Very happy - Despite the pandemic

The reception staff and practitioners are all very friendly and knowledgeable. Sadly, during the pandemic I have had three follow up appointments cancelled, which I realise is absolutely no fault of theirs.
I am really looking forward to getting back on track with my treatments and they have been proactive in reinstating appointments.
All the treatments I have had so far, I have been more than happy with. They listen and also advise.

Laser hair removal

I booked three sessions for laser hair removal but the pandemic has affected my appointments so I am not really happy with result I have got so far and this was the worst experience I have ever had.

Brilliant Service

I’m so happy with my results. Hydrafacial and Laser hair removal services are excellent and they all worked for me. I would recommend that to everyone. Staffs from Manchester Destinationskin are so friendly and professional especially Amy is my favourite one. Thank you ladies!

Disappointing service.

I booked a consultation for laser hair removal on the face. Although the staff member that did the consultation was lovely, she clearly did not have any experience in treating darker skin types. I was not filled with confidence and felt that she was giving mixed messages about the outcome of laser hair removal on my face during the patch test. At one point she said it would work and then later saying it probably wouldn’t work. However she still went ahead to quote me £712 (!!) for 8 sessions. I’m shocked that this is the price for something that might not even work! Daylight robbery. They didn’t even offer any further discount for me as a frontline NHS staff member. I’m very disappointed.

Excellent service

Excellent service. Very happy with results. Laser remove hair are brilliant it's work. I would recommend that to everyone. Staffs from Weybridge Destinationskin are positive environment and honest, trust. Its safe. They are good listen and understand. Have been there for much time. No problem.

Awful experience

I’m not one to usually write reviews, but I’ve had such a bad experience with this company.
Started in October 2019 for laser hair treatments on my face. I initially went in for electrolysis but was persuaded to go for laser as it ‘works much better’. I was then upsold laser on my bikini line as a package. I was happy with my bikini line but noticed no difference on my face. It has since been confirmed to me by another professional that laser is not suitable for hair removal on the face and that I was right to ask for electrolysis initially.
My treatments were halted due to the pandemic, my bikini line was fine, but the hair on my face grew as if it had never been treated. After finding it almost impossible to get through to them after the first lockdown, I requested a refund for the remaining treatments on my face, seeking electrolysis elsewhere. They said they don’t do refunds and offered to give me the remaining money in products or treatments.
Since it seemed like it was going to be a hassle to get my money back, I accepted the offer of an alternative treatment. Ahead of the alternative l treatment I was given a patch test. The patch test was carried out by a woman who exclaimed ‘WOW’ at the immediate results from the laser. It was clear that she had never carried out the treatment before. I have now got a scar from the patch test from September 2020 – I have had it confirmed by another professional that laser is not the first and best solution for the problem they offered the treatment for (leg vein removal – please go to a specialist for this).
When I complained about the patch test, I was given nothing but excuses. I was told that the scar would ‘disappear by itself after a couple of months’. There was no apology and no understanding of the fact that I would have to live with the ugly mark for those months. No real remedy was offered and the mark is still there.
They are now trying to make me sign a form to say that I accept a refund of the money ‘as a good will gesture’ for treatments I haven’t received as a ‘full and final settlement’ of my complaint to them. They are basically telling me they will not give me MY money back until I agree not to sue them.
The treatment I have received and the difficulty I’ve had to obtain a full refund has been nothing short of shocking. Rather than doing the right thing, they immediately got litigious to cover their backs and I feel like they have tried to wear me down rather than remedy the situation properly. The customer care and consideration has been awful. They clearly only care about the money.
Destination skin is a huge company and has a responsibility to carry out safe treatments, give accurate advice, and remedy issues properly when they arise. It shouldn’t be this hard for me to get a refund, not only after treatments that haven’t worked, but after they’ve scarred me…
I will be reporting this issue to Trading Standards and urge anyone who has had similar issues with this company to do the same.

Laser hair removal break in treatment due to COVID

I booked a laser hair removal course last year in February at Destination skin Muswell Hill but sadly was not able to complete it due to COVID.

I would really like some reassurance from Destination skin in regards to the effectiveness of my laser hair removal course due to the huge amount of time in between treatments because of lockdown.

I have raised my concerns with the team at Muswell Hill but sadly my concerns have not been answered with much reassurance as they have been given very little information from their training team.
The responses ive had when raising my genuine concerns have been very undetailed in comparison to my questions:
“Ordinarily we do recommend that treatments are undertaken at the appropriate intervals of 4 or 6 weeks depending on the area and hair being treated. While the current closedown may result in some short term reduction in results, once your treatment course restarts, you will begin to see results very quickly”
But this does not answer my question on whether the course will be as effective as it would have been had I been able to complete it in succession had COVID not paused treatment.

As I was informed when booking the course of laser hair removal and from all the research out there, this type of treatment works best when done in succession and within a 4- 6 week timeframe for the duration of a least 6 sessions. Sadly I was only able to have two sessions in succession and have now had a very large break because of covid, see dates below:

As we can see, there has been a full 6 month break between my appointments, which is nobody's fault of course but sadly means I wont be getting the full effects of the treatment I paid for had we been able to complete the course as intended.

I'd just really like some reassurance that I will still be getting the results I was promised when I originally booked the course.

If somebody can say “YES you will still get the same results” or “No, the break between sessions will have had an impact” then I will be given the information I need to feel confident in the practice.

I feel very let down by the lack of customer service on this occasion which is a shame as I really like the team at the Muswell Hill branch but feel perhaps they were not being given much information themselves to pass onto me.

Lockdown affecting treatment

I’m currently undergoing a course of laser hair removal at your clinic is Bristol, which has gone well so far. But I am concerned about the amount of time left in between my last course and my next appointment - because of the lockdown. I know this is out of your control. However because of the nature of laser hair removal, leaving treatments too long and far between can effect the outcome and may reverse some of the treatments I’ve already had. (Which I am already noticing) I was just wondering if you are offering any of your existing clients any advice or extra treatments to help combat this issue? I've found it very difficult to get in contact with anyone about this! (Sorry I reposted this as I didn't see the email reply to my post as it was in my junk! And it would let me reply to my old one - thanks)

I have wanted laser hair removal for…

I have wanted laser hair removal for some time, and found my first foray to be ineffective - to be clear NOT with Destination Skin. So I made an appointment for a consultation at Destination Skin on Maddox Street, London. I had a consultation with Amiee, who was lovely, a skilled saleswoman too! She assessed me thoroughly, and she and the manager and I did a deal, which was expensive but fitted the bill well. I had my first session with Amiee which went well, all the hair dropped out after 2 weeks. It did all grow back but that was not a great surprise. I had a second session with her, which had less effect that the first. I think these things can be unpredictable. I had a third session with a new clinician, who was very thorough, but for some reason refused to treat areas I had paid for and which had previously been treated by Aimee. I was really annoyed by this. On the other hand, the third, and very thorough, treatment seems to have resulted in permanent hair removal - just not everywhere I wanted it or had paid for! Mixed blessings I guess.

Rushed appointment with consequences

made an appointment at Destination skin in Bristol to have some eye bag filler, when i arrived Emeline Hartley checked with reception and my appointment did not exist,so she hastily swapped appointments around and i went in for treatment quickly , she was obviously in a hurry , i had the treatment and she decided i needed more filler under one eye, which she hastily jabbed me with the needle to insert more filler, thus stretching my skin under the eye and leaving me with a bigger eye bag now than before i went in, and led to bruising under the eye, very embarrassing at work! and is still a very noticeable disfigurement and she wont reply to my email left on her website, not happy with this service at all , beware

Refund, unable to have my sessions because the lockdown

I paid for a package hair removal (8 sessions) last year, I explained I was leaving UK on May 2020 and they said it was going to be enough time to have my eight sessions done. Today it’s the second time I call them to make a claim, as I just had two sessions done since last June and obviously I’m not going to be able to finish my package hair removal, please, I would like a refund of my sessions left or at least half of them, I have called and send emails, but they keep saying to wait until the clinic is reopen.. not very helpful

Great Customer Service

I had an unpleasant experience with relate to its refund policies during the pandemic and I escalated the complaint.

The Genernal Manager UK was very helpful, not only he listened, tried to understand the circumstances but also provided a solution that definately will bring their customer back to the business when circumstances permit.

I would recommend the business, in the end it is a good clinic with great skin specialist, and most importantly a company comes with an understanding of humanized customer experiences.
