USB ports on our 13amp sockets …
Having fitted 13amp sockets with USB charging points in our new house we find none of them are able to charge our mobile phones effectively if at all. Now having to replace them. Very dissappointed.

Awful
Awful. Alarm in garage keeps beeping twice and flashing the amber light. Replaced battery twice and still the same. Was told by Harry Chapman to take the alarm down and send it back to where it could be checked, and if faulty they would replace. Its clearly faulty by their own paperwork telling you what the lights etc mean. This would mean having to turn all alarms off as I understand you cant just turn one off. They were all fitted in our new build home 4 years ago. I have said that I wouldn't think its safe to take the alarm off/ disable the whole house as all hard wired. No reply. Not a great service from a company at all.

Bought an LED ceiling light. We had a previous version already installed but the transformer had failed - no big deal, it was ten years old. Looking at the ceiling fitting, the mounting holes and the lugs for the circuit board looked to be in identical places in the new one, so I thought "Winner, I won't have to take the fitting down." Got it all wired in and tested, discovered that the lugs for the board are *just* a little different, maybe a millimetre or less, so wouldn't fit. Had to do it all over again. @DETA why would you do this?
Amazing service
Had a problem with a neon switch. Sent an email that was answered within 10 minutes by Harry. He organised dispatch of replacement which was received within 24 hours. Amazing service.
Faulty alarm
House bought 7 years ago and the model fire alarms no longer produced but contingent on each other and not backwards compatible meaning I’d have to replaced them all for one being faulty. They’re >£25 each.

Deta
I have recently used a wide range Deta products in a house build. The slimline range has sleek rounded appearance. Clients prefer them as they less obtrusive on the eye.

Doesn't support vulnerable people during Covid-crisis
Since Friday two weeks ago, my Deta smoke detector has been going off whenever I open my window, triggering the alarms in my entire flat.
I contacted deta after doing all the steps in the manual to avoid false alarms. They asked me to take a photograph of the smoke detector to assess whether it was still in warranty. They offered to replace the alarm if I sent it to them and they determined it was indeed faulty.
As I'm sheltering because of health issues and I couldn't see myself going to the post office and risk my life for a £15 smoke detector, I asked them if it was possible for them to simply post out a new detector if I paid full price for it. They refused saying that it wasn't company policy because of customers making false warranty claims.
I do not understand how offering to pay for a new alarm is an issue or can somehow be seen to falsify a warranty claim. I am now without a smoke detector in my bedroom and cannot leave the house. Because my system is deta, I do not know if other alarms would work as well and because the original alarm isn't produced anymore, I cannot even source it elsewhere.
It's a very damning response where a company is too concerned about someone somehow taking advantage than to protect vulnerable people during a global pandemic.
I could not recommend anyone supporting such a business.
