Avoid timeguard
We have had timeguard for around 5 years and every time it unpairs, we spend literally hours trying to figure it how to repair it. We usually have to delete and reinstall it.
Nothing about it is intuitive, the videos and instructions don’t help. Horrible
The advertised promise
The advertised promise - Up to 24 ON & OFF per day
That's why I bought it: To switch on a heat pad for 15mins every hour. Well the minimum turns out to be 30 minutes so that's no good. Next it comes with only six pins which means it can be switched ON/OFF just three times. It would need about 20 more pins to operate it 30 mins on and 60 mins off. The pins are available - sold singly for an exorbitant price. T2his is not what I should have bought,
Timeguard FSTWFIFI.. FIXED :-)
I have a timeguard fstwifi. After changing router it wouldn't connect to the new router.
Given their rating on here I thought that they would be awful. Also reading people's comments I thought I would get through to their helpline. I called them 4 times and got straight through to someone (no waiting) twice. He was helpful and I got my problem resolved.
Do not purchase
I purchased the Timeguard FSTWIFI timer last year. I had to do some electrical alterations to fit it. But it worked, Until there was need to reset the timer. Problem is you cant. One can only set the unit once, if it fails the unit is NO GOOD. I wish I had read the reviews earlier.. YET the product is still being sold. DONT BUY
It's important to note that the…
It's important to note that the FSTWIFITU will only pair once. There appears to be no factory reset option. If you try to re-pair at a later date, the unit will fail. For that reason I cannot recommend the product.
Sadly this product isn’t reliable
Sadly this product isn’t reliable. Mine suddenly stopped working. Called the tech help and they suggested deleting the service and resetting. The guy said call back if it didn’t work. It didn’t! The unit will not connect to WiFi. Have called twice since wasting almost two hours but no one calls back. Can anyone suggest a decent alternative?
Non existent customer service
Adding my voice to the sea of disappointment and dissatisfaction. I have 5 of their WIFI switches. They drop out and I am unable to rejoin the network. I have contacted their “technical support helpline” dozens of times to seek help. It is always a voicemail and no one returns my calls. Non existent Customer Support, which renders the switches absolutely useless.
Immersion timer
Immersion timer is great and very convenient, the WI-FI connection can be quite hard to reset though

I bought 8 of these devices (at a substantial cost) as it looked like a good way to control the individual radiators in our cattery units. What a mistake that was.
As everyone else has noted, the TG servers go down periodically and quite clearly are not monitored outside normal office hours. The result being your switch defaults to off and hence the device it controls stops working.
The help line (misnomer) is useless and telling to switch a device on manually when you cannot access it is useless.
To add insult on top of the existing rubbish service, upgrading the app to version 1.7.1 just adds a nag when you log in to change to an alternative TG device!!!!
If they cannot support this how it should be supported, then make the code open source so it can be handled elsewhere, or divorce the need for the device to rely on the servers when they go down.
If they need the users to change to a different device, perhaps they should swap them over FOC. I definitely will not be replacing these with other TG equipment unless they start providing support for products that I have paid good money for.
Absolutely terrible support and implementation from what was supposed to be a premium brand. Avoid.

So Frustrating
What i would say from my own experience is DO NOT use these switches for any important services.
Luckily for me i only have a fused spur on outside lights. Since changing my ISP i cannot re-connect the switch to my app. Yes I have disabled the 5ghz on my router but nothing works. Going to get rid and fit different device.
To be fair i did email the help desk, who told me to switch off the 5ghz on my router, when i had already told them i had done this in the email.
Up Date.
So despite my rant in a moment of frustration this company has endeavoured to help me. Thank You
Unfortunately with my app and switch reset splitting bands and a whole host of other measures i still haven't been able to pair this switch with my app.

How can a company survive when their network was down for days over xmas.
No notification or apology to customers.
This impacted my lights on my mancave over xmas period.
Putting heating or anything you rely on would be stupid.

I have two of these they both lost WiFi at new year thought I would have to buy new ones but no they lost Wi-Fi because the site was down. Poor service not letting people know there is a problem. Also should not have to rely on the fact that you have to log into site to control it should just be the app
Server not reliable.
I use their switches for my 2 immersion heaters. Their server is not reliable enough and over holiday periods there’s no one to fix it when it goes down. The switches don’t store the programme so the device is useless without the server working. Even the manual button doesn’t work without the server up.
Systems with the programme stored locally such as Wiser or Hive can cope with server or internet dropouts.
I’ll be switching to a Smartlife system after the fiasco this Christmas. In 5 years I’ve never had their server go down.
Total bunch of inconsiderate
Total bunch of inconsiderate, unprofessional numpties!!!
Do Not & I say Do Not not purchase any TG products. If there was a business that deserves to fail these guys are up there….
Same problem as others - App and Server down
Same problem as others.
Timeguard you need to sort this fundamental issue like other 21st century companies. Not rocket science! A days outage is fine esp over Christmas period. But a week is terrible.
Otherwise a good app and good product. But as others say, the online/app side is utterly vital to selling these things.
4 timers all randomly switching
4 timers all randomly switching.
Manual switch override reverts to auto after a few minutes.
Cannot access the App.
No tech service available over Xmas & NY 24/25
Had to call an electrician to bypass all timers.
Appalling system & service - cheap but nasty.
An utterly useless system
An utterly useless system. The app to allow us detatched control of the water heating in our second home does not work, cannot be reset, and there is no call centre to help. Avoid at all costs
System down
System down, underfloor heating not working and can’t log in as network busy message. Does this most Christmas’s as clearly no one monitors their network over the holiday period. Avoid this product. Absolutely useless and I will be changing to a more reliable product.
Server down throughout Christmas
Server down throughout Christmas and New Year making the timer unusable. Appalling customer service - actually non-existent during this period.
