Rubbish product- not fit for purpose

Rubbish product- not fit for purpose! I get these under prescription as I am insulin dependant.
Accuracy is not good and misleading. Every single time I look at the app is has disconnected and I have to go through the rigmarole of getting it to connect.

Don’t waste your money

Not a diabetic just interested in seeing what I eat does to glucose in my blood-and I’m a bit of a nerd /body hack, got the Dexcom one+ 3 sensors excitedly set up app, applied 1st one and it failed to sync
Read loads of online, tried re magnet, ended up removing it and waiting a few days
Applied 2nd sensor and awesome it linked and seemed to work for a day and night
Overnight readings were below 2mmol so now I’m worried but then sensor failed mid morning and was told to remove- I pricked and did manual test- no issue with my glucose
So I have a 3rd sensor but after reading all these reviews why bother- incorrect readings are stressful- can’t imagine how horrible this must be for someone who actually requires medical monitoring!
I will research other devices if attempt again..this one just a waste of money

I’m done with being a customer

I’m done

Not diabetic- just wanted to learn about glucose tolerance to add to my oura data . I’ve spent money for four Inserted Stelos.. I’m now on my third and I needed to re- pair it after a day. Today it stopped working- I’ve had a flat line for five hours. I’m pretty disgusted by the customer service waste of time. Waits. Wrong departments. And now I need to wait for days for them to investigate whether they are sending me a replacement.-

I hate begging for an appropriate outcome. I hate relying on the unreliable and I really hate wasting my time.

I’m complaining to Oura. They deserve to have a better partner. One that costs less money. Poor poor customer service.

Surprisingly bad

Dexcom G7 sensors
Pros: Small, warms up in about 30 minutes.
Cons: Doesn’t last the full 10 days, usually starts glitching after 7–8 days, loses signal, and gives inaccurate readings.
A bit surprised that older sensor model is works way better (comparing G6 to G7)

Inaccurate and of concern…

These monitors are very inaccurate and it should be a concern of the medical community. Mine kept reading very high. I was sitting in the Quest lab having an HgA1C/Glucose drawn. Just before they drew the blood, I checked my monitor and it said 20 points higher than my actual blood glucose from the blood tests. This is awful and unacceptable. My insurance does not cover the Libre sensors, they are much better and accurate.

The DEXCOM G7 is the worst application…

The DEXCOM G7 is the worst application I have ever used! Dealing with my insurance to get more sensors is already a headache. Additionally, the meter doesn’t stick to my skin and falls off as soon as I remove the applicator, which is really frustrating. I hate losing a good sensor, especially since I only get three per month.

Stelo issues

The stelo product is not reliable. I purchased six sensors. 3 failed (flat lined in the app). All 6 placed same exact spot. I called and they will replace 2. However, I lost confidence in the product.

Dexcom G7 - Copes in the heat

I’ve only recently returned to using a Dexcom CGM after almost 2 years of struggling with the Medtronic Guardian 4 system.

Coincidently my switching to the G7 has come just a couple of weeks before a holiday in Greece where previously I have struggled to keep a CGM in place due to the combination of heat, humidity and time in the pool/sea.

The sensor I travelled with, installed 4 days before we flew, lasted its full 10 days without issue. I was very impressed, especially as my pump infusion set (Tandem Autosoft90) had to be replaced within 30 minutes of leaving the airport.

(I attempted to continue with my pump but couldn’t get satisfactory adhesion so as expected, I was forced once again to switch to using pens, as I’ve been had to do for every holiday since starting pump therapy in 2010 🥵🙁. I don’t understand why the pump manufacturers can’t produce an infusion set that lasts 1 day, never mind 3, in the heat but Dexcom can manage a sensor that lasts for 11 and is still firmly in place)

Unfortunately, the next sensor lasted only 1 day.

No problems with adhesion but the Dexcom app signalled that it had developed a fault. There was a frankly unhelpful message telling me that this could happen in the initial 24 hours after installation. Seriously Dexcom, what purpose did that message serve? I don’t recall any error codes or instructions to contact Dexcom so the information, beyond the “sensor has developed a fault” seems somewhat redundant.

Fortunately, senor #3 of the holiday remained in place for its full 10+ days. After the app signalled the impending failure I took advantage of the additional 1 day capacity so that I could wait until it was cooler the next morning before installing sensor #4.

That extra day is a great feature on the G7. Yes, all they’ve actually done is extend the life of the device by one day but by configuring it to work like the G6, for 10 days, and using the additional time as a buffer/stop gap, you’re now far less likely to find yourself without blood glucose readings for extended periods.

Another good point is making the G7 an all in one system instead of separate sensor and transmitter of the G6.

All in all I’m impressed with the G7. It’s compact, easy to install (are you paying attention Medtronic?) and it can cope with being attached to a sweaty, 52 year old Northern European, holidaying for 25 days in 30 degree heat.

Greedy Company, no interest in their customer!

I’ve been a long-time user of the Dexcom G6 and, up until now, my experience has been very positive. However, that changed today.

I received a call from Dexcom which, in my interpretation, basically said: "We want you to switch to the G7, so if you want to keep using the G6, you’ll now have to go out of your way to call us or try ordering it online." I went to the website to do just that — and found the ordering process so confusing and difficult that I couldn’t figure it out.

To make matters worse, the G7 has been completely unreliable for me — it's simply not accurate. And now, instead of supporting long-time users, Dexcom is adding insult to injury by charging us for the G6 transmitter, which used to be included. It feels like a money grab.

Honestly, I’m extremely disappointed. This is not the kind of treatment I expected from a company I’ve trusted with my health for years.

I worked with them for a project , it was bad

My review is slightly different because I am not a customer who has bought any of their medical products, however I am a Tour Guide that hosted the members of the executive level team and another high level associates from their company on a tour in Amsterdam. I was contacted by one of their travel planners to create a tour for them however my tours are built around marijuana(we are in Amsterdam) . This is noticeable on my website. This concept of my tours is very important to hold onto. when everyone came for the day of the tour. They were late in making their payment to me and ended up accidentally overpaying me and then we’re surprised and appalled that someone in their corporate team booked a marijuana tour the woman who booked it we can call Christina also acted shocked and appalled that it was a marijuana tour and I looked like a complete fool in front of all of these people. While some were nice and respectful to tour they make sure to let me know their dissatisfaction with the fact that they had a marijuana Tour Guide as if it was my fault that they booked me and then when I found out about the overpayment after looking at my account later on, They demanded their money back and yes, they hounded me and threatened to come after me with their legal team. For €200 that they overpaid me accidentally,
the tour was miserable btw . I did my best. I had a miserable day. One of the Tour Guides didn’t show up on the day and 50% of the group was happy with me the other 50% complained through Christina and made it look like they booking a marijuana tour was something they would never do! €200 back would not be a problem normally, but right now I’m having financially issues like the rest of the world. During my home eviction this summer, because I fallen behind on my home payments, they were ready and prepared to send a legal team after I received emails from three different departments demanding €200 back immediately and felt like a criminal. I paid it off after three months and still haven’t gotten confirmation that it’s done. I feel bad reading all of the stories of the lack of empathy and lack of customer support but I understand that it trickles down from the top. These people have absolutely no empathy as most corporations do not. most people who have a perfect corporate life do not understand those of us who are still struggling with the normal economy. After I raised my concern that I felt like I was being attacked for €200 I didn’t ask for, they did change their tone , however it felt more like an attempt to silence me to actually care about another human being. This review is my only respectful way of letting everyone know about the situation and about how this situation negatively impacted my economic and personal life. Corporations, they have too much power, no empathy and little desire to actually help humanity. Please never book A Tour with any other company ever again be wary of their products. And if any tour sees them, please be warned.

Dexcom one not great needs to be better

Dexcom one brilliant when it works but fails way too much. Either falls off your arm within the 10 day period or constantly bothers you with transmitter battery low which you can’t turn off. I’ve heard it once why does it have to go off all night and wake me up for days before I can change my sensor. I’ve had more than a few sensors fail upon fitting them to my arm, they basically pee blood out just after you fire them in regardless of whether the transmitter is in or not. Usually fails when I don’t have a spare one to fit. Uk prescriptions are worked out on a useable time frame that dexcom give for the product. 10 days per sensor so you can’t reorder them early which is useless. I end up having to ring the doctor and beg for a prescription! Customer service are pretty much useless as they will only give you one replacement sensor in a year even when’s it’s the product at fault! They seriously need to do better, this is a medical device not a take it or leave it device!

Used Dexcom G6 in the past and just…

Used Dexcom G6 in the past and just started with the G7 after 18 months of hell with Medtronic’s Guardian4.

I’m currently in Greece where the temp is a fairly consistent 30 degrees.

The sensor I’d put in the U.K. managed its full 10+ days without even a suspicion of falling off. The next sensor, unfortunately, lasted just over a day. It didn’t fall off despite time in the pool and the sea, but it developed a fault “failure” which the app said is something that can happen within the first day.

I’m 3 days into the next sensor and 🤞 still going strong. Again, it’s had some pool and Ionian Sea action and there are signs of the over patch being affected but I’m unworried.

If the pump manufacturers, ALL the pump manufacturers can get their infusion sets to adhere like Dexcom then we could continue to use our pumps on holiday.

In the meantime I’ll just have to cope with the erratic blood glucose that comes with reverting back to pens and 2 insulin types 🤬

Come on Dexcom, give Tandem a call, do a deal and help me out.

I called Dexcom Canada regarding the readings from my sensor to my phone and how inaccurate the readings are. The customer service person said that Dexcom isn’t responsible for the adequacy of their sensors. Being diabetic and using the Dexcom g7 I should have some reassurance that my sensor works. The readings are very very off from my finger prick. There was no help or support from Dexcom Canada’s team.

I’m a diabetic type 1 close 40 years and I started using the Dexcom G6 over 5 years ago and upgraded to the Dexcom G7 over 2 years ago and Dexcom is now supplying crap . My sincerest advice to anyone reading this review is to not buy any Dexcom product! Sensor failure and misleading information is very common with this product. Stay away you will be sorry the freestyle libre is a better product !

Dexcom G7 is a terrible glucose monitor! Caveat emptor!

I use the Dexcom G7 glucose monitor. Every time I install a new sensor, I have to hold my breath and hope I don’t get a “sensor fail” before it finishes the warm up period. I am on vacation in Turks and Caicos Islands and I just changed my sensor. I got a failed sensor and I am panicking! I only had the one replacement. I have a week to go now with no glucose monitor. I will be changing to Freestyle Libre 3 as soon as I get home. Dexcom is unreliable and very expensive! Never again….

Absolutely terrible

Absolutely terrible! Readings are always incorrect which is dangerous when you’re having a hypo. Never last the 10days. Just inserted new sensor and within half an hr of it calibrating, I got a message to say replace sensor now even though I just did. Itchy and can be uncomfortable at times. Will be changing after this last batch!

Quality Control

Sensors continually fail before the ten days are up.
Customer service is difficult as they are all foreigners trying to speak to American English speakers and the barrier can be extreme.
It appears that Medcare has finally given approval for G 7 sensors., thus overloading demand for sensors and quality has taken a big hit in the process.
I have been using G7 for over a year and only had one issue. Now, in the last three months I have had to replace faulty sensors 5 times.

4/4 Failed before 10 days: One+

Terrible sensors. I changed from Libre due to the flash sensor from libre being annoying and incompatible with my phone. Dexcom one+ was suggested by my nurse, yeah it works with my phone and a Sugarpixle but now I'm on my 3rd sensor.
1st one left arm, 2nd one right arm, 3rd one stomach.
3 out of 3 started to fail at 7 days. I can't even get the full advertised 10 days as advertised from the sensor.
Sensor 1 started to continuous have "brief sensor issue" starting at day 3, by day 8 I'd had enough and swapped it out.
Sensor 2 was fine for 8 days, day 9 "brief sensor issue" started in the morning, by evening it failed and was told to swap the sensor by the app.
Sensor 3 was fine for 6 days, now on day 7 it's getting "brief sensor issue" again and keep alerting to low BG when finger stick shows 6.2.

The reliability of these sensors are terrible and need to be improved. If they wasn't available on the NHS id be more angry at these terrible sensors. If I had to pay for these, this 3rd sensor would be the last one.

Sensor 1 was revision 5, sensor 2- revision 8, sensor 3 revision 5
All in different places too. This is NOT user error, it's just unreliable technology. Not to mention 50% of the time the app refuses to use your calibration.
God awful sensors - This tech shouldn't have passed CE mark and checks, they're rubbish!

4th one just started with the "brief sensor error with 6 days left. These should not be on the market! 4/4 have issues what a JOKE!
