Dexcom one+ for me but not the app
So the dexcom sensor for me is very impressive, the One+.. The ability to calibrate it is the biggest benefit for a IT Engineer (might be different for a standard user).
And it far exceeds the libre from abbott in my opinion... its helped significantly improve my health and the ability to pair with multiple apps and their receiver is great... Ive had one failed sensor, but that was rectified within 24 hours.
However, Dexcom your iphone app is very very poor. To the extent where it can cause significant health issues when alarms can fail. For this reason i pair with shuggah which alarms fine - so its not the phone ;)
Although the dexcom allows calibration it has a fundamental flaw, it doesnt see the fingerprick calibrations as a single source of truth... for example, i drop to 4.4, i calibrate to 6.1, it corrects to 4.7, so i calibrate again to 6.1 it corrects a little higher... then it drops again to 4.4 again...
you cannot tell someone to use your sensor as a wake up system when you cannot set the SSOT to what you recommend (the finger prick)
I’d give it no stars if I could
I’d give it no stars if I could. I had a few different problems with their sensors. One fell off right when I had inserted it they replaced it. I had one sensor end early they replaced it the one I put on after the device that ended early would not connect after a merry-go-round with customer service of closing my case and not telling anything no email or call or anything I created another case spoke to a human explained it all and then got the email early in the morning they can’t verify my issue so they will not be replacing it. Cool so I still have the sensor in my arm and it’s still not connecting I tried to give it a few days to see if it was like app updates or something but they can’t verify the issue so I guess I’m a liar. Do not do business with this company they did not ask for screen shots or picture or even a video chat. Their trouble shooting is like the IT crowd did you turn it off and back on again. Ridiculous.
Bought 3 sensors as there was an offer…
Bought 3 sensors as there was an offer buy two get one free. Seems to work fine first few days then started showing very low readings. Morning 4 to 5 am usually my sugar would be high but now it sticks to 5,5mmol/l . Now for the past 3 days sitting between 3.6 and 5 .5 mmol/l. even if I consume high carbs or sweet . Don't trust I would say not only this brand but others also. Best is a prick test. CGM technology is not yet up to the mark. I have tried all brands.
Another company that doesn't hide that…
Another company that doesn't hide that the profit is more important than customer loyalty or satisfaction. Their G6 sensors were slow to respond (and especially considering how much technology has advanced). Their G7 sensors failed on me twice while I was painting, so eventually had to move a new one to near the abdomen as I couldn't risk another failed sensor. Why? Because their customer service, on top of the poor quality of sensors, leaves a lot to be desired. A few months ago, their manager was rude to me to the point that I had to say to her I found her rude, for which she apologised. More recently: getting a replacement sensor is a major hassle: customer service doesn't return calls (now been waiting 10 days!), wait-time to get connected is well over an hour, customer representative sound like they're doing you an enormously huge favour by sending out a goodwill gesture replacement sensor. On top of everything - you have to keep a record of the serial number of the sensor you're wearing - this means either a screenshot or the packaging - because if you don't, you won't be able to get a replacement easily, and the G7 seems very difficult to apply. Finally, they sent out a few batches of sensors that were going to run out in terms of their expiry date by the time I applied them. Don't expect replacements or something similar. Customer services l' mantra: "they were in date when we sent them out to you", implying that what happens after is none of their business. I wish my clinic had given me Libre 3 sensors instead. Absolutely pathetic of a company!
I made the mistake of ordering 2 Dexcom…
I made the mistake of ordering 2 Dexcom G7 at one go. The first one failed after a day as previously reported. The second one could not even be detected by the app. The Dexcom G7 is the most unreliable CGM I have used. Stay away from it.
Dexcom G7 Review
Dexcom G7 Review: TV Commercials Misrepresent Information all the time!
The Dexcom G7 TV commercials present an inaccurate portrayal of Medicare insurance coverage. While the commercials suggest that Medicare insurance will cover the cost of the Dexcom, this is not entirely true.
To qualify for Medicare insurance coverage of the Dexcom, patients must be taking insulin. Physicians often prioritize minimizing insulin usage in their patients. Therefore, patients taking any diabetes medication, including oral pills, do not qualify for Medicare insurance coverage of the Dexcom.
It is concerning to observe patients repeatedly self-poking to obtain blood glucose readings. In fact, I think it’s stupid! I would appreciate any feedback or experiences from others who have encountered similar situations. Let me know in the comments. Thank you!
33% failure rate
33% failure rate. I have used this product for about a year. You are only allowed 3 replacements per year. At first I thought I was applying it wrong but I followed the directions exactly and I have one out of three sensors that do not work at all that's a 33% failure rate. When you call customer service nobody answers.
Unreliable product.
The accuracy is fairly near. As a type 2 diabetic, personally I dont need it to be bob on, just give me a decent guide.
The problem is the reliability of the sensor. 1 in 4 either doesn't pair, or doesn't last the full 10 days. They normally stick quite well, but I have had to put tape over them to keep it in place. It does react with my skin, causing a rash. I alternate arms because of this, and I am happy for this to continue.
That said, their customer service team is awesome, but the it needs to be with their product. I get mine from the NHS on prescription, but even so, some people pay £35 each!
I cannot describe the apprehension everytime a new one has to be inserted, not knowing whether this one will work or not.
The sensor failed as it has many times…
The sensor failed as it has many times in the past. Tried to get a replacement by filling out the form on their website. After filling out the form, the website failed as it has many times in the past. Had to hold for over 30 mins to talk to a live person. It took 30 more mins. to answer her questions. Poor customer service.
Desperately disappointing
Desperately disappointing. I tried them for almost a year but gave up when my latest transmitter was giving wildly inaccurate readings. Recently I thought I'd try them again as my diabetic nurse had suggested I attempt to manage without medication. Time to try Dexcom again, but it was even worse. It stopped over and over, and rarely managed to get through a night. Unreliable and innaccurate. Avoid.
Give Dexcom a wide berth as they don’t have decent Customer support
I have sent 3 emails over the past 3 weeks and had no response from the Company, I get my prescription for the sensors and have done for a few years, recently they have had faulty sensors the most recent one was straight out the box and it failed they never even had the decency to call me, for me it’s back to Libra 2 and dexcom’s loss.

DO NOT BUY DEXCOM!!!
This product does not work. Spent numerous hours on hold with they're "help department" numerous sensor sites replaced by dexcom, transmitters etc. This is the worst product I've ever seen. Is not accurate. Dexcom got in trouble with the FDA for outsourcing they're production to 3rd world countries to increase profits for A LIFE SAVING DEVICE. They say they have fixed it since but I've never noticed a difference. If you care about yourself or loved ones do not support this hack of a company.
I had 3 of the last 9 I ordered fail
I had 3 of the last 9 I ordered fail. 2 of them back to back, and one didn’t even inject properly as the wire that was supposed to be internal was sticking out of the top of the sensor. I asked to speak to someone higher up about the issue and had to call back 5 times because when they transfer you to a supervisor they send you to their voicemail who which isn’t even in service so the system just says thanks for calling, goodbye. I never even got to a supervisor. I had one rep hang up on me the moment I told her I’m calling for the 4th time because it never actually transfers to the supervisor.
I am going to be calling my insurance and reporting Dexcom to them for faulty products and mismanagement. As well as requesting a charge back. I will be switching to a competitor from this point on.
This isn’t a rare case either, 2 or 3 of each of my shipments will fail. I’ve had reps completely mishandle my cases, file them incorrectly and outrite lie about them.
I believed in this company so much I bought shares back when I first got their product. However every year since then it’s gotten worse and worse and the stock prices it. It’s down to half its value since 2021.
There are plenty of people getting into the CGM space and I highly recommend you consider them heavily over Dexcom.
I have used Dexcom for my diabetes and…
I have used Dexcom for my diabetes and it seems like every other sensor fails and rarely do they last the full 10 days. They don't care about true type 1 diabetic, customer experience.
Most of the time it works okay to track…
Most of the time it works okay to track general trends in my blood sugar. I do have to enter several calibrations after I change sensors before the accuracy really catches up. But changing sensors is a pain since you absolutely have to wait for the stupid thing to expire before changing and it takes an hour and a half for it to warm up. In my personal use, the most annoying thing is it going off ALL DAMN NIGHT either immediately after a sensor change or because of high or low alerts. If my blood sugar is dropping, beeping at me relentlessly every 5 minutes isnt going to make my sugar rise any faster. It takes time to metabolize what you eat or drink. Same for insulin. No matter what insulin you use, your sugar is not going to drop 150 points in 5 minutes. And there is precious little you can do to shut the damn thing up. You can completely turn off your phone, but then you can't track how you're doing treating the high or low. After one or two nights of it, you're ready to rip it off and uninstall the program.
I started using dexcom a little over a…
I started using dexcom a little over a year ago and so far I've had sensors fail on me. And calling the customer service is a joke since it's located outside the U.S and I couldn't understand anything any of them said. Dexcom shouldn't even be in business considering the low quality of their products.
Dexcom Stelo is a Scam - Do Not Buy
I tried to use Stelo for about 3 months and their devices just kept failing for various reasons. Either massively inaccurate or they just completely died. After 3 replacements they just denied my 4th replacement request and closed all open cases. As a result I am left with failed products I purchased in advance and a company that doesn’t stand by them.
Terrible to deal with, no support, they do not care. Do not buy Dexcom Stelo, a complete waste of money for a pathetically bad product that should not be on sale. They deserve a class-action suit for Stelo.
Well not to long ago my sensor had…
Well not to long ago my sensor had failed after 5 days I had 5 days left plus 12 hours grace and I submitted a replacement they responded today telling me it was send to you and will arrive 6-7 days like I would been okay with waiting the next day but 6-7 days foreal im running with no sensor because they only are available to send u 3 every month honestly I had this problem before but I didn't bother with it but now that it failed on only 5 days it ridiculous that I have to wait 6-7 days you goes should change that kind of rule it dumb
Very poor customer service
Very poor customer service. Have tried ringing 3 times - repeated message “ we are experiencing technical difficulties please call back later! “
Have tried ringing 3 times. What sort of service is that??! Can not even leave and message and request a call back. Shake your boots Dexcom.
Inconsistent quality
The Continuous Glucose Monitors are not cheap but I have had 3 fail out of the last 8. So far they have been replaced without question but there is a limit to how many they’ll accept in a year. Doesn’t fill me with confidence. I have cancelled my subscription and will try another brand.
