I can't recommend Different Snow enough - Georgia advised and then planned, with brilliant help from Aiko, a superb trip. Highlights included the cherry blossom festival in Kanazawa (we would never have thought to visit this city as a much cheaper and much less busy alternative to Kyoto if it hadn't been for Georgia), wonderful Spring skiing (with snow still falling early April) in Nozawa Onsen and Yama No Chaya Ryokan in Hakone.

The organisation was flawless and every transport link and hotel were excellent. The guidance and information was incredibly useful

Different Snow made our trip to Japan a real once in a lifetime experience. Nick and Aiko did an amazing job of organising every aspect of our holiday, providing great ideas and tips to make our travels as seamless as possible. I would highly recommend different snow to anyone wanting to visit Japan.

Different Snow organised an outstanding trip for me and three friends, from recommending the perfect resorts and accommodation to seamlessly arranging all transfers.

We then extended the experience with a further ten-day holiday across Tokyo, Hakone, and Kyoto, joined by six additional family members. Every detail was brilliantly handled — the accommodation exceeded expectations throughout, and the recommendations were consistently spot on.

Different Snow was GREAT! They were easy to work with, and reached out when they needed information. Pre-travel communication was seamless and gave ample time to respond. We loved the easy and fun-to-read info booklets and swag package! It acclimated us quickly to the highlights of culture, dues and don’ts, and other miscellaneous information. All was easy to understand, digest and feel a little more prepared.
What was really reassuring is that whatever we had planned went so smooth and stress free. When we got off the plane, we had somebody waiting for us. We did not have to deal with language barriers nor navigating through the town to hotel, back to airports, ski resorts, etc. Hotels we stayed in were great choices for us. We loved hotel and location of Groove in Tokyo, a medium-large yet boutique-style hotel. We also appreciated their help setting up an english-speaking tour guide in Tokyo.
Again, transportation to Niseko was on time and seamless. Although drivers didn't speak much English, they were polite and translated a bit through the phone. We liked the smaller Niseko Hinode Hills resort compared to such a large one like Hilton. We were about 20 minutes away from “the action” in Hirafu so that required shuttle or taxi (taxi can add up) but shuttle easy and convenient enough to use too. Having Different Snow help with ski rentals and passes made it a breeze. We took shuttle to Hirafu on the first afternoon we arrived and found the “rental” Rhythm (not to be confused with the retail store on the main street). Rhythm actually drove us back to our hotel for a small tip for the driver.
Now that we’ve used Different Snow and know their quality, professionalism, access to the area and activities and knowledgeable guides, drivers, etc., We will use them again when we return to do more of Tokyo and surrounding areas.we will definitely use again!

Even though we had the worst two weeks of snow in Japan recent history, we still had a great trip. Georgia knew exactly what we were looking for and put a perfect itinerary together. All the connections were seamless and it was a real pleasure dealing with Different Snow. They are a class act and you won’t be disappointed!

Different snow staff took time to help us personalise our experience and work out the best options for us to enjoy skiing and some cultural aspects of Japan.we would highly recommend this professional and personal company, who were on hand to answer any questions- especially for us as ‘first timers’ going to Japan.

Just back from a 10 day 2 resort stay. Different Snow provided an excellent service in helping me plan the trip last year and provided extremely helpful materials in the lead up to help me prepare and get my head around the various destinations on my itinerary. Logistics throughout the trip were seamless, the food was amazing (thanks in part to many restaurant recommendations from Nick) and the accommodations fully met my expectations. Sadly the unseasonably warm weather meant that the powder I so desperately craved eluded me, but that was the one thing outside of Different Snow's control. I wholeheartedly recommend them for anyone planning a trip, particularly if it involves multiple legs, and if I ever return I will definitely use them again. Thanks again!

We recently returned from a ski trip to Japan organised by Different Snow, and overall it was a truly memorable experience.
After a slightly bumpy start due to weather-related travel disruption (beyond anyone’s control), the team handled the situation and ensured the rest of the trip ran very smoothly.

Having returned home from 2 weeks in Japan with Different Snow we can’t talk highly enough about the quality of planning that goes into Different snow holidays. We had a 2 resort package ( plus Tokyo for a couple days ) created for us with visits to Niseko & Nozawa where we were blessed with amazing snow. What makes the holiday so great is Nicks attention to detail and planning before we even booked the holiday. We had a number of back and forths ( as we clients changed our minds) but he created the ideally trip for us. This is then supported by first class details ( electronically but also in pamphlet form) along with guides to each area, suggestions on things to see and do and eat after the skiing. Logistically everything was well planned and worked according to the schedule. Finally the holiday was incredible value as Brit versus going overseas to ski North America etc.

Exceptional itinerary advice (in the planning stages). Terrific follow up after booking (multiple checkpoints and collateral along the way.) Lodging exactly as expected as was transportation and guided skiing experience. Every detail exactly as described with no surprises which was the most pleasant surprise of all.

Fantastic team at different snow, always happy to oblige with itinerary suggestions and any changes that pop up along the way. We have used them three time now and every experience is better than the last.

Different Snow created a truly bespoke, seamless, luxury experience for our first ski holiday in Japan. I have traveled to a number of continents with a number of tour companies and Georgia and Aiko's communication, advice, itineraries and travel tips were second to none. Our ski guides were excellent, our accommodations were a perfect fit to meet our desire for a mix of luxury, culture and authenticity. Much like Japan itself -- from the snow and the onsen to the ryokans, food, people and punctuality -- everything was exceptional. Arigato gozaimasu!

We had never skied in Japan so went looking for a specialist and discover Different Snow. They gave us great advice and the trip went exactly as planned and without a hitch.

Best things about our trip was how efficient and clear all the directions for absolutely everything was. Different Snow made an excellent itinerary in which they planned everything and all ran 100% smoothly. Our guides...especially Gregor from Niseko was the very best--excellent guide, and really made our trip. Loved the Japanese culture/people/food of course. Loved Green Leaf place to stay: Perfect. Massages were excellent and well needed. Hakuba reminded me of Colorado--mostly Australians. Wouldn't go back there but good to experience it once. Would have liked to know that guides weren't allowed to go to Happo-one...would have not had a guide for one of the days and gone there. All and all--great trip! Will recommend Different Snow to others.
