Dinner & Dissection returns for 2022 and we invite you on a journey through Victorian Medicine. Join us as we look back on The Victorian Greats… The Victorian era of Britain saw the industrial revolution bringing wealth and prosperity to the British Isles, at the same time the scientific method began to shine a light on the natural world and provided answers to some of the greatest questions about our existence. Our understanding of the human body, its origins, and anatomical functions accelerated giving rise to much of the advancement that underpins modern medicine today.

Brilliant experience but the quality of the PPE was very poor and lacking . Plastic was too thin on gloves and needed a plastic apron
Food was ok
Food was ok - chocolate cake dry. Go pro would be better for camera so we can see birds eye view. Very informative and interesting. PPE could be better quality
A wonderfully unique experience
The dissection on the table is such a unique experience that brings the people you are dissecting with together. The history and demonstrations were so fascinating this was amazing !

What a fab atmosphere & we've just arrived. Chatting to guys on table all lovely, a mix of students & professionals. The actual "show" is great a comment from our table when Holly was speaking was " I feel hypnotised". Great night
Great so far
Great so far. Very friendly staff and lovely venue. Excellent atmosphere
Educational and fun
The atmosphere from when you check in is great, you walk into a mood lit room with a corpse under a cover. Once everyone is seated the host welcomes everyone and gives a brief run through of the nights event. Afterwards you’re served a two course meal, which is very tasty.
Getting the chance to take part at your table is fantastic fun and educational. Can’t say too much to ruin your night if you intend to go, but it is worth it.
Overall a great night spent learning and cutting. Let out your inner Ed Gein.
Absolutely loved this
Absolutely loved this. Very informative and absolutely fascinating. Really well coordinated and well run event. Staff were very knowledgeable. Meal was fairly good. My only criticism would be some of the camera work was a bit too quick for me to focus on. Excellent choice of and well priced merchandise. Definitely recommend!
Very well paced event
Very well paced event. Great fun and interactive evening
Attended the Victorian medicine dinner…
Attended the Victorian medicine dinner and dissection 12/03/2022. A great unique experience, CPD certificate issued, great food, drinks, show and evening of dissection. What's not to love?
Dinner & Dissection.
As far as event planning goes, a lot has has gone into this. Particularly for a mobile event.
Free parking at weekends for village hotels.
Rundown of activities (times are approximate)
6-06:30 guests arrive
6:30-06:35 ish. Welcome and intro
06:45 - 07:45 dinner is served (by hotel)
07:45 - 08:10 preparation and guidance for dissection.
08:10 - 09:30 theatrical entertainment style presentation of Victorian history and an explanation of dissection about to be done.
09:30-09:45 intermission break.
09:30 dissection and presentation resumes.
Things I liked;
I’d read before room was crowded and noisy during the presentation, but this was under control. So it seems that feedback is valued and taken on. Good command of the crowd.
The hotel room and layout was like one that would be used for a wedding breakfast or a business conference. Very well decorated to add to the Victorian feel. A lot of nice touches.
I’d read before that this wasn’t worth the money. After experiencing this for the first time, and having planned events myself, this is definitely worth it. I wasn’t one of the lucky ones to get a discount, but it’s an even better deal if you get a discount.
The presentation was clear to me, and not too much jargon was used which was much appreciated. I do not work in the medical field.
I saw some references to science subjects and the medical field so wasn’t sure this was for the general public but it certainly was, and great for a night out. Sort of immersive theatre. It felt comfortably familiar like being in biology class.
I was worried about eating and dissection afterwards. It’s only like visiting the butchers. There was advance notice to tie long hair up, and roll long sleeves up. So clear instructions are given for everyone’s safety.
Unlimited photos are allowed and encouraged. Just not video.
Friendly hosts. Extremely nice touch that the actual guy that runs the event greets each guest on entry. I only realized that afterwards otherwise I would have asked for a photo with him.
Room for improvement;
The variable sign board in the lobby said which room in the event was in but would be nice if it also included “entry will being at 06:00” so those of us who arrived early would have had an idea what was happening.
Communication
Needs electronic media staff to respond to messages in a more timely manner.
In conclusion, would recommend and would attend again.

Staff are really friendly and session is super informative. Will definitely book again.
Well worth the money !
Well worth the money !! Food was ok, but the science side of the event is 100% worth it ! I'm not even in the medical field and I have learnt a lot!! It's amazing what an event like this can teach you ! Staff are very polite and welcoming and no Matter where your sat you can see what's going on and and a laugh aswell as informative ! 100% would recommend!!
Came to the dinner and dissection in…
Came to the dinner and dissection in Manchester on Friday 11th March. Everything was well presented and enjoyed being able to do some dissection came as a group of ten really worth the Money extremely interesting and a bonus 4 cpd hours and a certificate
Great evening
Great evening. Could be improved with more equipment and specimens. On a table of 10, there wasn’t enough time for everybody to have a go and I wish I’d brought equipment of my own. Despite that, we’re having a great night and I’d definitely come again to another one. Looking forward to the second half 🥰
a fun and morbidly interesting night
Very informative and hands on! Not enough of the proper tools to go around, and the food was delicious but not particularly Victorian. All in all though, a super fun and morbidly interesting night out!
