Prompt answer to my telephone call
Prompt answer to my telephone call, which correctly suggested it was much quicker and easier to do on line.

It was easy and straightforward to renew the policy. However I did not need so many reminders.
Cheaper than last year!
This was my first renewal after a claim free first year. I was very pleased to see the price was less than the previous year. Very easy purchase procedure. Having had to pay an outrageous excess in a previous year I wouldn't be without this insurance.
Fast and efficient
Fast and efficient.
The Direct car excess systems are very user friendly.
Renewal
Had my usual reminder and was surprised to have a drop in prices of around 20% from last year. Renewed after lapse date but no problem and quickly went through the simple process. Not had to use Direct Car Excess Insurance but have had it for quite a few years and cheaper for an annual policy rather than individual hire car arrangements.
Good investment
Purchase of insurance was easy and and it provides peace of mind .It is much less expensive than the insurance cover offered by the hire company.

I have bought it for years and not had to claim. This time at renewal the payment process was clunky twice at the payment stage and i abandond it and phoned operator. She suggested I try again otherwise she would have to take 15 min to read it all. She unwillingly did and I'm signed up. Surely there's a way to take payment by the operator once i have accepted renewal online?
Premium is Ok but did not use the excess cover
Booked insurance on the day the car was rented - so could start the cover only the day after. Reasonable premium.
Fortunately, there was no problems with car and did not have to use the excess cover. So unable to comment on the usefulness of the insurance, which is the crux of the matter
Helpful people
I'd used annual car hire excess insurance since about 2010 and never had to use it. The first time I used direct car hire insurance was the year preceding COVID. I got a claim in from Sixt via a recovery agency some 18 months after I'd hired the car, which was the first I'd heard of the claim. The people at DCHI were incredibly helpful and although this was over a year after the policy had expired because it had happened during the life of the policy they paid me within a matter of days after I'd paid the Sixt claim (however spurious the actual claim was). So now that I'm using hire cars again on holiday I felt very safe using the same company again.
Very easy to renew
Very easy to renew, and the policy is peace of mind and saves a lot by not having to pay for 'full insurance' everywhere we go.
Good value for money
Simple renewal process
The process was simple and the premium had reduced slightly. (Though I have never made a claim)
