We had an incredible trip through Argentina and Brazil over three weeks, from Buenos Aires, to Cordoba, to Salta, to Purmurmarca, to Iguazu Falls, to Paraty, and home from Rio. It was a complicated itinerary, and Heather from Discover South America was incredibly helpful in planning and booking everything, and supporting us whilst we were out there. We've used DSA before, this was our second trip with them, and we will use them again. Very highly recommended.

This was my first trip as a solo female traveller. As a result I looked in to organising this trip independently at first and quickly became overwhelmed attempting to organise the trip and ensure I was able to do what was best to see in each country. I looked in to tours where you was with a group of people for a set amount of time. I decided to not go for this in the end, due to the age brackets for people. I’m 37 and felt I may be more mature than some on the younger tours and younger than most on the other tours. Also I didn’t feel I would want to spend that long with the same people. I then came across discover South America. I saw quickly that Heather had consistently good reviews. I spoke with Heather and she was keen to find me a plan for my travels that was within my price range, my timings, with the accommodation I wanted. She was happy to make changes to my plans on several occasions due to my indecisiveness. I travelled South America for 5 weeks, the plan was written for me in detail of when and where I needed to be, it was very straight forward and well organised. I had English speaking representation meet me at the air port or hotel and tell me about the local area, any risk concerns, the currency, where I should go. I had a 24 hour emergency help line, I didn’t need this. But especially as the recent troubles in South America this gave me security to know I had someone to contact if there was a problem. Something I think as a solo female traveller is important. I had a fantastic time, I saw so much of South America for in my opinion a very reasonable price, this trip has given me the confidence to travel independently in the future. I think this provides a good opportunity to travel independently but with some security.

This was our second trip with Discover South America. Heather did an amazing job of planning our trip, brainstorming ideas and helping us when our flight was cancelled. Looking forward to many more trips with Discover South America!

I really cannot praise DSA enough. They organised our return flights from Milan to Rio, with additional flights to Iguassu for the falls.
Throughout the process they were beyond professional. Heather incorporated minor changes to our itinerary several times, and when we encountered a significant problem at our hotel in Iguassu, it was dealt with promptly, effectively and ultra-efficiently.
Our guide at the falls was exceptional, too.
We are so, so grateful to DSA for making this journey one that we will treasure for ever!

We have just returned to New Zealand from a round the world trip, organised by DSA, as a post covid catch up with sons and grandchildren. Our flights (involving breaks in the USA, the UK, Italy and Singapore) were a great price, leaving and arriving at convenient times with stop overs that allowed comfortable transfers without rush and worry. Heather was amazing in terms of her patience, rapid response times and wonderful suggestions during the planning process. As a consequence of our experience with DSA we have booked a similar route with them for next June. Once again Heather has come up with the goods!! Thankyou for your great service.

Well organised, fantastic scenery and wildlife

My family and I had a fantastic two-week private tour of the highlights of Peru superbly organized by Discover South America Ltd. (DSA). DSA was very responsive from the first moment of inquiry and during the lead up to the trip.
Heather at DSA deserves a special mention as she never missed a beat in all our excursions, transfer services, hotel bookings etc. She put a customized itinerary together that worked perfectly at great value and handled everything promptly and professionally
All travel guides spoke excellent English and were very professional and knowledgeable about the places we visited. The drivers were very pleasant and punctual, and the hotels selected were very comfortable and suited us down to the ground.
We recommend Discover South America 100% to anyone who wants to tour and discover the beautiful country of Peru and its people.

Our experience with Heather from Discover South America was incredible from start to finish. From the beginning, we spoke to her about what sort of thing we wanted and she put together a suggested itinerary. We went back and forth many times changing things, adding things etc and every time she was helpful and proactive. She took our feedback on board, made suggestions and provided a trip we were excited to go on!
Throughout our trip, all the trips and guides she had arranged were brilliant. We loved the guides we had! When there were issues, only twice in our whole three and a half week trip, we emailed Heather and they were resolved quickly. Neither of these were down to Heather and were the fault the hotel.

Everything was seamless which meant we could really relax and know everything was sorted. We would highly recommend using Heather from DSA!

The best travel service I have come across in many years.
If you want a perfect adventure anyway in South America no need to look anywhere else Heather is superb!!
She organised a personal trip over 6 weeks through South America from Peru to Brasil, with every detail taken care of, it was a trip of a lifetime and made that way by Heathers contacts, suggestions and organisation.
We will be back for more!!!

Heather of Discover South America arranged our 14 day holiday in Peru. it was a very busy bespoke itinerary which we adjusted several times in the lead up to travelling, and involved a total of 7 flights, one train journey, and a fair number of bus and taxi rides, to all the major zones/sites (eg: amazon, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca). It went 99% like clockwork - the travel, the hotels, the tickets for visiting the historical sites, were all arranged and worked perfectly. We were given all the detailed information we needed, including a detailed itinerary, local contacts, suggested packing lists for the trips to the rain forest and for those at high altitude , all the flight references, good advice, etc..... It was definitely all we had hoped it would be, and absolutely a dream holiday. We hope to do something similar in another country with DSA in 2023.

This is the first time I've used a company to help plan and organise a trip and it was such a great experience. Heather was extremely helpful and accommodating before the trip. She helped keep my holiday within budget but still managed to book all the experiences I was hoping for.
As a solo female traveller, I felt safe and well looked after. The contacts in South America were lovely and always available to help. All the guides for the organised tours were wonderful and the hotel choices were fab.

(if you are going to Peru, I highly recommend the Amazon experience... I had 2 nights in the lodge and it was even better than I had expected, worth the extra money. The days were full of really exciting activities and was definitely one of my highlights!)

We enjoyed our trip to Ecuador very much, thanks to the planning expertise of Discover South America. All transfers were seamless, the quide in Quito was great as were the day trips. The Galapagos was a wonderland and a perfect place to be ''off grid" for a week.

The trip planned by Discover South America was full of super choices for reliable, knowledgeable, and personable guides and drivers, special and pleasing hotels, and Ecoventura for our Galapagos cruise.

We felt WELL taken care of all along the way and appreciate all the services excellently provided.

DSA have been brilliant in booking and organising our 28 day trip to Chile (and Argentina). We gave them our itinerary and criteria re transport, accommodation and excursions etc and they found, sorted and booked everything, always checking back with us each time. Jackie was very patient with our, constant, changes and always replied to emails quickly and efficiently. Jackie took the time to listen to our requirements and at no time did she try to “sell” us anything that we did not want, yet she was there to give us help and knowledge when we needed it. Having now returned I can say that every arrangement booked for us has been 100%. All the drivers, guides, hotels, excursions worked like clockwork. I would definitely recommend them and use them again. The Agents they used in both Chile and Argentina were great and arrangements in both countries went smoothly.

We had a fabulous holiday to Argentina. Heather was very good at looking after us and easy to get in touch with when we had questions. She's really knowledgeable...we just need to start planning our next trip!
