Have just returned from a tailor made holiday organised with DSA and using local small hotels and local guide services. It has been an excellent trip and gave us a lot more insight into Peruvian culture, both historical and present day than we would have achieved without the private guides. All the sometimes complex arrangements went very smoothly and it was a treat and luxury not to have to organise bookings ourselves. The guides and drivers were very knowledgeable, kind, and flexible should we wish to alter plans on particular days. I cannot rate DSA and the Peruvian guiding services they used too highly. Thank you for a truly memorable holiday.

An Illuminating view of South America. All accommodations were good-to-very good. Our Chilean travel agency coordinated our activities well and were punctual. Our Argentinian agency could use some improvement in their coordination which was sometimes revised at the last minute or did not allow sufficient time to reach our destination.

Jackie and Heather were extremely helpful and organised the trip to the bespoke itinerary I requested. I received everything as required prior to travel as well as useful advice.
The local agents in Peru met us at the airport as required and at all times kept us informed of times and dates of pick-ups etc.
Everything went smoothly and we had excellent guides and drivers.

We had an absolutely excellent holiday - thank you so much for organising it - it was hard work for us and challenging at times but made so much easier with the (mostly excellent) guides.

Jackie at Discover South America helped us book the most amazing trip. It was perfect and exactly what we had wanted. It had the right balance of guides and time on our own. The schedule was perfect, travel times, managing to see everything that we wanted to see, acclimatizing gradually and it all ran to schedule with no mishaps. I cant put into words how much we enjoyed it , she listened to everything we said, gave some great tips and advice and the planning was superb - she really did a fabulous job for us.

Jackie did an amazing job at organising our trip to Peru, Iguacu falls and Rio. The trip itself was absolutely fantastic and Jackie's help made the experience run smoothly. We are two 19 year olds and so having our activities, transport and accommodation pre-planned made us feel much safer as well as saving us organising time. Would highly recommend.

Heather did a great job organizing a month-long Ecuador trip for me and my family. My wife and I have four kids (17yo, 14yo, 11yo, 9yo) so it is always a challenge to keep them all engaged. They all had a great time and Heather clued into their needs well and crafted a trip with the right mix of activities, cultural education and downtime to make it fun for all involved. I would use Discover South America again and recommend them for your future South American trip.

Heather at Discover South America put together a tailor-made 14 day itinerary for us in Peru in June 2019. From the outset, she took time to understand what we wanted, and plan an itinerary to deliver that to our budget. She booked good local hotels and engaged knowledgeable local guides to help us make the most of the trip. It was also carefully planned to make sure we were properly acclimatised to the altitude before attempting the Inca trail. Great service all round - we couldn’t be happier with our two weeks in Peru.

Discover South America arranged my visit taking into account my specific requests regarding the itinerary and the type of hotel I wanted. They did a brilliant job - everything went smoothly, with local operators managing transfers and tours very professionally. Throughout the time before my visit I was kept informed about any changes to my travel plans (such as a change in a flight time) and was given excellent advice about tours and activities I might enjoy. The detailed knowledge Jackie and Heather have about the countries I visited enable them to really 'tailor' the trip to make it exactly what I wanted. A very special trip enabled by a first rate travel company.

I spent two and a half weeks in Peru, joining some organised trips to the Colca Canyon, Lake Titikaka and the Inca Trail and then spending time independently in between. The whole trip ran very smoothly - hotels were all lovely, transfers very efficient and all in all I had a great time. They also kept within my budget.

We had a fantastic time that exceeded our expectations. No complaints! The Cusco acclimatisation was excellent and both tours ideal. The hotel was excellent. we were fortunate to have the same guide Edwin throughout including the Inca trail and he was extremely good. informative, well organised, flexible, and a good sense of humour. the 4 day inca trail hike was amazing. we had a smallish group of 6 and went with 4 Americans. the food was ridiculously good.
in Ecuador our guide was Dyanna who was also very flexible and very good. Our flight from Peru was cancelled, and Avianca rerouted us on three flights. Remarkably our bags made it, and we landed in Quito only 90 minutes later than originally planned. A single phone call to SoleQ travel rearranged the pick up without any difficulty. Avianca upgraded us to Business class on our next flight which was appreciated. We had a full days tour arranged in Quito, but were very tired post the trial, and Dyanna changed it to a half day tour which worked very well.
The Galapagos Islands were an excellent experience. Our boat Treasure was very good and spacious although food not a good as on the Inca Trail!
We were very pleased with the entire trip and will be pleased to recommend to anyone who asks

Our Peruvian adventure included the 4 day Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu, time in Cusco and 4 days in the Amazon Rainforest. The companies DSA used were all very professional with great knowledge of the area and history of the region. Very well organised and structured too ensure that our adventure ran smoothly. We had a fantastic time traveling through Peru and Ecuador. Aside from the mountains and oceans which were both absolutely rejuvenating, I must say that the hotel in Cusco was a sparkling highlight - best staff, food, and accommodation - and our location in São Paulo was perfect for our walks and whirlwind exploration.

All our arranged transfers made transitioning from airport to hotel so much easier.

I am not sure if Discover South America is in charge of organizing Presidential travels, but they might as well. I have never had such a well organized trip. Everything worked well, we did not encounter an kind of issue. From the planning phase in the beginning where they gave us a lot of ideas and suggestions to the final documents. Everything was perfect and just as predicted,.... including the moskitos :)

We could not have been happier with our journey through Peru. Mind you that the Peruvians are lovely people, well organized with a great pride in punctuality and giving you a great experience of their country. Combined with a travel agent of this quality you are well served. Thanks a lot!

we had a tailor made trip to Colombia,lasting 22 days in Feb 2019 It went without a hitch with excellent guides and drivers.The internal flights with Avianca were invariably late !! but the actual planes and staff OK
The country beautiful, with amazing variations. We felt very safe and found the food good and for me, especially the fruit and fish ,also the quantity far too generous. We found the Colombians to be very hospitable and anxious to please and show off their lovely country

Jackie at Discover South America put together a bespoke trip to Chile for me which included a few trips within organised tours (in locations where it's difficult to do things independently) and also independent travel in our own hire car. We went to the Cayon de Maipo, the Attacama desert, Patagonia and Pucon.

I normally book my holidays on my own but I'd run out of time and had never been so South America before so decided I'd find someone to help . I described the kind of trip that I wanted and Jackie got our itinerary together and booked everything within a couple of weeks.

The trip really lived up to our expectations and we had a great time. DSA provided us with a detailed itinerary so the logistics were all sorted. Our transfers, flights and accommodation had all been booked so it was really easy to just turn up. There was one occasion when the transfer didn't turn up in time but we called DSA and they had someone who spoke Spanish on the phone to sort it out for us.

DSA knew a lot about Chile and were very selective about which local operators they work with. We felt that we got very good service through out. I definitely recommend them.

Amazing 19 day trip with my daughter to Peru and Ecuador with the Galapagos Islands. My daughter had a long list of things she wanted to do in an impossibly short time and Heather was the only one who would pick up the challenge!! She did an amazing job juggling our schedule to fit in Lima, The Rainforest, Cusco with local markets, Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain, Quito with volcano, the equator and local markets, and Santa Cruz with boat trips. It was a complete whirlwind but she even built in time to get acclimatised to the changes in altitude. We even managed a couple of free days. The breath of what we did was amazing, from 5025m above sea level to sea level. The lists of what to take were spot on and the contacts of all our different guides was great for the odd hiccup. It took all the stress out of travelling , we were so well looked after. It was well worth going over budget for!!
