The aim of our trip was basically 'seeing puffins' - my mum is fascinated by them and always wanted to see them up close and had been disappointed by a previous trip years ago elsewhere where we only saw about five of them.
As it was a special occasion, we chartered the boat rather than join an organised tour. This was surprisingly cost effective and if you're a large group considering a boat tour it's always worth looking into. In our case there was just the five of us and we had the boat to ourselves (with our nervous dog) and it was absolutely perfect.
George couldn't have been more helpful, and was really flexible in booking a time to go out, advising when would be best for weather, the puffins, etc.
It was a fantastic trip, and we saw many thousands of puffins.
