Underwhelming! Not sure what the fuss is about. I can name 3 local curry houses who do better dishes. The only saving grace was our lovely server, Adam

Rude waitress in Shoreditch branch
Visited Dishoom in Shoreditch this evening with my husband and 2 young children. We knew it would be busy with it being so close to NYE but felt it was a much deserved meal and wait after an afternoon soaking the Christmas lights in London.
We waited 1 hour 15 mins - We were okay with this - were seated downstairs. The restaurant was super busy but all staff were attentive and friendly... well until it came to paying the bill.
A waitress came with the bill and explained that I'd need to pay by scanning in the QR code on my phone, I followed instructions and went to pay, the sum was very small and a little surprising but there was no breakdown so I just paid. The receipt was emailed to instantly, I opened it to see I had been billed incorrectly and looked to see if I could catch the eye of the waitress who had billed me, she came over and told me I had paid the wrong bill, I explained that there was no breakdown and she told me ' Well you have paid it now' I felt her tone was a little rude but didn't say anything, she asked me to stay seated while she rectified this with her manager, I felt an apology was missing as this clearly was not an error on my end but still I said nothing.
My children were becoming restless so I asked my husband to leave the restaurant with them while I waited for the waitress to return, she did and abruptly asked me to stay seated, now I was upset.
1. They made the billing error
2. No apology
3. Being asked to stay seated like a child does not sit well with me
I asked if we could handle the remaining sum of the bill by the till and she complied but didn't look so happy about it. I then asked her to lower her tone as I felt it was rude and inappropriate, I made a point of telling her that she was rude previously but I had let it go.
The waitress then had the cheek to tell me she was not my slave!!!!
My ancestors fought for freedom in India when the British colonised and therefore I do not take to someone using slavery as a way of getting themselves out of trouble. It does not cut!
She stormed off and her manager was called, he was apologetic, she did not apologise but I didn't expect it.
I'm disappointed with the attitude of this member of staff and will think twice before returning to Dishoom in Shoreditch.

Royal Mail lost my order from dishooms’ online store and their customer service team were excellent at resolving the issue! Exceptional customer service.
Dishoom Battersea
Met with friends across town for a table booked at Battersea but there was a leak and the kitchen was closed. The slightly incompetent young men on the door offered to try to get us a booking in one of their other branches (table for 5) but then forgot about us and when I reminded them said they were still trying, and there was no offer of transport, so we gave up. Disappointing customer service.

Visited Dishoom in Shoreditch today
Visited Dishoom in Shoreditch today. Excellent food, ambience, and friendly and attentive service.
Nice venue, tasty food
Nice venue, busy, Staff were friendly and attentive.
The food was tasty but not big portions and overpriced for the size. Not sure I would return.
Disgusting and unacceptable
I have visited several Dishoom restaurants around the UK.
The prices are too high in all of them for the portion sizes.
The vegetarian options are very limited.
I recently went to the Dishoom Birmingham for a meal with family.
The food was ok but as usual very overpriced and very limited vegetarian options.
However the main reason I have given one star was the absolutely disgusting state of the mens toilets.
Sickening is an understatement.
Having a nice looking restaurant, then having an absolutely disgusting, smelly toilets is unacceptable.
The Management need to seriously take a look at this urgently as there will definitely be a lot more reviews like this.
I for one have been put off Dishoom.
There are a lot of very good restaurants in Birmingham, some not that good.
However they all have one thing in common, clean and hygienic toilets.
The same cannot be said about Dishoom.
Dishoom Canary Wharf - what an experience!!
What an amazing experience last weekend for my second (and won’t be the last), visit to Dishoom Canary Wharf!!
The food was amazing, the staff wonderful and the ambience vibrant and feel-good!
My friend and I had such a lovely time. As a result, I was on a high, for the rest of the week!
Thank you waitress Princea, for being so attentive!
Dishoom Battersea
Had an amazing visit at Dishoom Battersea. Food was delicious, great hospitality and service. The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was lively. We will be back! :-)
Needs to work on their pricing and food quantity
The food at Dishoom is no doubt good. But the price they charge for a small portion is ridiculous. Their customer service is very good as well. But they are forgetting that people go there to eat and. If you order some snacks with one or two dishes the price can easily go up to hundred pounds.
They seriously need to lower their prices if they want to remain in the business.
Canary Wharf restaurant excellent
Canary Wharf restaurant, absolutely first class food and service, one of the best in London, called in by chance on our last night as staying in the hotel next door, what a find, thought it might be quite on a Sunday, but still busy which gives testimony to its popularity. Both of us had curry’s I had mutton which was the best I have had and my wife a chicken curry which was equally as good, service and quality of food made this a memorable end to a fab weekend.
People of every heritage celebrating a famous culinary tradition.
You must try the Dishoom Irani restaurant experience Birmingham centre! 1: Coming from a long tradition of restaurants in Mumbai. 2: Clientele AND staff of every heritage enjoying. 3: Great care in service. 4: I found the food delicious.
Good experience
The quality of the food is amazing. It’s just like your homemade traditional Indian food.
The staff were very kind and the food was prompt. However, it was a LITTLE bit pricey. Apart from that, amazing experience.

Visited the Battersea branch with a friend. I booked for 5 pm, there's noway I'm ever queuing to pay for food at full price - not going to be part of this model where they essentially aren't willing to invest in/use a booking system and instead create stupid hype by having their customers queue for hours. The food was mediocre, you can eat better and for less if you visit tooting or other Asian areas. Was super uncomfortable, tables are far too close together so you can barely push your chair back. Staff were nice enough. I really don't understand why people love this place and why they are willing to queue for so long for this food.
Quality went down drastically!!
Dishoom Covent Garden - Having personally been here before, I thought I would bring my partner for his birthday. After waiting one hour in the rain to enter the restaurant, our expectations were high, as previously I was quite pleased with the experience. Sadly, this was a massive let-down for both of us. Starters - PRAWN KOLIWADA - deep, deep fried, very oily, frozen prawns, not nice at all, left us with a bad taste in our mouths. KALA CHANA SALAD - tasteless - £11.70 for a bawl of plain salad - do not recommend as not much going on there and not very creative. Main dishes - CHICKEN RUBY - just a regular curry that you can have at a much cheaper price at your neighbourhood indian - honestly. SPICY LAMB CHOPS - very greasy, had to return as they were very tough, impossible to eat. The manager brought me some new ones, a bit softer, but still with a big amount of fat. The marinade was left on them while being grilled, therefore they were burned on top - please remove marinade when you grill - every chef knows that!!! Advertised as ''generous proportions'' - not much left after you remove the fat!!! HOUSE BLACK DAAL - the only thing we enjoyed, together with the CINNAMON ICE-CREAM and KALA KHATTA GOLA ICE. We will never go again to Dishoom, as is seems quality has severely dropped and the prices went crazy. For this money, we would've had a decent meal in a nearby restaurant and spare the wait in the rain. Overpriced, overcrowded and very noisy, can't har yourself talking, victim of it's own success. Service was very good, but that doesn't justify the food quality which really needs to be looked at. Produce doesn't seem to be fresh, a lot of frozen products used. That is not acceptable for a place which seem to be holding itself quite high.
Delicious food & Great service
I’ve been to Dishoom many times, but never to the Kings Cross branch. Delicious food, as always! Our waiter Daniel was excellent. He helped my friend out with ease; Keto diet, no flour, and no sugar, He was absolutely charming in a friendly and professional manner.
Aside from the long queues
Aside from the long queues, absolutely love this place!
Dishoom Edinburgh - Simply Brilliant
Visited for the first time tonight and had to write a review which I don’t normally do… the food was simply amazing, perfectly cooked and tasty and the service was impeccable. The waiting staff made our evening even better, very attentive, friendly, kind and humorous. I wish I’d gotten our waiters name but the guy with the beard and slight short pony tail, just absolutely brilliant. Will definitely be going back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

i didnt pre book ques are horrendous but and a big BUT the chilli chicken is mouth watering my first restaurant vist since moving to the area
A wonderful dining experience
We go for regular breakfasts in Kings Cross and the staff are always exceptionally friendly and go above and beyond what is expected. We always come out feeling like we have had special treatment and could not recommend this restaurant enough. It is a wonderful dining experience, not just because of the standard of the food but also due to the atmosphere and service. The last time was no exception with the service by Touhidur. We will be back soon!
