It's been a great journey

It's been a great journey. Julian's course changed my perspective, I really should've taken it earlier, I wouldn't have lost so much time on pointless learning.

For sure, it's not a course for complete beginners and, in my opinion, you need to know the basics mostly because that you'll know what parts you need to trim off.

I've joined Julian's EES without hesitation. For the next couple of months (years?) I can't imagine working with different materials. The course is quite expensive but it's worth every penny if you really want to master your English.

Highly recommended English course!

This course by Julian was superb.

His methods provide not only how to learn English but to change our mind, habits and behavior in order to improve it.
You must be impressed with the sessions because I guess you've never experienced them.

I'm sure I can be a better English speaker if I continue what he taught us.

Finally, I highly recommend especially Japanese join the course when they find it.
I appreciate Julian and MEFA.

It's about change the mindset and habits

The main goal of the course is change your habits and mindset about learn a new language (English in this case). I have to say that's is tough course, every week you have to do a homework and submit it and some tasks really push you to think about it. So, you need to have some free time in your weekly schedule to focus on the lesson and homework. Is the course worth? Totally! It will open your mind and this will help you to speak a better English. I really recommend it.

One of the best learning methods in my life..

This course (MEFA) could help me improve my English. It shows me new ways to learn English and also reorganises some of my believes about learning things to be more systematic. This course focuses on how to learn, how to change your bad habits of learning things into the good habits and a lot of things. During this 90 days of changing myself, my English is improving. Beside English skills, I could apply the methods from MEFA to learn other things. I used to believe that talent is the most important thing to master something, so I’d likely to give up when I did’t see my expected improvement. But this course has changed my mind and made me totally realise that I can master everything I want if I do put enough effort and keep consistenly doing it. This is one of the best investment in my life.
If you want to join this MEFA, beside subscribing daily email and watching his video about MEFA, I recommend you to read ‘Master English Fast’ (Julian’s book) first. This book will introduce you to his point of view and the method that he create to learn English and it’ll be easier to decide to join MEFA.

I can say this course is a game changer…

I can say this course is a game changer in how you see the language and your own approach to English learning. I'll never see the language the same way I did before MEFA. It's hard work though, and a lot of times very uncomfortable. But Julian gives you all the support and never hesitate in answering anything, he's always willing to get the best out of you. Although he says he's very frank and direct on the feedbacks, which is true, he's also really dedicated and welcoming. The coaching calls and the weekly feedback are really productive as long as you do the work. Julian will give you the tools to build your own method of approaching the language, according to your personal goals, and it's up to you to do the job. But it's worth the effort as I already see I lot of improvement in my English skills. Definitely recommend!

Do Not join if you are close minded

MEFA is highly recommended for those who really want to improve conversational English skill, you will learn loads of useful chunks and phrases. if you are planning to pass IELTS or other English tests, please DO NOT join MEFA! This is no for you. This is not a traditional English course, you will not be asked to memorise words or grammar, but you will be learning a lot of natural-sounding expression in a very different learning method.
I am very happy with this course!! I can't recommend enough.

This is a mind-changing experience!

I’ve just finished the MEFA course and I can tell you that it’s definitely different from all the courses that I’ve already had. It doesn’t teach you to learn the language, it actually shows you how experience the language, how open your mind to the language, how treat it the right way. It encourages you to think deeper about what language really is and helps you communicate much better.
What I really loved about MEFA is feedback. If you get stuck, or do things in the wrong way, or simply screw up, Julian always helps you deal with that. All you need is to do work.
Even if your level of English is quite high, you’ll find it helpful anyway. Moreover, there is a chance to join EES group while doing MEFA, if you can manage more work, of course.
If you still doubt, I recommend that you watch Julian’s videos on YouTube and subscribe to his daily emails. It's simply what I’d done, so I knew what to expect and this course lived up all my expectation. Just brilliant!

Julian is a life coach? ;)

Just like previous reviewers mentioned, this course is absolutely not for everyone. BUT, if you’re an advanced English learner who is open-minded, willing to trust a linguist on the top list of the world, able to abandon the way you’ve learned to improve English, and excited to put your effort, you should come along and have fun!

To future MEFAers: you will learn how to live better by learning how to improve your English with Julian.

Julian's method works.

Julian's method works.
I think he is 95% correct to the key to learn a language.

However, ironically he admits that he himself is not a very effective communicator.
His lessons are quite lengthy.
Every lessons he likes to go through a lot of stuff before to the key points,
and it is a bit tiring to listen to.

Julian's sometimes talks quite a lot about himself,
and yes, they are related to learning English,
but if you are not interested in him,
you may find it boring and sometimes odd.

Cheers

Thanks for the review, Aaron.

All your comments and criticisms are fair, but I think you've misquoted me somewhat on one thing: I don't think I've ever said I'm "not a very effective communicator" - arguably, I'm a very effective communicator. What I said is that I'm wasn't a naturally great conversationalist (due to being on the Autistic Spectrum) and had to learn many of the things that other people take for granted (much like people learning English as a second language have to). This doesn't mean I'm not good at it now; it means I wasn't good at it when I was younger.

This is not for everyone. Be careful!

Hi Guys. I want to say this course surprise me a lot as for the teacher as for the content.
I consider myself as an advance English student but always want to grow more and more and I was looking for something different to get different results.

This is totally different but of course will work depend on how much you do to get the results.

This is not another English course. This is a 12 week English coaching session. Julian (for me) is not a English teacher is a Linguistic Coach which is totally different.

This course is not for you if:

Your level of English is less than intermediate.

You do not have time to listen almost one hour of Julian's session and later another hour to get the homework done every week ( this was my personal time)

You are not open to get a different perspective of learning English.

You want a nice teacher who would say " good boy" even though you know you do not really work or understand the homework.

You are sensitive and do not like a teacher to be direct without any adornment on the feedback and you might take this personally. ( I remember how Julian gave me welcome to the course when I was late in the login session as in NZ we got a different hours than Ireland and I didn't set up my hours: "Don't expect other people to "correct" your mistakes. Not only will they not do it, but it's not effective anyway".

That was f.. rude to me as He didn't know what happened and He didn't know anything about me. Anyway... I continued as I already paid to learn not to have friends or be treated nicely.

Fortunately, I do not regret to have moved on and today after 12 weeks I got a total different way to learn more and increase my English speaking skill.

Great course

MEFA is a pretty intensive course and who decide to join it needs to be open to change.
The material is amazing and Julian shows us different tools to learn English. However, the main ingredient is definitely hard work, not only to study English, but also to use it. I’d say that MEFA is not for everyone, but if you’re prepared to work hard and change your mind, it will be a great experience.

Definitely worth it!

I thought I had tried everything to improve my English but without any good result. After having read Julian's books, I knew his method was the one I needed and it absolutely was! Julian's approach is really fantastic and not only for English but also for everyday life (at least for me). These 12 weeks have been so fast but I learned so much! MEFA is the beginning of improvement, and thanks to Julian the path to it is clear.

If you want to improve your English, you must attend MEFA.

This course is highly recommended. I learn English for several years, but my language only improved a little bit. I also tried many English courses to get a high level of my English. However, it didn’t work, and sometimes, I feel I wasted money on that. Until I joined MEFA, I realized that this is what I want. Julian is good at pointing the problem we have. This is very useful for English learners. Generally, teachers always teach us language, grammar, vocabulary etc., but there is no any English teachers who teach us to build up a good mindset of learning English. You need to change and follow the right way rather than learn English randomly. This is very very important for who really want to improve your English. I love this course and highly recommend to you.

MEFA course recommended

I've just finished this course of MEFA. It changed my mindset and the way to improve English. Actually, I joined several courses before and found it did not really work for me. I thought I might able to speak to people in English but I felt I get stuck at that level. I felt frustrated about how to get myself to the next level. Finally, I learned a lot from this course and know how to use those methods to get an improvement in the future.
