Julian's lessons are great! They helped me take a proper approach to learning English and his daily emails are very interesting and pleasant to read.

I'm a daily reader of Julian's email, while also I got the "Master English Fast" book and have registered to the "Two Step English" program. I had studied English for many years through the "traditional" way at school and I got to a very advanced level, but I always felt that there was something missing, when I had to communicate and/or address a presentation or argument.

When I discovered Julian, it was really an eyeopener for me, unlocking capabilities in fluency and language learning (not only English!), which I was struggling to accomplish for many many years.
With the guidance of Julian, not only had I accomplished my initial goals, but I have raised my standards (not only as a language learner) and I 've been working towards them ever since.

"Brilliant, inspiring and best course I’ve ever taken part with an incredible high personal benefit in only 12 weeks"

This is my first comment after having now finished Julian's MEFA course to master the English.

As I have already known him from his amazing podcast Serie "Doing English with Julian Northbrook", my expectations on this course were very high.

And, not surprisingly, he has completely fulfilled my expectations.
Julian’s ability to motivate people by his very natural and authentic manner is outstanding. One can feel that he brings all his passion into his program. His method and his way of explaining it, from my point of view, is not comparable with any other program. In the past 20 years I tried to boost my English in different ways, such as online courses, classes, private lessons etc., however the progress was very poor.

My progress in 12 weeks of MEFA course was bigger than in the last 20 years. That’s the fact.

The course is very clear structured, lively and very challenging. It is not just about techniques how to improve your English, it’s also about some further aspects, like behavior, intensity etc. and how they play a role in your English learning. We’ve got also a lot of food of thought which we could reflect on and finally you got a different view on things.

For me personally, this course was really pushing me in the right direction. Now, I have a different idea on how I can make significant progress in English (a certain large step I’ve already made within this 12 weeks) by using top tools and by having a changed mindset, as Julian keeps thinking you about a lot of things which are related to become a better English speaker.
Therefore, I highly recommend to enroll in this course. Julian makes a fantastic job and I’m quite thankful having had the opportunity to work with him so closely. Julian, please keep working in this way and thanks!

I love Julian's emails, they're always full of funny or inspirational content that makes me reflect on my journey and progress.

Their emails and Youtube channel were my first contact with Doing English. I was pleased to listen to different advice about how to learn English, different from the generic "memorize grammar rules" and "memorize word lists".

After applying what I learned with his free material, I decided to buy his course (Two-Step Speaking). The content was even greater and I was happy to know that I could apply the concepts taught to not only English but any language. Julian provides a framework for how to design your study sessions, as well as how to select the best material for your learning. I improved a lot thanks to this course.

I also read "Master English Fast", where he talks about some concepts explored in "Two Step Speaking" but more briefly. A short but highly useful book with practical advice.

Finally, I want to say thank you to Julian for creating Doing English. If It wasn't for his project, I still will be frustrated about learning English and thinking that learning a new language must be boring.

The fact that I have been reading your email daily for more than two years yells is a clear testament to its exceptional vitality in helping me with my English Language learning in general. Your definition of a person who has a good command of the English Language is really 'mind opening' to me. I like your email a lot.

He's not just another dude who happens to speak English as his first language and teach English because that's the easiest thing he can do.
He knows what he's doing (he's even doing his phD on this) and what really makes him special is the fact that he also struggled to learn a second language. I believe he started to learn japanese in age 21 and now he's reached a very high level of fluency in the language to the point where we can run a business in japanese.
Often time we see many native english speakers who teach english but they've never learned a second language and don't know what it is like learning a new language. How would you trust those people teaching you a second language if they have no idea what it's like learning a second language??

If you've been only taught a language from school in the traditional way where you learn grammar rules first, memorize vocabularies and finally make sentences by combining vocabularies in the grammar rules you learned, well chances are you somehow managed to reach early intermediate ~ early advanced level of english fluency but you've been stuck in there for years and you are struggling to progress further.
That was me before I found Julian. It took me a long time to realize that the method I've been doing in the early stage of learning english won't work forever. As you progress you need a different approach. But I've wasted so much time and energy on learning new fancy grammar rules and vocabularies when in reality I already knew enough of them and what I really needed was a little bit of twist, a new way of seeing this whole language learning process.

Learning exactly what to do and being free from the doubt whether how I study now to improve my english is gonna work or not was a huge game-changer. With the english problem sorted, I could focus on what really matters to me.
I joined Doing English to get better at english but that's not the only thing that got better. It's my whole life that got better.

Reading Julian’s daily emails give me more direction as learning, not only in the topic of language. Reminding me life not just grab everything, doing the right things are more important. I’ve subscribed his mail about two years, he encouraged me a lot.

I like Julian method of English teaching. Perhaps it's not suitable and comfortable for everybody. I'm not pretend for mine soleness, I merely refer for the one English teaching method that is some sort of the mix the sharing of the live experience, the behaviour coaching with the deep immersing in English language&culture context.

Simple tips, direct speech and daily emails with lessons of life. That’s what I love about DOE method.

The videos, books and daily emails have helped me to improve, to lose the fear of speaking, to learn from my mistakes, basically Julian encouraged me to learn not only the language but also the culture and history of his country.

I have 3 books, Unchaing your English, Master English Fast and Magnetic chit-chat. From my point of view they are excellent books full of advice, tips and tricks.

I hope to buy the rest of the books soon.
