I’ve been paying for over two years, and recently had an issue with my washing machine. The technician arrived late, claiming he was lost. He parked his van in the middle of a private street. When I asked him to move it, he became angry and acted disrespectfully on my property before leaving without resolving the issue.
Later, I had a problem with my fridge – the gas is causing ice buildup, preventing proper use. The same technician came to check it, did absolutely nothing, and simply said 'the fridge is like that' before leaving again.
Appliances with issues in less than 4 years, and a technical service that is both disrespectful and inefficient. No more Whirpool nor Domestic & General thanks.

My fridge freezer broke down on Friday
I phoned as the system which previously allowed me book on line was not available
After 4 calls Friday i was then given contact number to book the repair myself
The number given was not open until Monday
I called back Friday and was asked to call again Saturday morning and I would be able to book with another company for repair the following week
I called I think 4 times Saturday and was given 2 more company’s to phone which I did both shut till Monday
I then called back d&g and was told to phone the first company on Monday
I work nights so I need to be able to change shifts to be at home for the repair
I am worried when I phone Monday that either I will have same issue or the repair will be some days away
This means no fridge freezer for some time
I remember when I signed up for the policy I was told I would get priority bookings too treatment

Washing machine repair…. Absolutely fed up with paying good money to insure every kitchen appliance I have and when I need a repair it’s a constant battle. Can’t get through on the phone, can’t get a decent timed appointment, no Saturday slots available either. No help to full time workers who are not lucky enough to work at home. Over an hours wait the phone to even try to discuss the fact that my engineer is late. Not even going down that road. Online chat also not connecting. I have waited in all morning with still no 30 min beforehand call to say when they will arrive. 9.36am-12.36 9/8/23 I was due an appt. You can be that specific with times but when we want a smaller slot you can’t help. If an Engineer is running late a courtesy call would be nice. What do I do now? Wait for another appt which could go just the same. Btw this is already my 2nd appt as the one due on the 7th July you cancelled but didn’t have the decency to tell me. I only found out because I laboriously call you. Again I had juggled my whole work pattern to accommodate you just like I have today too. You tell me please D&G what I should do because I’ve just about had enough of trying. Annual leave is precious, have you no customer care at all? What makes me even more angry is someone had the audacity to call me this morning to try and get me to insure more items. Not only do I insure my whole kitchen and TV what gives you the idea I would want to hit my head against the wall any harder. How people with no smart phones, computers or phone patience cope I’ll never know. It’s your communication that I am complaining about the most, once an engineer does get through the door they are usually very helpful. In this day and age poor communication and customer service is just rude and disrespectful. Just give us ways to talk to a human and then you won’t irritate your consumer. I expect contact back from this review about your shambolic customer service and care.
On hold for over and hour. Then they put me through to someone so I had to wait another hour. Then the lines went dead as was closed. Phoned again Monday and they didn’t want to know and when I asked for a manager I was put on hold for another 45 mins !!! Fuming !!!!
