Poor quality. Obviously cheap Chinese import as when tracking order goods it was on an international flight to London! So this company is obviously the same (under another name) as Shein! When ordering from them it was supposed to be Oliver Harrison in London.
So Dorothy Bags seemingly looks like a Company based in Uk but is obviously a room where some-one just sends the orders through to China. My advice steer clear.

Wanted to return bag., unsatisfactory quality. Sent emails with no response. Phone number gives unobtainable tone! Scam company!

There’s something very special about this bag. It feels like more than just an accessory. It has a personal charm.

Do not buy from this company. They are scammers. Bags not handmade and definitely not leather. Bags come from China and smell terrible.

This bag is not even worth £5, it is 100% plastic !!! The zip doesn't even work....it is the most appalling bit of rubbish I have ever seen and has gone straight in the bin. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS AWFUL COMPANY

Do not trust this company!! Dorothybags UK is in fact based in China. Their products and not leather, but cheap plastic and bear no resemblance to the products in their on line catalogue. Despite complaining and requesting a refund, they are now ignoring my emails. Obviously I have lost the money I paid for the item, I should have used PayPal which would have given some protection against being scammed.

I purchased a leather bag for my mother that was apparently reduced from £150 to £27.99 - I should have realised this was too good to be true and also should have checked here first . After 3 weeks (and the bag travelling around most countries of the world from what the updates said ), the ‘real leather crossbody bag ‘ arrived . It was not brown and leather , it was not even PVC. It was yellow and plastic . I emailed immediately and sent photos . Heard nothing despite chasing them for days afterwards . Eventually after 5 days ‘Dorothy ‘ replied and assured me I was a valued customer and I had 3 options :
A) accept the bag I got and she would refund me 10% as a gesture of goodwill
B) return the bag at my own expense
C) request a replacement bag but this was subject to availability .
Obviously I realised at this point that
‘Dorothy’ had taken my £27.99 and had no intention of putting anything right but nevertheless I did reply to her and opted for option C and asked for a tracking number to be provided to prove the replacement bag was on its way .
Unsurprisingly I have heard nothing since.
Do not buy from this company as they are a total con and are ripping people off .

These bags are awful, cheap, mass produced rubbish. I just don't know how they can trade as .co.uk company when they dispatch their goods from China. I ordered 2 bags for an elderly friend and she is bitterly disappointed by them. If only she had read reviews first. Nightmare, avoid at all costs

Buyer beware! I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. I fell for the story of the closing down sale and hand stitched quality leather. My bag too was a cheap import with very little quality about it.

I ordered this ''genuine leather'' bag in I think, early July. It arrived in Aug and even before fully opening the packaging I could see it was pvc rather than leather and the smell was definitely not the smell of new leather.
So, I emailed them, numerous times going back and forth. Eventually, in spite of their advertising promise of easy, free returns I was told to send it back to the manufacturer in China and that I would be responsible for all costs including postage, packaging, customs clearance and VAT, only after they had recieved it and were happy there was no damage, would they refund me. In the same email, they gave me the option of a 20% discount if I accepted the bag as is.
By now I was fuming and told them I was taking my complaint to trading standards but they didn't even reply. So I phoned trading standards via CAB, they were very helpful but what they advised wasn't really any good in my case, the effort was too much for a small reward. What did come out of the experience though was that in the address given online, there was no post code which Trading Standards flagged as a typical sign of a ''dodgy'' advertisment, they checked the address and also found it was non-existent. So, I finally admitted that I'd been conned and so accepted the discount of £10 or 20%, and cut my losses.
So, beware of Dorothy Bags unless you're in the market for an overpriced pvc handbag, made in China!

Oh my goodness I've defo been scammed....the bag I received is absolute rubbish and smells very unpleasantly of fish. I did not read reviews which I should have done.....and wish I had. I am £30 out of pocket that I would rather have given to a charity....How do these people sleep at night. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. ..

My PU "leather" (Polyurethane) creation arrived two weeks ago.
Hand made? certainly not.
I have emailed "Dorothy" 6 times asking for a RETURNS ADDRESS.
Nothing from Dorothy except ads to purchase more.
And I added 10% tip. Must check Trustpilot next time before I shop again on line with unknown businesses.

I recieved a small bag through my letter box,inside was a nasty smelling piece of folded plastic ? pretending to be a £30 leather bag......Im 88 and cant send photos, so I guess there is nothing I can do....an easy £30 for someone, Im disgusted......

I purchased what was led to believe was a genuine leather handbag. To my horror when it arrived it was a cheap and nasty item. Not leather as stated but a piece of tat. Plastic horrible nasty thing. This is definitely a scam.

My handbag arrived today and is Chinese rubbish. Definitely faux leather, the lining is plastic and not made in the UK but China. I shall be returning mine but I hope not to China. Stay well away.

The bags a cheap synthetic plastic material badly made. I wouldn’t pay a government for them. “Dorothy BagsUK” is a sweat shop (probably) based in Hong Kong. They charge tee turns (illegal in UK) in the hope people won’t bother.

This is a total scam as the bag I received is not the bag it was described to be. Made of cheap vinyl and not leather. I should have learned my lesson on ordering from the internet. I'm sure this "company" is laughing all the way to the bank. The purse is so cheap looking I would be embarrassed to even carry it. I wish something could be done with these places regarding false advertising!

I wish I had thought to check out this company on Trustpilot before ordering. Maybe I should also have stopped to wonder why a bag with an original price of £225 would be selling for £29.99. The website is very convincing and foolishly I fell for it. Once I realised through emails it was coming from overseas despite the UK address on the website alarm bells started to ring. Cheap synthetic tat. Asked for a refund. Hah no chance.

Misleading advertising does not show chinese company. Poor quality goods. Impossible to get address to return goods and no mention that you will have to pay postage to China!

I suspected this was a scam when I didn't receive the bag. When I emailed the reply was prompt - in Chinese!! All the proof I needed! Further emails followed, this time in English, when I learned that the parcel had landed at an International Airport. Where it is now is anyone's guess. If it ever arrives I'm sure one of the charity shops will sell it for what it's apparently really worth, about £3, and someone will appreciate it. But not me.
Update: The bag finally srrived, and like others reported, was cheap plastic and stunk. After the smell wore off I donated it straight to the Charity Shop where no doubtsomeone would be happy to pay a few pounds for it. Wasn't worth anything more.
