Absolutely disgusting told one thing on the phone and wasted my time for waiting in for them they only want to cherry pick things that they want they say they offer a Clerance service bull shit they don’t.
Do not waste your time.
Surprisingly awful after good…
Surprisingly awful after good experience prior.
Changed quoted price 3 times, cancelled booking at last minute and delayed for 3 weeks, whilst also increasing the price by over 50% original quote.
Quick and efficient.
Quick and efficient collection of an unwanted double bed. Would recommend.
Dorset Reclaim not "Working"
4 years ago bought a 4 foot wardrobe from Dorset Reclaim. No longer needed so offered to donate it back. Bearing in mind Dorset Reclaim delivered the wardrobe to the bedroom it was needed for, I was astounded for the collection crew to come up with a load of excuses not to take it. sharp intake of breath, shaking of head, told to big as most customers live in flats, wonder how they manage with 3 seater settees. One even came up the stairs to landing where we had moved it to and shook the wardrobe saying it would fall apart if they tried to move it???? In my opinion to idle to take it and now instead of going to someone who would really need it, we are going to break it up and take to the tip. Dorset Reclaim, if you are reading this? "Get some workers who want to work, you knew what was coming, you had it on your files from when we bought it, you didn't say anything when delivery was booked to say it would be "to big!"
PS NEVER ENTERING YOUR STORE AGAIN!
Expect new stuff for free
Didn't phone ahead like they promised, turned up nearly an hour and a half after the time slot they gave me ended. Then they lied to my wife claiming that was what was agreed with me, which it certainly wasn't.
Then proceeded to criticise the sofas we were trying to donate, which were expensive, a high quality brand, not that old and absolutely immaculate as they were always covered. They clearly didn't want to bother with them, as they then started this pathetic charade where tried to point out fictional "stains" that didn't exist, then started moaning they "weren't contemporary enough" and left them. This despite me describing them when booking the collection and just being informed "if they are in generally good condition and have fire labels on them"
According to them, unless they were effectively brand new they weren't interested in them. So why waste all our time then? Absolute jokers.
So much for a charity that according to it's own PR puff exists "to supply furniture & white goods to families on low incomes in Dorset".
It would appear in our experience that the collectors were acting more like a retail secondhand furniture business, selectively cherry picking only the most potentially valuable and desirable donations for free and rejecting the rest, regardless of their real condition and fitness for purpose.
The whole thing has left an extremely sour taste. I will be far more careful in future in checking who we donate to.
Seamless, professional removal job. We needed to have a very heavy old 3…
We needed to have a very heavy old 3 seater settee taken away plus a heavy old armchair. Communication by phone and email with Poole Bulky Household Service was seamless. Lovely lady on the phone to arrange date and time slot, all for a very reasonable price compared with others. Shaun and Ryan were professional, cheerful and respectful and got the job done in no time at all, not only without a murmur of acknowledgement as to how heavy the items were, but reassuring us that it was no problem for them. Thank you Dorset Reclaim, and thank you Shaun and Ryan. Dream Team! God bless you for the great work you do.
Professional, Helpful & Friendly
We had several items of furniture to be collected. Booking was easy & all of the staff we were in contact with, were very helpful. Two vans were needed on the collection day & they arrived in the time slot given. The guys were polite & efficient, being careful when removing & loading the furniture. I would strongly recommend this organisation.
Really great service
Booking the collection was really easy and lady on phone very pleasant. The two chaps who collected mattress were likeable and polite. Would recommend. Don't understand some of these reviews but I suppose it depends on who the operatives are.
Extremely helpful…

Appalling Customer Service
Appalling Customer Service,
Day and time booked for furniture collection a week in advance , phoned after 2 hour slot had expired by 3 hours to be told they now can not collect until a week later . Courtesy call would have been nice ….won’t be using or recommending you ..Get your act together !!!
Will never use dorset reclaim again
Will never use dorset reclaim again. They are meant to be charity. Gave them a new mattress today never been used. There reply was it has mould on it. Which it didn't. As I would never give a mouldy mattress to anyone. But they are going to charge someone a lot of money for that.
No Return Call
Called number on there website and got asked to call a different office, called that office and always answer machine, left message and call never returned. Was for a mattress collection and initially contact them because I believe they are used by a local authority, so would be a trusted provider.
Tried an alternative provider who was very responsive and provided excellent service
Terrible Service
Difficult to get hold of, no response to emails, driver apparently couldn’t find the property but is seen stopped outside on CCTV then driving off, now told there is a 4 week wait to get furniture collected. They might be cheap, but my furniture is still sitting on the driveway 🙁
From an ex worker
With all the one stars on here from customs heres a one star from a ex-employee. It was crap working there with crap pay and even though I was promised the money I was own and any holiday paid, I got nothing and still waiting for my p45. I left working for them about 2 months ago mainly because I had a injury that I had for about 10 months that wasn't really getting better, some days it hurt to stand or walk. My manager knew but didn't care about, she cared that little that some days I had to tank myself up on pain killers because I had to cover someone who turns up and say that they're got a bad back or ill to have an easy day.
Keeping with the manager, she was more focused on what other depots were doing instead of running her own, in fact she was more focused on having nothing to do with her depot than anything else. Quite a lot she would disappear for hours or hind out the way getting high on drugs. Her other work hobbies is trying to get people sacked. A few weeks before I left, she spent a day looking on the Internet trying to find anything to get the Dorchester manager sacked and she did. After this I felt that I was her next target.
I find it hard to believe this company…
I find it hard to believe this company is even called a charity??? They are supposed to be for people on low income or benefits. If your a single person you only get a £300 loan which will barley get you 2 items to furnish your new home!!! Considering they get given and even charge for the collection of second hand furniture, they are a complete RIP OFF and so I have been told they only donate 3% of they're takings to Charity!!!!??? Why has Dorset Council not looked into this from the obvious amount of bad experiences and reviews???? How can they can be so fussy when their furniture is donated then overprice everything and mostly all of they items only last a few months after being purchased. Gumtree and Facebook Marketplace are considerably much cheaper. They charge extortionate prices for rubbish and even more extortionate prices for SECOND HAND DONATED FURNITURE. Very disheartening and cannot understand how they can live with them selves ripping people who clearly only ask to buy the necessary items at reasonable prices to live a comfortable life.
one star but would have…
Had to give one star but would have preferred 0
This so called company were notified of a full home clearance. Sent a list of everything that needed collecting . 70% of which was of new condition and only 18 months old.
3 very unhelpful men turned up on the day . Unfriendly,
scruffy, with minimum amount of vocabulary. They
refused to take any items with the slightest of markings. These were on the older furniture. They suggested they would take the items off our hands if, WE payed them a considerable amount of money per item. Even though, they would have made a considerable amount of money on the new furniture which they had taken already. Not forgetting the nearly new fridge freezer and electric cooker. (Only 18 months old )Would definitely NOT recommend this company or the greedy , unhelpful, rude, miserable bunch of cowboys that came out on the day. They were the rubbish . Not the items they had come to collect!
Dreadful company
Dreadful company. Arranged for them to collect a mattress and then waited in half the day and they didn’t even show. My advice would be to donate your items for free on Gumtree or Freecycle.
Donate elsewhere!
This 'charity' has very questionable practices. They are ran more like a well oiled capitalist company.
They do not deserve to be operating in our lovely county of Dorset when they pick and choose who to serve.
They deliver to Hampshire but not to the Purbeck area. They claim that they are 'Dorset' Reclaim when they hire transport managers with high wages that refuses to deliver 20 mins away (in Dorset) unless its over £150 (for a charity this is just... wow!)
I don't think this is in their official policy just what 'Cat' and her manager decided thats how much money they need for them to move and do their job.
Absolutely disgusted in this…
Absolutely disgusted in this organisation so I call up a few weeks back ordered a cooker as I am moving into a property ordered one paid over the phone told them the time I needed it for on the Friday which they showed up early and as I didn’t have my keys by then I had to wait till Monday to finally get hold of them and told they couldn’t deliver them so I go for a refund which the stupid women behind the counter said it would be there today so I could go else where for a cooker only to be told by the manager that it could take upto 3 working days so I’m now have to spend more money on take out food for me and my six year old daughter to eat would definitely not recommend these morons
