Absolutely terrible service
This charity does not deserve Dorset in the title as they are a complete joke and not worthy of representing this lovely county. We had a set of dark furniture to donate and explained over the phone what it entailed and they appeared interested however when they looked at the furniture it became evident that were looking for any little excuse not to take perfectly good furniture. Donors please be aware that they are so picky and selective that we will certainly not be contacting them again and will actively discourage anyone we know not to use this charity.
Appalling
Appalling! Would have given no stars if possible. Knew I'd have to pay to remove 2 items but in the "opinion" of the driver almost all my donation was also worthless. Incredible excuses (no-one wants brown furniture, that electric leather recliner has a scuff) by the driver. Ended up paying £60 to remove the bigger pieces as I have to have the space by tomorrow. Still left with 6 perfectly good dining chairs and a coffee table as I ran out of money. Lesson learnt! Forget donating, hire a van for half a day and visit the council tip. MUCH cheaper!
What a joke of a service
What a joke of a service! Drivers were rude, one moved the sofa onto my foot which hurt, while the other driver advised me to punch him! Then they got a torch out and looked at every part of the sofa and cushions for stains. They found 1 small water stain and refused to take it. They said their customers are fussy and stupid! They walked in dirt on my new rug which I’ll have wash now. I phoned them up to confirm they were coming before hand, they didn’t say hello when they picked up I was greeted with 5 seconds of silence, I had to initiate the conversation, then he asked me if I rang in!?? What did he think was happening?? The whole process made me feel like I was a trouble for them, not once did they say thank you for a donation! At no point did the office say a small water stain would mean refusal, I couldn’t even see the stain until they found it on very close inspection. Save yourself the aggravation and go with someone else or freecycle. Avoid at all costs.
Utterly shocking
Utterly shocking. No wonder why fly tipping happens. "Sign this, so if we damage your property it ain't our fault". What, it's a sofa, take your time, I'm paying £36, you are still providing a service. When I questioned maybe just take care, I was told "well you can take your £36 back and do it yourself". I'm heavily pregnant by the way. Disgusting attitudes. Last time I ever use your service.
Very rude staff
Very rude staff. Decided to donate a Divan Bed instead of sell it and waited longer than a week for collection. When the drivers where to collect it started to take it as it comes in 2 parts and it said it was too small (4Ft 6 ) and left it in there. Called the office in Bournemouth and another rude person couldn't even explain what happened. Jokes.
Donated sofa
Donated sofa through Bournemouth branch, the guys who arrived to collect were very helpful.
Very good service.
I contacted Dorset Reclaim to collect two old mattresses which I couldn't take to the dump. Arrangements were made easily, the crew kept us informed as to when they would arrive and they were efficient and polite when they arrived, even clearing away cardboard which I had put down to keep the mattresses off the ground. Well worth the cost.
