Problems with getting overcharged
I used their umbrella service at the Braid Hills hotel in Edinburgh. The first umbrella I got from the stand had 2 disconnected spokes. I showed this to the hotel receptionist who was able to give me another one. I then returned the umbrella to the stand that evening, thinking it rather strange that there is no confirmation that the umbrella has been returned.
Two days later I noticed that my bank account has a pending charge of £17 to Dripdrop, as well as the expected £3 charge.
I first of all contacted the hotel who said they would look into it. I then went onto the Dripdrop website and filled in their web form asking for a refund, and also sent them an email. I got an email reply very quickly for the web form message saying they would look into it and let me know the outcome. So hopefully I will be refunded. However their umbrella system is not working consistently as can be seen from some of the reviews here, and should be more reliable and include a way of issuing a receipt once the umbrella is returned.
I have increased this rating from 1 to 2 stars because Dripdrop responded promptly and have now refunded the £17, and also the £3 hire charge. However, based on the number of complaints on this site I do think they need to improve how their umbrella stands operate.

Best ever customer service from Anne
I rented an umbrella from London Tavistock hotel. the process was simple and great value. Unfortunately whilst out for lunch in a restaurant my umbrella was stolen. I contacted Anne in customer services to explain the situation and can't praise her enough for the way she dealt with me. She turned the problem into a positive experience which made my day. Thank you Anne. Often customer services these days is a bot or online chat which never satisfies or solves the problem. As a result of my experience I will go out of my way to use dripdrop again and tell my friends & colleagues. One good turn deserves another.

Scammy vibes, terms of service unclear
I rented an umbrella at the Moxy in Bergen, after you enter your card, the stand stated that it was 30NOK for 72 hours. After two days I was charged again at approximately 280NOK. It hadn't even been 72 hours yet.
The stand didn't actually tell you the price until you scan your card either.
Also, the stand tells you nothing about how much it costs to keep the umbrella after the initial period. I would assume it was 30NOK for another 72 hours, because there is no other information on the stand.
So, I basically paid for the cost to buy an umbrella, even though I returned it to the kiosk.
Terms of service are very unclear.
Also, there is no way to actually get a receipt for your rental.

Great Customer Service
Rented one of their umbrellas in Geneva recently and unfortunately was delayed in returning it within the 48 hours. I dropped a line to them to explain what had happened and had a very professional and understanding response from Natalia resulting in the ‘fine’ being refunded to my account. So refreshing to receive that kind of response from a business. Excellent Customer Service, would definitely use them again.
Great support team
Great support team! Very quick and friendly answers! They did not let me alone in the rain! Thanks
Don't listen to the naysayers
Hi
For those who say this is a scam ignore it. This is a first class service.
I hired an umbrella in Cologne and due to bad weather got back 5 hours late for the 48 hour deadline. Yes, my card was charged 18 euro. I scanned the QR code on the stand and completed the VERY simple refund request.
Within 24 hours I was contacted by a very helpful Micayla who asked me to confirm my card details and within the 5 working days promised I received a full refund of the 18euro.
Lovely people to deal with and a VERY polite and helpful service.
Thank you 😊
Yep. Scammers.
Yep, like a few of you here, they charged me £18 despite me returning the umbrella within less than 24hrs.
Frankly this is unacceptable, do you charge people with the hopes they won't check pending transactions and statements? Is that how you make a profit.
You've breached the terms and conditions set out in your own rental policy. I paid the rental deposit, and you charged me £18 less than 24hrs later despite me having returned the umbrella to the stand I took it from initially. I will be expecting a refund. Or I'm escalating this.

Getting a repeat customer!
I rented two of their umbrellas at a hotel in Copenhagen on the 24th this month. They apparently had some issue with the umbrella station where it did not properly detect that I had returned one of the two umbrellas I rented. I didn’t think much of it at first, but two days later I was charged an unexpected fee.
I reached out to them and they handled the situation perfectly. They promised to refund the fee they charged me, along with the rental fees I paid, and they didn't have to go that far. They were also extremely understanding and pleasant throughout the whole interaction.
Shoutout to Anne who handled my case with such care! To whoever of the corp overlords at the company is reading this - she’s probably your best employee and deserves a raise!
I travel a lot both personally and for work, so I’ve seen their umbrellas in a number of hotels around the world but I had never tried them until last week. This whole thing could have put me off using their services in the rainy countries I visit, but they handled it so well that I will surely be a repeat customer and share it with all my travel buddies!
SCAMMERS BEWARE
SCAMMERS BEWARE! Returned umbrella securely back to the hotel in Cork on 26th October 30 minutes after hiring. Charged €2 as expected and made sure it was definitely secured. Two days later they have charged my card an extra €18!!!

Review for Dripdrop Umbrella Service
I recently used the Dripdrop Umbrella service during my stay at the Citybox Tallin Hotel in Estonia. While the service itself was convenient, I initially faced an issue with the billing. I borrowed an umbrella for the stated fee, returning it the same evening. However, I later noticed an additional charge on my account, which was concerning.
I contacted the support team to resolve the issue, they were very responsive. After confirming the umbrella had been returned on the same day, they processed refund of the extra amount.
On a positive note, I was happy to learn that my rental led to a seedling being planted! 🌳🌳
Overall, I had a good experience and would recommend Dripdrop Umbrella Service.
Very convenient service
Very convenient service. Easy to use and very quick in positively responding to an issue that arose with a mix up in the return of two umbrellas.
Great service and super convenient
Really convenient experience of renting…
Really convenient experience of renting the Umbrella. The process of renting is quite simple and straightforward, had a bit of issue with being charged for the use (system must have not detected) but prompt customer service was provided and refund was initiated. Also very eco-friendly option.
Convenient in Glasgow
It was a rainy day in Glasgow and we knew we were going to do a lot of walking in and out of places to see. Our hotel lobby at Yotel Glasgow had a rental umbrella stand. We paid the low and reasonable rental fee and away we went. Returned the umbrella later in the day as we returned to our room warm and dry! Great service for traveling guests.
Great customer experience
I had an issue with an umbrella rental at the Holiday Inn London - Oxford Circus, and the Dripdrop team, especially Anne, handled it exceptionally well. They promptly investigated the problem and processed a full refund without hesitation. Anne's professionalism and the team's commitment to customer satisfaction were impressive. Thank you for the great service!
Great idea
Great idea, really easy to use and saved me from a downpour in Newcastle upon tyne recently, as it was July i wasn't expecting heavy rain. £2 for 48 hrs rental was very reasonable also. I had a minor issue with the return but their customer service was excellent.
