Racially abused by Drivalia Alicante Staff. Book from literally anywhere else!!!

Blatant racism and dishonesty at pickup. Avoid Drivalia (especially Alicante).
We were first helped by a member of staff called Maria, who genuinely tried to assist us. That ended the moment her supervisor stepped in. He refused to give his name, was rude from the start, and claimed the charge was not a deposit on the car but a “negligence deposit.” I showed him written confirmation from DoYouSpain (the agency we booked the car through) stating there was no deposit on the booking, and he dismissed it out of hand.
What followed was open racism. We are a group of six Middle Eastern lads, and when we raised our concerns he made a racist comment, telling us “this is not Marrakesh Market.” There is no other word for that than racism, and coming from a supervisor representing Drivalia it is disgraceful. He then spent the rest of the interaction shutting down Maria’s attempts to help us, undermining the one person who treated us with any decency.
I only agreed to pay the deposit because he personally guaranteed it would be returned to my card the instant I brought the car back. That mattered, as I had another deposit to pay the very same day. I returned the car exactly as agreed and the money did not come back that day. It took until the following day, leaving me stuck without funds I had been promised.
Between the racism, the dishonesty and the broken promise, this single experience ruined a large part of the holiday for me and the five people I was travelling with. The racist treatment alone should be enough to make anyone think twice before handing this company and their discriminatory staff any money. Avoid Drivalia.

One star is going overboard

One star is going overboard. . Horribly unorganized and chaotic pickup experience. First car came with a soaking wet passenger seat, as if they had washed it with the window open. Made to wait an hour outside in the scorching heat for them to a new car. Sure, we understand these things happen, but it gets worse. .

Denied all insurance at the counter. Was subsequently billed for additional insurance. After the bill was already settled, a sneaky email came in saying that there was an additional charge.

Zero customer service afterwards.

It's common practice for these companies to try to bill in excess of what you've approved verbally, Drivalia is certainly doing this.

Customer service for three weeks and not returning any of the emails .

Avoid this company at all costs. They might come in less expensive at times, but you're going to pay later.

Recommend Angel at Drivalia Alicante for Help

Cannot recommend Angel at Drivalia Alicante Airport highly enough. We came in needing a longer-term car and Angel went well above and beyond to sort us out. He took the time to understand exactly what we needed, talked us through the options properly, and arranged a great-value bridging rental for two weeks while we got things set up. No pressure, no hard sell, just genuinely helpful service.

One thing worth flagging for others: the 12-month CarCloud subscription requires a Spanish driving licence, which we were not made aware of anywhere on the website beforehand. It would save people a lot of confusion if that were stated clearly online. To Angel’s credit, he handled the situation brilliantly and found us a solution on the spot rather than just turning us away.

If you’re picking up a car at Alicante Airport, ask for Angel, you’ll be in excellent hands. Thank you again!

Initial issue resolved quickly - great service!

At first, there were some slight miscommunications. However, Anas went above and beyond to help us resolve everything. He honors his agreements and even provided us with a free upgrade. The whole process was smooth and professional, and any initial confusion was quickly cleared up. I'm very happy with the overall service and would gladly recommend Drivalia to anyone looking to rent a car in Spain.

Drivalia in Alicante…

I've recently rent a car in Alicante and my experience was excellent! The customer service provided by Leandro was great and the best so far in all the times I've rented a car. The attention to details and the way he helped me was astonishing. If you visit Alicante and want to rent a car, Drivalia is great. 1000% recommend

Dodgy directions

Directions from arrivals to meeting point were poor. You don’t have to use the moving walkway, despite the instructions saying that you do! Also, we didn’t see any signs for ‘Otros VTC’.

Sabrina welcomed us very hospitably

Sabrina welcomed us very hospitably. Dropping the car back was super quick and efficient. Our ride to the airport terminal was ready and waiting. Very polite staff. We would recommend using their services.

The best car hire experience ever!

We regulalry hire vehicles abroad & I can safely say that Drivalia at Alicante airport is the best overall experience we have ever receivex. In an industry that is fraught with poor service & efficiency , Drivalia proved that it can be done! Extra thanks to the lady on arrival in the office & both drivers on the transfer journies who were friendly and efficient.

If I could have given a zero rating I would

If I could have given lower review I would. We booked the car for pick up in Palma: wait time to get the car was 2.5 hours . We had to stand outside in the heat of 37c for one hour. No water provided. This is real hazard.
We had a prepaid booking : After waiting, they told us they do not accept Amex as a credit card (for security ) ; they did not accept any of our debit cards or prepayment of extra deposit, they demanded we pay extra for their insurance which cost us the same as car rental. After that we had to wait for another 30 min to get a car . 3 hours in total , they said it can be the same to drop the car .
advice : do not use this company. Awful services

Really impressed with the Ford Focus — it made the whole rental experience a pleasure. Comfortable seats, responsive handling, and great fuel economy made every journey easy and enjoyable. The interior was clean, well laid out, and everything worked exactly as it should. Spacious enough for luggage without feeling bulky to drive. Would absolutely choose this car again — highly recommended!

We had no damage at all but there was a little scratch.. 0.001 mm we had to pay 204€ .. not one other company would react the same..

Alberto helped us and was really professional and helped us very good. The BCN officice service was good!
The shuttlebus to and from the airport works very well! You don’t have to wait long!
