Check the service records

I bought a Zoe, 2 years old last October . When I put it in for the first MOT this June it failed as the brake pads were so shot I was advised not to drive it. I was curious about this as I had been assured that it had a full service record. It turns out the last service had indicated the brakes needed urgent attention. So a full record of incomplete service. Not my idea of a full service record!
Their response was in effect it was all my fault as I hadn't read the service documents (that will teach me to take someone at their word) and that it had an MOT before I bought it. I proved there was no existing MOT (a ridiculous claim as it is so easy to check). So, a car less than a year after I bought it cost me £650 to fix this to get through MOT due to an underlying fault at point of sale. Very friendly sales force but once it's yours they accept no liability. They pass you onto a lawyer ASAP
Will use main dealer next time

Lovey Car Poor After Sales

Well its been 8 months and still no date set for a repair promised in September when we bought the car. Tried a few contacts but given the excuse that a back up car was not ready. Also reported a strange noise with reversing within 3 months apparent warranty period - again no serious response.
I sent them an internal review hoping it might jog them but the reality is they sell lovely cars but don't really want the responsibility of after care that any normal used car dealership would offer sadly.
Wanted to return to upgrade in a couple of years but this has probably dented that sadly.

Worst car buying experience ever.

Worst car buying experience ever.

I bought a Renault Zoe from them in 2022, because of the distance I was unable to view the vehicle in person.

For two weeks I requested pictures/videos of the car, but due to a change in staff I was constantly met with excuses - at the time Zoe cars were selling very fast so I put down a £500 non-refundable deposit before seeing images of the car, a massive regret in hindsight.

On the morning of the delivery I was finally sent a video of the car, which detailed damage to three alloys, the driver's seat and scratches all across the front paint work - which I was assured would be filled in before delivery (they were not).

I had not been warned of any damage and had been told the car was in excellent condition. A lie, clearly.

Because the delivery was that day, I felt pressured to not cancel as there was a non refundable £500 deposit. They also refused to reduce the price based on the new information stating it was built into the price of the car.

The car arrived that afternoon (the delivery driver was lovely) and I felt further pressured to accept the car due to the possible £600 delivery charge if the car was sent back to them - £300 to deliver, and £300 to take it back to them if not accepted.

The only compensation they provided me was a paint damage filler pen, which they bought off Amazon for ~£20.

After a long conversation over the phone I was told nothing could be done and no reduction in price could be made. I was pressured into completing the purchase and almost a year on I wish I had not.

Worst experience I have ever had, the actions of Drive Green in this instance scream of anti-consumer practices.

I would never use they service again.

Thoroughly recommended - the best way to buy an electric car.

Drive Green are on a mission to do things differently - to be better, and to help educate people in sustainable living. Having just bought my first EV from Drive Green, I have nothing but praise for them. I spent considerable time researching the vehicle before purchase, and DG's film clips and information were some of the best out there on the web. Their website is extremely informative on all aspects of buying and owning an EV. On Visiting, Reece was an absolute pleasure to deal with in every respect. He could not have been more helpful and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. We were able to discuss the merits of other cars as well as taking out another car for a test run. All our questions were answered to our full satisfaction, and after purchasing our first EV, Reece gave a thorough and comprehensive hand over. Buying a car can ( but shouldn't) be a daunting experience. Buying from Drive Green was an absolute pleasure and actually is something more than just buying a car. It is about a move to a more sustainable life style and a better way of living. Drive Green are to be commended on their approach in every respect and are a company I value and trust. I cannot recommend Reece and the team at Drive Green highly enough.

We bought our Renault Zoe from Drive…

We bought our Renault Zoe from Drive Green and are completely delighted with both the car itself and the advice provided pre-sale by Reece and the team at Drive Green.
It was so informative and reassuring to talk through the various options on a couple of visits, and to be given the confidence to make the switch to our first ev with their after sales service guarantee.
I have recommended Drive Green to everyone who has admired our new car! Thank you all, a superb experience.

Friendly and cheerful help from Reece…

Friendly and cheerful help from Reece Cleverly made my purchase a pleasurable experience, and any nerves about driving an EV for the first time eased with Reece's help. Phone calls were returned very promptly and I feel confident that the after sales help offered would be forthcoming if I needed it. Would throughly recommend this company

This is the second time I have bought…

This is the second time I have bought from Drive Green, and so have several friends. I would not go anywhere else. Excellent service. Reece Cleverly was delightful. Even though I booked to look at one car, about which he was very knowledgeable and had clearly done his homework, he was equally impressive about a different car that caught my eye - even though it had only arrived that morning! Reece had just the right combination of enthusiasm, professional friendliness and courtesy whilst never giving the "hard sell". Once Id decided on the car I wanted he and the other staff went out of their way to get it available for me ASAP. I LOVE my car and thank all the team at Drive Green, especially Reece.

A Real Disappointment

I wanted to upgrade my Zoe and booked to look at the 3 that they had. I was assured that all were available, so I test drove my favourite, but when I got back, I was told it was sold. I got a definite figure to purchase my next favourite allowing for the part exchange of my current car. The following day when I contacted them to say "yes", they reduced my P/X by £95.00 because the service was due in 2 months time. However, I did proceed and paid the deposit and arranged a collection day. Later, I got a phone call effectively calling the deal off by saying they'd made a mistake on my Zoe P/X and that it would cost me another £1400.00 if I still wanted to proceed! I would therefore warn anyone to be very cautious about dealing with this company - professional they're not!!!!

Poor communication, Poor Aftersales, Poor Customer Service

My initial review was tinged with excitement of getting an EV. The car I brought is a Leaf. And a lot of the functionality is dependent on a SD card. The SD was missing. But I was assured it would only be a matter of days to be resolved. Over 5 weeks later I am now incredibly frustrated at the lack of an ETA or communication from Drive Green. It is claimed that the delay is with the Nissan dealership. I didn’t mention their poor communication in my first review. But communication via phone or email appalling. No response to phone voices messages. And days to get a response to email. And I am now always having to chase up. It would appear that they are like every last typical second hand car dealer, in that the moment they have your money and you’re off their forecourt they will have no interest in you at all. I would strongly advise that you are absolutely sure that the car is 100% before you drive off. As my experience of even getting a simple SD card has been forecast a 3 month turn around.

Dreadful service.

Dreadful service.
Very disappointed, after putting down a deposit I picked up the car 2 weeks later.
When I picked it up as agreed, it wasn't even clean inside, I had to ask them to clean it.
It was then that I discovered a tear to the inside roof, that they didn't even mention, or show on any pictures/advert details, but worse still the INSIDE of the windscreen has 8 deep scratch lines so bad your fingernail gets stuck in, which they also didn't mention, they said it must have been garden machinery but also not mentioned.
It's that bad I'm going to have to get the windscreen replaced.
Their resolution is for me to hand back the car and refund me. This is not an option as I live 98 miles away.
At the time of all this, the sales man threw in a 'free' charger, so they obviously knew it wasn't good service.
The charger does not solve the windscreen and I'm waiting for the manager to contact me. I seriously wouldn't have bought the car but it's too late now. The only option is for them to pay for a new windscreen. Very disappointed.
I've now had a reply to say they are referring me to their legal team, and not repacing the windscreen, meaning they have washed their hands of this.all I asked for was the windscreen to be replaced, as it's damaged, I'm not after any discount or cash even though it's not as described.i work in customer service and this is not what i would expect. The sales man ed didn't like the fact I questioned why they are closed wed and was very off with me. I gave them 5 days to phone me but they didn't want to know hence the review, which is a real shame, I hope they can learn from this and when the car isn't as described they correct the issues.had I known it was damaged I would not have bought the car and it should have been advertised correctly and priced accordingly.such a shame drive green

I do not normally write reviews

I do not normally write reviews. Drive-Green, please sort your communication issues out, as I understand the frustration of the previous review but in their defence they had more sales in one day then in a week and Ben who by the way blow me out of the water with his knowledge and expertise was away sick so I have given them some slack. As for the BMW i3 I received, it was AMAZING. I can not tell you how much I love the car, for a secondhand car it turned up looking and feeling like new. VERY PLEASED

The service here is absolutely awful

The service here is absolutely awful. I dealt with "Ed" who was unable to return calls, dodged all communications and this was to try and buy a car from them! I absolutely would say to go elsewhere. It's sad to see that they've had good ratings in the past but my experience is totally the opposite.

Great service from the first phone call to the keys…

Great service, from the first phone call to the keys hand over, Drive Green are a lovely company and you can clearly tell they are a team. Ben was my sales person. We hit it off from the start. He had a really lovely persona and was professional and helpful the entire time.
They where very knowledgable and offered me a great part exchange for my, Cough cough, Diesel car.
Highly Recomended and I/m glad to say the MG ZS EV made it all the way back to London on the 115 mile trip!
The trip there was lovely and the trip back only slightly scary due to the fact that the car wasn’t quite charged fully. I made it back in one piece and forgive them that minor hiccup due to the totally positive buying experience. A lovely bunch. Thanks.

Perfect, professional EV sales

At every stage of our second-hand EV purchase from Drive Green we were in the hands of people who knew what they were talking about and are passionate about sharing their knowledge. The whole experience of buying a Zoe has been a joy, especially as this is our first EV. Drive Green are honest and genuinely helpful. Their ‘hand-over’ videos on YouTube are easy to follow and valuable to newbies. Superb service from start to finish.
