poor service
Got our hire car from Hertz Dublin.Poor service Terrible vehicle considering we had ordered a Mazda626 or equivalent and got a breadvanie a citeron van.Wont use Hertz again

Very Easy Location
We got picked up from Heathrow airport by the Euro Car bus and taken to there depo. We took a number and waited for a counter to call us, it was a bit of a wait but all the counters were operating it was a busy time that we were there. We got to pick any car from the middle size catology that we had booked. Very easy to get out of london as the car company was so close to the M25 and had no problems when we returned the car. Would use your company again
Easy & straight forward
The process was really easy & straight forward. All in NZ dollars. Paid up front, which made it simple & clear at the french end.
Recommened & we will used them again next year when we go back!!
Poor experience with the car provider.
Had to wait two hours in Venice on a stinking hot day to get our car (with 3 kids). When we finally did get our car it had broken air con and we had to wait to get a new car which was nothing like the car we had booked. Best we can say is it may not have been driveaway's fault but rather Avis. But very disappointing.

DriveAway Holidays were all they said and more. We had no problems whatsoever from picking up the car to drop off. Local staff were very friendly and helpful. Would use again and recommend.
Seemed efficient enough and airport transfers were excellent - choice of rental car on their website was a bit vague.
We needed a large vehicle for 5 people and on their website I selected the class containing a Jeep Cherokee or similar.
When we got there the selection offered was only a "large car" which meant a 4 door saloon like a Toyota Camry. No Jeeps to be found ! Luckily we packed soft bags so it all squeezed in.
The Garmin they gave us was VERY useful particularly for a Kiwi driving in a totally alien environment on the wrong side of the road.
Either that or your Google-maps on a smartphone is a must.
But the weird thing on the Garmin was - the address of the rental company could not be found !!! So we couldn't use it to find our way back. No amount of trying worked. So Google on the smart-phone to the rescue. You'd think these guys would make sure they gave you an address that would come up on the nav system.
Everything else was just fine. Would use them again.

Antipodeans appreciate Dover car hire
We used Driveaway as we have used them before and found them both reliable and cost effective. We two Kiwis arrived in Dover on a cruise ship, picked up our hire car and drove it to Devon. It was a one way hire so we dropped it off in Exeter the next day. This was so much better than the alternatives e.g. train Dover to London, lug suitcases across London on the underground, and then board a train at Paddington to Devonshire.
The car was almost brand new. It was a Hyundai and was incredibly economical with fuel.
As the car hire was prepaid via Driveaway there were no unpleasant arguments over prices either at checking on arrival, nor at drop off.
We shall continue to use Driveaway to source our car hire needs in different countries as we travel a lot.
Easy to book - seamless process
We recently booked a rental car to travel from Phoenix to LA. The standard of car provided was great - it had low kms and was spotless. Collection of the car was easy, as was the car return.
The price was competitive and we were very happy with our experience.

We collected our Europecar from Bayswater, London and the wait for our car and others around us was unacceptable.
Finally a car arrived, not the one we had been promised but an upgrade to a much bigger vehicle which was a mixed blessing in narrow Cotswold village roads.

Would recommend Driveaway to anyone - have used you twice now for 2 trips to the UK and you have been great. This last trip was very stressful as we had booked a car from Penzance in Cornwall after training from London and due to bad weather and the Dawlish line washed out we thought we would have to change plans. All your staff were so helpful with my changes and then going back to original plans due to the line being open again was so great and in the end worked out perfectly - so would have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone. Value for money and the car at the other end are always great. Will book again. Just a small note to all NZ and Australian drivers to be aware of the hand break in a VW Golf new car - not the normal pull up hand break but a button - get used to it before parking on hills or in traffic - I drove for 8 days and still couldn't get used to it. Just be wary.

Everything as planned and a very good rate. They also were quick to respond to questions.
Licensed to drive?
The car was good. Staff were friendly. They fixed a puncture for us part way through the rental period. We were told that they would arrange up the drivers licence police endorsement for us, but this did not happen. Make sure you check this. We were stopped at a police checkpoint, but they let it go. Great holiday.

I was in France and went online to hire a car. It was Friday and by Sunday I had received confirmation and the voucher. Excellent service considering the time zone difference.
