bilbao to Sare in a bambina?

Hi . staff were helpful at collection and drop off. I thought I'd rented a Renault Clio and received a fiat bambina ! Technically, Everything was fine with the car. It would be helpful to have had the return depot entered as a home option. I was unable to find the location.

We luv Driveaway!

There are a lot of consolidators active in the rental car market, but in the end there are very few major companies that actually rent cars - the choice of consolidator is therefore often more important than the choice of provider.. We have done exhaustive searches of consolidators operating in car rental markets in New Zealand, Australia and UK, and there are none better than Driveaway. Their rates are highly competitive (we usually compare them against going direct to the renter ... and Driveaway wins), they use reputable and reliable rental companies, and the price they say you will pay is the price that you end up paying. I wish everyone was as straightforward as this!

Ozzie rental on the ball

We travel a lot and over time have tried various car rental web sites. As a result we have found Driveaway always reliable and gives good value for money, better than many other sites. It is also truly international, so we can use Diveaway in Oz, in Europe etc. When we turn up with our voucher at the car rental desk, there is never any query, the price is as quoted on the www and the car is ready.

poor

I booked an air conditioned van for two weeks in the USA, I had to return the vehicle after just one day, the van shook vigorously, the air con kept breaking down and most of the interior was damaged. When I rang to advise them I would be returning the vehicle, they made my whole family wait 5 hours for a replacement even though we called earlier. The next van looked nicer but half the seat belts didn't work, the air con was not working and in peak summertime you need it working especially with 8 kids travelling 6-8 hour days but the excuse was that it was normal for a 15 passenger vehicle to do this. There was no discount offered only excuses. There vehicles are dangerous so renter beware!!!!

Lowest price and simplest way to hire a car

Lowest price that I have found anywhere. Consistent level of inclusions/exclusions (insurance, kms, etc.) ensures a much better "true" comparison of costs of the different rental companies. I have used them 3 times in 2 different countries and would definitely use them again.

Don't choose a Ford

The service at Driveaway is excellent, both cars they arranged for us were ideal for our needs, with them ready on time, easy to pick up & deliver. The cost wasn't true, there was always more to pay when picking up, so don't get caught short. The advice on pick up was good except that we were up graded to a Ford which didn't like hills & was a bit gutless when trying to accellerate.

Driveaway is great - but Dollar Rental sucks

I've used Driveaway twice -once for a car via Hertz in the UK and last month for a car via Dollar in the US. I strongly recommend they do not offer rentals via Dollar. After a 13 hour flight from NZ I spent two hours in line waiting for the car. The person serving me was unapologetic about the wait and said that it was what I should expect given the price, and was typical of their service. The price difference between the Dollar car and the next one was about $60 - not enough to waste two precious hours of holiday, which also meant I then drove the car in rush hour LA traffic as a result.

Great service - dump Dollar,

Avoid choosing Dollar Car Rentals unless you like 2hr queues

We always book through Drive Away so we can avoid aggressive American sales techniques and select terms and insurance before we arrive jetlagged.
BUT Driveaway should be warning people if they choose Dollar they will have to queue for 2 hrs to get their rental which is not what you need after a 12hr flight to LAX. Plus when we went to get the car they were none in the class so we had to take a smaller less suitable vehicle. This happened to 3 parties in Sep Oct 2013 on different days so beware!!
Apparently they have merged with another rental car coy and it all flows through Dollar to the detriment of the customer.

Cheap easy way to get a rental car in UK

Hi - booked this rental on line - was amazed at the price - was a really good deal and easy to order.

Get to UK and the car was waiting for me as ordered, only issue was getting the paper work done as requires a manual process to get it from DriveAways booking system to Avis's system. But not a biggie - just a 10 min delay.

Also be aware that applicable discounts don't automatically go through, Avis advised that I was eligible for a further discount on the price and applied it. So when picking up, check to see if eligible for any discounts.

But overall a quick, easy and convenient to book a rental car in the UK, DriveAway will be my first stop when next booking an overseas rental.

Excellent!

This is the second time I have used Drive-Away to arrange a rental car in Florida, USA. The website is so easy to use, I feel it is really secure and I like the fact that the rental is paid up front in NZD.
Last year I picked the car up at the Sarasota airport which was not quite as straight forward as this year in Tampa.
So much more is included in the rental plan than booking direct with a rental company. So easy.....

Great service! Awesome fuel efficient vehicles!

I have nothing but good things to say about the service that I have received from everyone from the front counter staff to the girls in the garage checking off the vehicles at Thrifty. I have rented vehicles out of Vancouver Intl Airport 3 or 4 times through Thrifty now and have always had a great vehicle with wonderful fuel efficiency - got 600km on one tank of gas in the VW Jetta that I had on my most recent trip. Also, I got a chipped windshield from a flying stone off another vehicle and there was no problem returning it and picking up another vehicle. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to friends.

Great company to deal with

We have made a number of car hires around the world and to date no problems at all. Thankfully we have not had to make an insurance claim so cannot comment on that.

It is good to be able. to pay in advance of leaving NZ.

The only area for improvement is turnaround time from booking to voucher issue as can be slow on short notice booking.

no option to decline prepaid fuel option

I had to prepay for my tank of gas (over $60 for a Ford Fiesta, which works out to well over $5/gallon even though the local price was $4.35). Since it's impossible to estimate the last few days of driving I returned the car with 1/4 tank, which was just a donation to the rental car company. For that reason I'm unlikely to ever use Driveaway, they should be able to negotiate better deals with their suppliers.
Like all Fords I've ever driven the Fiesta was a flimsy badly designed piece of junk but Dollar wouldn't give me any other make of car instead.

Great service

But email conformation was slow and had to be requested.

Phone contact from overseas was difficult, but helpful when connected.

Other wise service was good and would use your company again.
