Booked a flight that departs abu dhabi around 9am on 16 Sep 2024 and arranged a hotel to stay the night before. Then, Etihad changed my flight to another one that leaves 2:15am and wouldn't allow me to cancel. With any other airline, it would have called for the right to cancel with full refund. But not with Etihad. I tried to book another flight but the prices have gone up.
I'm going to lose the night in the hotel while still having to pay for it. Thanks for nothing, Etihad.
CHAOS ON THE 'HELP LINE'
Due to a family death we needed to change a return flight date.
Online 'Help' was a 90 minute disaster. The agent clearly had no experience & constantly went off
'to check' leaving me hanging for minutes at a time.
£420 to change a ticket date in extortionate, but due to the time she took coming & going the price suddenly jumped to £720.
For HALF THAT PRICE I booked a DIRECT flight with another airline. I took Screenshots that show the timespan. And there is more!!.

Had the most terrible flight on Etihad Airways the food was diabolical in and in edible how they can serve such a trash up to people who paid a lot of money for an E ticket is everybody’s guess I couldn’t even get sweetener for my coffee which I didn’t believe and tried to get the person to come and talk to me and she refused to come and speak with me and sort the problem out the staff are slow and unmotivated things generally on Etihad and I’ve done on them in the last two months it is the total disgrace that staff can be allowed to carry on this way how does one do something about this set up and what kind of airline do they believe they are right at the bottom of the ladder totally useless and very bad on food and service

If I could give this airline less than one star I would. For economy travel their service is non existant. I had an issue with a flight leaving LHR T4 in November. In spite of writing to the Customers Services Director and raising a case number with the customer service portal Nothing. No answers no replies. As a regular flier for my business using many airlines this without a doubt is the worst service ever experienced Do not use this airline!

We had multiple issues with this sorry excuse for an airline during our recent trip. One issue that happened twice during our layover in the Abu Dhabi airport is that they did not deliver on their promise to provide our disabled son with his adapted stroller which he needs to support his weaker muscles while sitting. During our first layover, no solution or compensation for the inconvenience was offered. During our second layover on our return flight, the same exact thing happened, this time I had to spend 1,5 hours discussing with the ground team about receiving the stroller. While we were fighting for our son's stroller, which essentially acts as his wheelchair, one of their representatives even tried to sell me full price access to their lounge. We had done everything correctly both times, informed the airline ahead of time that we needed the stroller during the layover, had it labeled correctly, made sure ground staff was informed during check-in and yet, they still managed to not deliver the stroller at the gate as they should have.
Another issue on our return flight was that we had booked seats towards the front of the plane. When I checked in to the flight, I realised that we were instead assigned seats in the very last row of the plane. Not what we wanted as this would significantly increase our time to get off the plane. Upon requesting a refund, they told us that they would not refund us because they still provided a seat in the same type of seat. Why would I book seats ahead of time at all then, if they're just going to seat me wherever they want? To make things worse, one of their airport employees even told me we would be refunded for not sitting in the proper seat during check-in.
Will never fly with them if at all avoidable!! Stay away from these unreliable thieves!!
Etihad stopover ‘not available’..?!
I booked an Etihad Airways flight including an overnight stopover know as ‘Abu Dhabi Experience’. As this didn’t appear on my invoice I repeatedly emailed and then phoned.
I was told that this stopover ‘was no longer available’..?!
This leaves me with a 15 hour wait at Abu Dhabi for a connecting flight.
Be wary when booking with Etihad Air as this option is still showing for future booking….

When I bought a business class ticket from Lisbon to Bangkok, I expected comfort and all the perks of expensive tariffs. However, when I wanted to change the date of my return flight, I was surprised: instead of $30, they charged me $700 euros. Explanations about "fare rules" left a lot of questions. Even the support couldn’t clearly say where the fee comes from. All they said was “the website calculates it like this”. Unexpected fees and lack of clarity is something you don't expect from business class. I recommend weighing your choices before flying business with Etihad.
Company that pride itself on customer DISSATISFACTION
We booked with Etihad 9 months out from our travel date. They cancelled our flight prior to our departure. I had paid extra for legroom, they did not honour this and worse still are not refunding me the price I paid (in good faith) for the extras.
I have had endless excuses from their online chat but nothing concrete and they do not answer their emails.
Their in flight service was awful.

First Time with Etihad - Excessive Unverifiable Charges
Finally, tried Etihad Airways from New York (JFK) on 9/28/23 to Bangkok (BKK), returning 10/9/23 (Booking Reference 49PZ7J). I heard positive reviews from friends. However, I did experience some disappointment. On the first flight segment from JFK to Abu Dhabi (Flight EY100), both my seat (37G) and my brother’s (37H) were unable to recline, with broken buttons. For an almost 13-hour flight, this made it very uncomfortable, especially for my brother with bad knees. The worst experience was during checking in at Bangkok for the return flight. Additionally, the seats felt narrowed and small for such a long flight. I had two bags, which were overweight. Additionally, I had a painting in a PVC that was less than 40 inches long, and 4 inches wide. Etihad was the only Airline I experienced making me check such a painting in. This addition, plus the excessiveness of another item, resulted in excessive baggage charge by one additional bag. This was infuriating as the painting could have easily fitted in an overhead compartment and the one above my brother only had one bag the whole flight. And as overhead compartments are designed, would have fit in the back lower part without impacting any bag stowage. Etihad charged me the fee of 11,020 Thai Baht or around $335.00 US. I find this not too be a reasonable charge. If it was $70 to $100, fine. But $335 – ridiculous. I checked on their website and could not locate the actual baggage charges to verify the fee. It seems on Etihad website, all the reasonable searches take you to the marketing of purchasing excessive baggage versus actually letting you know what the fee rates are for excessiveness. To counter the above, the flight attendants were outstanding – professional, attentive, and customer service oriented.
Terrible Customer service from Mohamed Sylla
I am owed a refund due to Etihad changing the date of my flight.
This issue is caused by Mr Mohamed Sylla (Sales and Servicing Agent), making many false promises to refund my money, but after 5 months I am still waiting.
Mr Mahomed Sylla is having a huge negative impact on the customer service levels at Etihad.
Be warned - Do not book flights with Etihad. (You can see many reviews of the same situation). Choose a better Airline such as Emirates or Virgin.
The worst company ever
The worst company ever, they broke all 4 wheels of my suitcase and refused to refund it, under the pretext that the suitcase has more than 5 years. I'll never travel with them again, and I don't recommend anyone to travel with them, because when there's a problem, they suck at handling it!

Etihad Airways are a rubbish airline. They agreed to compensate, after many prevaricating emails, me for delayed baggage on trip Manchester to Sydney to the value of £417.86 in April 2023. We are promised a refund for our flight…
We are promised a refund for a flight they changed the plane for on the day so we were demoted to economy from business. 60 working days later (their terms are 45 working days) no result after constant calls. Etihad employee even told us to be ‘patient’ and we have been after no call back after three promises they would.
We are also owed for our return flight where they promised us a full refund, apart from the admin fees, again absolutely nothing.
They have a dreadful system… contact us number can write notes but have no decision power, that’s all done in Dubai by another team/office and you can’t talk to them.

Miscommunication regarding allowed luggage and No service provided during 21 hours stay at airport
Refering to to my booking number which is V8RS3G , I travelled from Karachi to Manchester through Etihad airline on 26th May 2023 .Plz note following things which need to be compensated
1- I was told through email (dated 22 May) that , only 20 Kg of luggage is allowed and whereas at the time of boarding it was informed to me that I could carry 30 Kg. Due to this miscommunication I had to leave my important belongings at home in Karachi, which is costing me a lot in the UK as I have to buy things here.
2- Which is also a major reason for complaining is , during my 21 hours stay I was neither given room/food nor on arrival VISA due to which I had to face this inhuman behavior and stay at the seat of Abu Dhabi airport for more than a day.
in-spite of asking the transfer desk at Abu Dhabi airport , no one helped me in this regard which was a surprising and unexpected response for me from an airline of international repute like Etihad.
It is requested of you to look into this matter and compensate me for this non professional treatment
non functioning business seats not fit for purpose
I booked business class seats with Etihad costing almost £6000.00 to Thailand. I booked these as i had work commitments on my return and needed to sleep. The seat that I had was faulty and the electrics failed. This meant that the seat was stuck upright with the seat rest also stuck upright. The most awkward position which made it impossible for me to have any sleep and has given me bad neck and bad back. To make things worse then the inflight entertainment of my seat and tv stopped working as well. They also kept trying to fix the seat leaving me standing in the aisle for most of the flight.
I have complained to Etihad and they said that i was offered a wifi voucher for £9.99 and then they have offered me 10000 points the equivalent of a £100 flight.
I said this was unacceptable and they have said that I should be happy with this and refused to refund the segment of my flight that was so badly affected. I would have been more comfortable in a functioning economy seat at a fraction of the cost. I always thought Etihad were meant to have a premium business service. But the way i have been treated and the experience was horrific. I would advise against flying with them in business class.
I even asked for a further email to complain and escalate this to and guest relations consultant Tapiwa refused and said they deal with this and there is no way of me escalating this. Coming on here and then seeing how low their trust pilot score is was not a surprise. I wish i had checked this prior to paying £6000.00 for mine and my partners flights.

Business class seat and Rude Ground staff at Abu Dhabi
I paid for a premium business class seat and the seat was not fit for purpose. The recline mechanism was broken and not clearly maintained or checked appropriately. The staff interrupted the entire flight trying to fix it and it was an awful experience. Hard reset,soft reset pulling apart the seat everything was tried. On the 6hrs I had to share my 5 year old's seat for 4-5 hrs before it was finally rectified. The trip was a catalogue of errors that has put my entire family off using your airline again. We were also refused entry to the lounge despite it being promised during an online chat during the flight connection went up from 3.5 hrs to 7hrs due to a flight change/cancel from the airline itself. Beware of the booking's and they do not clearly show the Business/Economy and also take snapshot's of any chat communication you have that promise anything as Etihad ground staff can be extremely rude and need proof for everything.To treat a customer that has spent a significant sum on a booking that contains a business class product is absolutely disgraceful

First let me start with "very rude staff" at Manchester Airport, they did not accept my COVID Pass screenshot instead helping me they start showing me websites link which cost me 2 tickets, and also they made sure I have to buy another ticket they put me as no show. staff is very rude and unprofessional not helpful at all, I would not recommend to anyone to fly with this Airline.
