Poor service

Poor service. Sent them photos of the mileage for “validation” and they kept rejecting them because a service is needed. Cancelled and will go elsewhere.

If there was an option to give 0 stars…

If there was an option to give 0 stars or negative infinity stars, I would 100% choose that.

I lost my mobile within the first two weeks of buying the insurance. That’s when the real nightmare started. They asked for 20+ documents police complaint, multiple verifications, repeated confirmations, and still they say documents are pending. It’s been more than 2 months and my claim is STILL “under review.” No approval, no proper response, nothing. At this point, I don’t even know if it will ever be approved.

Now here’s the shady part I purchased the policy from Dynamo, and NOWHERE in their policy did they clearly mention that when you raise a claim, your data will be shared with CityClaim. Suddenly another company jumps in. And CityClaim is even worse. They call almost every single day, keep asking for documents, and when you upload the 5 documents they initially ask for, they magically unlock 10–15 more document requirements. It never ends. It feels like they are intentionally delaying and exhausting customers so they give up.

Why do people buy insurance? For uncertainty. For protection. For peace of mind when something bad happens. But when the actual situation comes, that’s when the real game starts. Suddenly it’s “you need to pay this,” “you need to submit that,” “this is not enough,” “case under review.”

Honestly, it feels like all insurance companies just take your money happily, but when it’s time to support you, they disappear behind policies, clauses, and endless document requests.

My honest suggestion: stay away from this company and look for better alternatives. Don’t learn the hard way like I did.

Avoid this service

Avoid this service! They have zero customer service. I emailed well in advance to cancel my renewal, but they ignored me and charged my card anyway. To make matters worse, their system stated there would be a £30 admin fee, but they actually charged me £48 with no explanation. There is no way to phone them, and they do not reply to emails. This feels like a total scam—stay away!

MAJOR SCAM make sure you block your bank card - they will take more money

UPDATE 29 March : This just keeps getting worse! I read reviews on here and had luckily blocked my bank card. Then Dynamo tried to take £8,99 for "late validation". At this point, I had NO policy number, let alone documents, so nothing to validate! I cancelled by email THREE times and online (as soon as I got a policy number) and I was finally offered a refund two weeks ago, but received nothing. When I asked where the money was, I was told they were charging a "dispute resolution fee" of £45, plus a pro-rata reduction because of late cancellation outside the 14-day cooling off period, so I was owed nothing! As I had cancelled at least three times BEFORE the policy number existed, and it had never been validated, there was no justification in any of this. I have escalaated the matter to the bank.

MAJOR SCAM : I purchased European breakdown cover online (14 Feb), but never received any documents/policy number, despite the money being debited from my bank account. I cannot go through the website as it says it can't find an account with my email address and I have no policy number to use as an alternative. NO phone number unless I breakdown (dealt with by a different company) as the number they provide tells you to go onto the website! Sent THREE emails to admin and one to sales (no longer in use and redirected to sales!) and all have been ignored (got a read receipt for one of them) Having read the reviews, I have told my bank to put a stop on any further payments (eg autorenewal) and raised a dispute with my bank.

Service was both great and quick

Service was both great and quick. Other than my policy number I didn’t need to go through realms and realms of security questions and a recovery truck was sent out almost immediately and took no longer than 30 minutes to get to me. During that time I received two calls from dynamo checking I was safe (flat tyre on the motorway) and giving me an update on when the truck would arrive. I was also able to track the truck live via a link sent to me.
The recovery guy was lovely and really helpful. Google nearby kwik fits to take me and the car to so that I could get my car back on the road quicker. Overall fantastic. Genuinely couldn’t have been a better service. I was very happy. Which is important as a single person on the side of the motorway it was quite scary!!

Friday afternoon late battery - great service

Submitted my request for recovery via text, acknowledged swiftly, and even though I was told it would be up to 90 mins till someone could arrive a breakdown van was there inside 40. Very helpful man with a lovely demeanour. Though my battery was so dead we couldn’t even pop the bonnet catch, he had it open and fully started inside 15 mins. I rate highly

The service was excellent

The service was excellent, from the initial call to the recovery of the vehicle to a garage of my choice. Particularly liked the online link received via text which gave live updates and tracking of the recovery vehicle.

Stay away, Bandits.

Stay away! Do yourself a favour use another company.
Took out breakdown cover last year, £28.85. Dynamo cover have just taken £60 from my bank for two policies I never had with them so I cancelled the same day and they want another £15 to cancel. Kept the original £60.
And guess what, did not even try to renew the breakdown cover. Bandits ! Avoid at all cost, you have been warned!!!!

I didnt realise when taking policy out there is no way to contact customer services, the phone number just tells you to go online. I had a general question. I dont want to communicate with a robot, therefore will make a big impact when it comes to renewal
