My amazing dyslexic support Alyson Bryson
2 years ago I started university to do my nursingand I was so worried that I would fail due to my Dyslexia. Towards the end of my first year during a pandemic the dyslexic foundation appointment Alyson Bryson as my dysability support.
The support i have received from Alyson has been exeptional, she is so supportive with both with academic work and emotionally when I have struggled.
I could not have gotten through the last last year being taught on line with out the invaluable help from Alyson.
I feel so privileged to have Alyson as my support as will any other students lucky enough to have her in the future.
I hope the dyslexic foundation realise what an invaluable team member they have.

I started university at the age of 36 and in need of some academic support, the university gave me dyslexia support and a tutor to support my academic work. Alyson has been absolutely amazing and I truly couldn’t of done it without her. She so helpful, supportive and friendly. I’m made up Iv had Alyson’s support and it shows in my grades. I can not thank Alyson enough.

Learn to Love to Learn
As a mature student with all the commitments that busy lives present us ( A beautiful young family, full time job and a business to run) I knew getting my learning strategy in place would be key to my academic success. First step was to learn how to learn with out the baggage that traditional education ( undiagnosed dyslexic through school) had weighed me down for so long. The support from the dyslexic foundation and in particular Liz my fabulous tutor has been the best learning experience I’ve ever had !! Liz not only understood my academic requirements but also demonstrated such compassion and understanding with the emotional implications of my previous bad experiences. Results are out next week and I’m on for a 1st class degree📜🥳👨🏻🎓 . Now on to the post grad !!! Here’s a acknowledgment I put in my dissertation in recognition of Liz’s outstanding support
“Thank you for the guidance and support from Liz who has unlocked the
shackles that previous structured education had resigned me to. Enabling my
neurodiverse understanding to fall in love with learning.”

Excellent
For the last 3 years of university i’ve received such amazing help from my tutor - Alyson at dyslexia foundation. My tutor has helped me so much in developing my revision skills, as well as helping me to develop both good spelling and grammar for my assignments. I would definitely recommend both dyslexia foundation and my tutor to other dyslexics who require help when it comes to studying.
