Wonderful experience with Earl of East

Wonderful experience with Earl of East. Great quality products and responsive & kind customer service. I had an issue with candle glass cracking that could have been due to wick placement but also could have happened if the vessel was knocked (no way to 100% know). They asked for photos, gave helpful advice and sent me a new candle very quickly.

Great customer service

Huge thanks to Earl of East for helping with my order. I decided to order something for my wife but then realised I had missed something else from the order (completely my fault) anyway, messaged them and they were super helpful at adding the extra thing to the order. Thanks Tilly! My wife is very happy.

I nipped into the Shoreditch store of Earl of East to browse and ended up buying a greeting card. I used contactless pay. I later noticed I'd received an email receipt and had automatically been signed up to a daily newsletter. I never gave them my email address or contact details so they must have collected this via contactless pay alone. I did not consent to this. I was not even asked if I wanted to receive an email receipt or newsletter sign up. I did not know that they would automatically do that and find this to be a bizarrely invasive approach. Totally off-putting. Customers should be able to buy products in-store without having to share their contact details/data, and stores should DEFINITELY need consent to harvest data automatically.

Worse website ever!!! Do not bother ordering from them!!! They are a scam . They never email you back and you are better off just contacting you bank and claiming back your money

Shockingly poor customer service

Ordered an item online on 8th December with 3-5 day delivery expectation. Have heard nothing by 23rd December despite multiple emails to their support email address - the only method of contacting the company.

I will come back here more than once!

I really want to leave my review about this store.
I saw that many people are dissatisfied, but I, on the contrary, want to say that
this is a great place and a paradise for those who, like me and my wife, love perfume!
We have bought goods there more than once... the service is excellent, the advice is also excellent, the selection is excellent! I recommend it to everyone and we ourselves will visit this place more than once!
A solid four, but not a five! We came once and it was closed for no reason - there was a bad feeling! But that was one time and it never happened again!

Would give zero stars if possible

Would give zero stars if possible, candle did not arrive even though courier says it did. Emailed and messaged them on Instagram and got no response. This shop is a scam.

edit; they asked for proof of purchase and I provided it and then they did absolutely nothing so still absolutely a scam

was told to F- off.

After browsing Earl of East for a gift to buy, I did not expect to witness the two shop assistants on Regent St. to mime "F– off" (with hand gesture) as my friends walked out of the shop. We did nothing to provoke such a reaction, will not be going back.

Positive experience

High quality products and very speedy delivery (ordered on Sunday, received on Wednesday). I ordered Onsen bath salts and Jardin de la Lune candle and they both smell absolutely amazing. I was a bit anxious though when I saw the negative reviews here, but came to write a positive one as I was, well, positively surprised.

False information given by the seller

bought the bottle 'Utopia' from them. The seller claimed for it to be a collaboration with Nalgene. This is exactly the same model as sold by Nalgene. The only difference is the 'Utopia' being written on this bottle. If you buy it directly from Nalgene at Wildbounds, it will cost you £15. So, you would save £10. Furthermore, the seller claimed that this bottle will be ok with the hot water which is not. I tested it.

No scent from candle

I bought a Shinrin Yoku candle from a retail outlet and was very disappointed to discover there was no scent at all once lit. Quite bizarre. Have asked several people to smell it and all in agreement

Terrible service

Would give zero stars if the option was available.
Purchased a bag online from their website in February. The bag ripped within less than a month. Contacted the customer service team, who were liaising with the bag brand for a long time to provide a replacement. It went on for so long that I requested a refund, so they asked me to send the faulty bag and they would process it... Now it is probably a month since I've sent the faulty bag and still nothing, only customer service responding to my chasers saying 'we will keep you updated'.
Genuinely do not waste your money and time.

Excellent in every way

I visited the Coal Drops Yard store only last week and cannot praise the staff enough. They were very friendly, extremely knowledge and happy to help.
The products are fabulous. Unsure why some reviews are so poor.
I would highly recommend visiting.

I can't rate Earl of East more highly

I can't rate Earl of East more highly. I have long used their beautiful candles and incense and love their kings cross store which has the most incredible products as well as well curated picks of other brands. I've had some really nice interactions with the staff in there too. I recently had an issue with a candle I'd ordered and their online customer service team couldn't have been more helpful, kind and speedy. Really pleased and looking forward to my next purchase here. Thank you!

Order never delivered. No reply to multiple emails.

I ordered some candles for a birthday. A week later they have not arrived, the tracking link provided says that DPD have not received the parcel and Earl of East has not responded to any of the three emails I have sent. This is the only way you can contact them if something goes wrong as they do not provide a phone number.

Extremely rude customer service in the…

Extremely rude customer service in the King’s Cross branch. One of the shop assistants escorted my friend out yelling about how rude she was because she quietly said to me and our other friend an overpriced (£80) tiny ceramic cup was well, overpriced. Would not go back. Very unnecessary and snobby.
