My experience was great with Early Music Shop but I was surprised to have to pay 17€ for the customs !
The Brexit made it Esther more expansive !

A very well made gut A string for my baroque cello. Easy to fit and settled in tune quite quickly. All at a reasonable price.

Fast shipping, well packaged (box got beat up but the recorder was in perfect shape), and the recorder sounds fantastic. I really appreciate the recordings so I can hear the differences between the various models and woods. What I heard when I got it was exactly what I expected.

The EMS responded quickly and were helpful and polite in explaining the approval service.

The book quality is excellent, however the packaging needs to be improved. The hardcover book was shipped loose in a cardboard envelope mailer with no padding. This resulted in the book corners being dented and a page getting crinkled when the invoice was wedged into the book, which ruined a lovely Rembrandt illustration on that page :(

I recommend using a padded mailing envelope for shipping hard cover books. The book should be wrapped or sealed to prevent moisture during mailing and placed between two pieces of cardboard to protect the cover. The printed invoice can be taped to the cardboard so it doesn't slide around and cause the crinkled page.

Great service and products.

Excellent service. Very quick delivery. Peter was able to give advice on choice of instrument and in my case the recorder specialist was on the shop and sfo tapped onto his expertise

Beautiful sound. The bottom octave has a more subtle sound, but that's what you need for late-medieval music, rather than a big booming bass. Great instrument for me, especially as a beginner harper. As a bonus, delivery was very prompt.

I got in contact with The Early Music Shop and was put through to the Snape Maltings branch. The member of staff (I think her name was Esther) was fantastic! She went above and beyond to check the recorder I was looking at on their website was in stock and available to ship. Kept me informed and found it to be at their Saltaire branch. Really wanted to leave this review for her, as her customer service was exemplary. Thank you and can't wait to receive my new Aura Conservatorium Tenor recorder.

I contacted The Early Music Shop because I wanted to buy a full-sized harp. I phoned the shop and the gentleman I spoke to was so helpful. He offered to have the harps tuned up ready for my visit. When I arrived I was greeted warmly and he set me up in a private room so that I could play the Salvi Mia harp I was most interested in. He also brought in a couple of other harps for me to test out. I was over the moon with the Salvi Mia and I was delighted that I was able to take the harp home with me. He even carried the harp out to my car and secured it in the back seat with the seat belts. The service I received from first phone call to purchase was excellent. I love how passionate and knowledgeable these guys are about music and a wide range of musical instruments. It really is worth a visit to support this amazing shop.

Each beautifully-wrapped shipment has been an absolute delight, as I endeavor to both restore and expand my music library, my recorder collection, and my love of recorder-playing.

I like your on line-shop a lot. I often return to it as a really nice pastime. So far, I’ve made two purchases, but there will probably be more. Inspiring presentation of what you offer. And the videos are great! Good that you use DHL for the deliveries, you can always trust them. Though the purchases get a bit more expensive since I live in Sweden, it’s definitely worth it.
