Asia was my loan consultant and from 0 - 10, I’d rate her an 11. She was superb every step of her process. I was frustrated with the false advertising which was sent to me in the mail. Brochure indicated I was prequalified for lowest rate indicated (which would have been 4.71% at a 10 year term). The brochure indicated offer was valid until June 15th.I ended up with a rate of 5.19%.still not sure how my annual income and $3.6 mill in assets would not get me the lowest rate for 10 year term.
I can live with the rate I have. The response sounded like a bunch of gobly gook. Common sense (if there is any, anymore) would suggest my $98k in retirement income probably exceeds most working people’s wages. Also this isn’t my first student loan arrangement. My son graduated with his doctorate degree in 2015 with a $250k debt. We now have that down to $53k in just 10 years!!! I’ve been paying $800 a month on his loans with AES and now the payment with earnest drops it to $557! Where is the risk???
I’ve lowered my payment but somehow I’m a higher risk!!
I’m not upset, I just think it’s crazy
