On behalf of our family, we would like to thank East Durham Funeral Service for the care, dignity and empathy shown in organising and delivering our dad’s funeral. When you are going through such a sad and painful time, you want to have the confidence that all the arrangements will be taken care of professionally, respectfully and with compassion and kindness, and EDFS did exactly that. They took away all the stress and worry, keeping us informed at every stage of the process – nothing was too much trouble. The day of the funeral went very smoothly - it was a lovely and dignified tribute for our dad, Les. The staff at EDFS were courteous, discreet and professional throughout the day – many, many thanks.

We were able to see dad when we wanted to and we were looked after appropriately as was dad.

I can’t say enough good things about East Durham Funeral Service. All of our family were so pleased with everything they did for us, and we know my Mam would have been over the moon with the funeral she was given. There wasn’t one glitch or any thing we weren’t happy with and they made a very sad time far less stressful then we could have imagined. They were able to accommodate all of our requests without any concerns & were so competent and very professional

From the initial contact, to Tom coming to my home to take details with myself and my Family, to the day of the Funeral itself…absolutely superb.

From the beginning till the end every member of staff were amazing, they met each of my wishes, my mam was looked after and treated with care and respect. I wanted to bring my mam home the night before the funeral and they arranged this, day of the funeral we went past Tommy at seaham one of her favourite places, nothing was a bother, they advised me and told me if the thought there was something I didn’t need gave genuine advice. Ellen was amazing and replied to me day or night. Loosing my mam was one of the worst experiences I have gone through but they were there each step of the way can’t recommend enough.

East Durham Funeral Service have handled the arrangements for both of my parents' funerals, most recently my father's in January. Everything has gone smoothly on both occasions and I would have no hesitation in recommending them.
