Deeply unprofessional and discriminatory experience
I had a deeply disappointing and frankly unacceptable experience with this clinic.
During a recent call with one of their staff (Vangelis), I was spoken to in a way that was dismissive, disrespectful, and completely lacking in neurodiversity awareness. I had specifically asked for a clinician who is autistic themselves, but he kept lecturing me about how the others were “also fine,” ignoring my request entirely.
This is a private clinic, I’m paying to choose who I want to see, not to be told who I should accept.
He also referred to my autistic child as “a case” to be discussed with the clinical directors. When I asked him not to objectify my child, he became defensive and abrupt. I calmly explained that I’m autistic and ADHD myself, and that my communication style is direct and assertive, but he labelled me “aggressive” anyway, a known tactic often used to silence or discredit autistic parents. That’s discrimination, not “miscommunication.”
I raised a formal complaint outlining these concerns and requested a review, including confirmation of what autism and equality training their staff have actually completed. The Clinical Director’s response was a generic PR statement, no accountability, no details, no evidence of any genuine reflection or investigation.
For a clinic claiming to specialise in eating disorders and to support autistic children and families, this lack of understanding and compassion is unacceptable. The way they communicate shows little respect for lived experience or for their duties under the Equality Act.
If you’re an autistic person, or a parent of an autistic child, be extremely cautious about engaging with this clinic. They hide behind “online-only” services and polished language but show no real inclusion, transparency, or accountability when things go wrong. And conveniently, they don’t even have a Google review page.
I do not recommend this clinic at all. There are plenty of other private services out there that actually understand autism and treat families with respect.
