Banned instantly for absolutely nothing.
I created a brand-new account just to buy a toy, but eBay's system immediately blocked me permanently. My local phone number didn't receive the SMS verification code due to a technical glitch on their website. When I tried to fix it and use my shipping forwarder's number, the automated system flagged me as suspicious and suspended my account instantly.
I tried contacting support and explained the whole situation. I was fully ready to provide proof of my identity, but they didn't even ask for it or give me a chance. All I got in return were automated, copy-pasted rejections from bots that didn't even bother to read my message. They claim they "carefully reviewed" everything within a couple of hours, which is physically impossible for a human representative.
They treat honest international buyers like criminals just because of their own technical bugs. Terrible, broken system and zero human support. Completely disappointed.
Great website for finding exactly what…
Great website for finding exactly what you’re looking for. What really stands out is the customer service—they step in when sellers fall short and provide helpful support when it matters most.
eBay holding seller funds hostage
Been selling on eBay, sold another item. Now eBay is holding my money hostage until I provide them my SS#. It would have been nice that they provide a warning banner for this change BEFORE I listed this item. May be a tactic to get more $ from sellers. I am 109% sure eBay can’t protect this information with their history of being hacked regularly and their own hacked help pages.
Ok service
Ok service, but sometimes the product doesn’t fit thé description.
Customs fees are high from US to EU
Shipping sometimes over charged by sellers
Just a heads-up for anyone with an eBay…
Just a heads-up for anyone with an eBay Store subscription.
On July 1, eBay charged me my normal $4.95 monthly subscription fee. Then, on July 8, they charged me another $4.95 for the same subscription. After seeing the duplicate charge, I canceled the subscription so it wouldn't renew again.
That's when I was told I now owe $11.55 for "canceling early"—even though I had already paid for the month through July 31.
In my opinion, that's absolutely ridiculous. How is anyone supposed to know they're expected to wait until the exact last day of the billing cycle to cancel? If you've already paid for the month, canceling should simply stop the next renewal—not result in additional charges. To me, that feels like a total scam, and people should pay close attention to their billing if they have an eBay Store subscription.
can't selling or listing :(
Solar Lantern Frog and Ebay
Until this purchase, I had an overall very positive experience with eBay. Unfortunately, this transaction completely changed my opinion.
I ordered a solar garden light in the shape of a frog reading a book with a lantern from the store **OhtaMStore**, sold by **datia-50**.
When the package arrived, I was unable to fully remove the item from its packaging because I was about to leave on a business trip. I opened the box, checked that everything appeared to be intact, and because all of my previous experiences with eBay had been positive, I left the seller a 3-star review. Even though the item did not appear to be of great quality, I thought it was acceptable enough to keep.
When I returned from my trip and finally assembled and installed the light, I discovered that the solar lantern did not work at all. It simply would not charge or turn on.
I contacted the seller to explain the problem. Instead of taking any responsibility or attempting to resolve the issue, the seller repeatedly responded that the item had been shipped "as described" and in "perfect condition." I explained multiple times that the issue was not cosmetic or shipping damage—the solar light itself was defective and did not function. The seller ignored the actual problem and continued repeating the same response without offering a replacement, refund, or meaningful assistance.
I have purchased many items on eBay over the years, and I have never left a review before actually testing a product. I regret leaving even a 3-star review because it gave the impression that the item was acceptable when, in reality, it was completely nonfunctional.
I also reported the issue to eBay, expecting that they would help resolve the dispute. Unfortunately, I never received a meaningful response. I attempted to contact customer service by phone but was unable to reach a live representative. It was extremely frustrating to find that there was no effective way to speak with someone who could review the situation.
Another disappointing aspect of this experience was that I was unable to immediately update my feedback to accurately reflect the defective product and the seller's lack of accountability. This prevents other buyers from being warned about experiences like mine in a timely manner.
My biggest disappointment is not only receiving a defective product but also the complete lack of customer support from both the seller and eBay. A marketplace should stand behind its buyers when a product is defective and a seller refuses to address the issue. Instead, I was left with a non-working item, no practical resolution, and no meaningful customer service.
I hope sharing my experience helps other buyers make informed decisions before purchasing from this seller.
BUYER BEWARE
I was offended a special purchase price on an item. I accepted the offer, the seller took the money out of my bank account then resinded the offer. I tried numerous times to contact EBAY AND THEY WOULD NOT RETURN MY CORRESPONDENCE. I will never purchase another product on EBAY again, they are not reliable, extremely difficult to reach customer service and do not protect their buyers. BUYER BEWARE!

Terrible website for sellers, you WILL be scammed, it's a given. do NOT sell here, EVER. ebay does not help you.
Ebay screws Top Seller
I have been doing business on Ebay for 10+ years but yesterday they told me that I wasn't going to be allowed on their site anymore. They said it had to do with a situation in 2018 but refused to say what it was.
Not long ago, I was unable to log on my account because a required code was being sent to a phone number that was disconnected. I asked Ebay representative to change that number, but they never did. So, I setup a new account only to have Ebay suspend me.
The representative was very rude on the phone. Guess doing over $20,000 and feedback at positive 100% doesn't matter to them.
GARBAGE platform to sell on
GARBAGE platform to sell on! They restrict how much value of items you can sell so you will never grow as a business. Also, the one day you send a parcel 1 day late, your products will DROP in the search ranks and you will go to ZERO orders! WORST company! Also NO SUPPORT hours after evening, which means if you're in another country and need help, there is NO WAY to leave a message or email. WORST SUPPORT EVER!
A great site to rip people off
A great site to rip people off.
EBay offers a very limited period of just 30 days to dispute a transaction.
So if you can get customers to pass that period by even one day then it’s free money in your pocket. And eBay will protect you to do this.
AliExpress is a far safer option and offers cheaper prices for buyers. They have better customer support and offer extended protection times.
Thinking about eBay?
As a seller hell yeah. Free money.
As a buyer, don’t waste your time as it’s a gamble.
Ebay lost my pakkage, and won't help
Ebay send my pakkage, 250 dollar and the lost it. They say it's not their fault. DHL E-commerce is to blame, Ebay says. DHL says then Ebay need to start a case with DHL. Ebay does nothing and do not respond. What a terrible company Ebay is.

They are scammers who want to force me to keep an item that I returned the day after receiving it due to the fact of not meeting expectations, don't think about buying anything here!
If I could give them a 0 I would
If I could give them a 0 I would. Since covid eBay is useless they have 0 support for a buyer. You cannot talk to a live agent and when it says contact it leads you down generic fixes then you can't get resolution and get stuck with a product that is broken
