I have used ebay for many years as a lot of you have i am sure. As a behavioral architect, i must say, their site backend is horrid. The front end is polished because that's all they care about, get... See more

Ripped off buying.
So, I’ve used AliExpress for some time now.
Went back to EBay to try it out again.
Big mistake. They have a lousy 30 day policy so that if you don’t even receive your product and that date passes you lose your money.
Ripped off.
AliExpress is far safer.
Refused a legitimate refund until I filed a chargeback
Bought Ray-Ban sunglasses in May 2026. The seller failed to transmit the IOSS number digitally, causing Danish customs to charge VAT I had already paid at eBay checkout. The package was returned to the seller. PostNord confirmed this in writing. The seller approved my return on 29 May.
eBay then denied my refund three times — including a "final decision" from a manager — citing "refused delivery." This was not a refused delivery. It was a refusal to pay a duplicate VAT charge caused by the seller's own shipping error.
Only after I filed a chargeback with my bank did eBay reverse their decision within hours and issue the refund. The speed of that reversal tells you everything about how seriously they took my case beforehand.
eBay collected my VAT at checkout, their seller failed to pass it to customs, and they spent six weeks trying to make that my problem.

Dont sell on Ebay they say they protect Sellers but that is a fabrication.
Even though i listed everythign correctly, and listed everything, they still made me accept a return for a damaged and used item.

Sold LV purse & wallet to bad buyer
I sold an LV purse & wallet to someone with bad reviews, I have perfect seller & buyer reviews & been with Ebay since they started. The buyer either swapped out the purse I mailed to her or she let it melt in her car. I sold it a is, no returns, and sold it in fair condition because I didn't want anyone having higher expectations than what the item was. The purse had some call outs which I listed and pictured. Ebay gave her money back. I will never buy or sell with them again. I got ripped off because the buyer with bad reviews (done this before) damaged my item, gets her $ back, and I'm stuck with a very expensive item that I cannot sell due to her negligence. Oh and Ebay took half my selling money as "fees" but they listed the same fees twice. So I lost money on this deal before I got really screwed from the buyer. Or the authenticator swapped out my purse before sending to the buyer, someone ripped me off and I'm really upset about it.

So often the ebay support staff lie just to wrap up the call! I can call on the same issue three times and get three different answers. Also the absolute talking over the top of me is maddening! Trying to explain something and all i hear is blah blah blah and then they wonder why they don't understand. they dont' listen. Cant problem solve in a second language. I rate them the second worst behind ETSY which is the all time worst ever

I bought the bissal towel and scrub…
I bought the bissal towel and scrub cloth , When I got it there was no scrub cloth , only a towel that looked like someone threw it in a plain plastic bag and threw a label on it . Now mistakes happen I know , but I've been trying to contact them and they don't answer at 1st , then they answer and tell you it has been delivered , when you tell them you received it but not the cloth they ignore you . SO DON'T BUY ON EBAY FROM PRIMEPA60, YOU'LL JUST WASTE YOUR MONEY AND IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM NO ONE WILL GET BACK TO YOU
Scam scam scam
Scam scam scam. I've paid the buyer protection for around £5 so the total was around 150. I receuved the item which doesn't fit. But ebay won't protect me eventhough I've paid the 'protection fee' what is ebay 30's Italian gangsters??? Pay the protection fee, receive nothing
Safe Place for Transactions On Lots of Cool Items
It is high time I posted a positive review to do justice for Ebay. I've had nothing but good customer service here and have bought many cool items through this marketplace. I even recently sold a few items. Most transactions happen smoothly without any issues. When I occasionally have disputes with Ebay sellers, everything always gets resolved in a manner that is satisfactory to me. I've never once had to appeal to a third party outside of Ebay. I've never had to ask for intervention from my bank, credit card company, or any payment processing services such as PayPal. In fact, I stopped using PayPal on Ebay, because Ebay's buyer protection works well enough. When some issue comes up, Ebay workers always resolve everything for me, with very little inconvenience.
I look forward to continuing to do business with Ebay. I love buying all sorts of cool things from Ebay, clothes, books, jewelry, tools, and lots of other things. Thanks, Ebay, for always being so great to do business with!
Purchased item on ebay, worst shopping experience
Purchased item on ebay. One of the items wasn't shipped in almost a week. Asked seller several times to cancel a transaction if they can't ship the item. The seller ignored all the messages. Items still wasn't shipped. Left the seller negative feedback. Ebay removed my comment. Contacted ebay customer service after spending few days how to have a call. Ebay makes it impossible to contact them. They promised after 3 days cancel transaction. After 3 days wait, transaction wasn't canceled and Ebay changed it to another status so i have to wait another days until maybe it will be delivered, even though the seller did not ship it nor provided tracking number, nor responded to any of my messages. Stay away from Ebay! I will close my account there for good.

Banned for Life by a Glitching Robot: How eBay is Killing Its Own Community
Think twice before clearing out your closet, because eBay’s automated system might just flag your old sneakers as a threat to global security.
I was recently handed a permanent, lifetime ban—meaning I can no longer buy or sell on the platform—for the ultimate crime of trying to sell a few normal, everyday household items. Apparently, in eBay's new dystopian reality, clearing out your garage makes you a danger to society.
The "Dangerous" Contraband in Question
Here is the exact list of high-stakes, malicious items that got me exiled from the platform forever:
A used screwdriver set (Truly, the toolkit of a criminal mastermind).
A Bluetooth speaker (A weapon of mass auditory destruction, clearly).
A pair of used shoes (Because nothing threatens a community quite like second-hand footwear).
Trapped in the AI Matrix
When I tried to figure out how these mundane items violated policy, I wasn’t put in touch with a human being. Instead, I was forced to argue with an AI chatbot that had the logical reasoning skills of a brick wall.
The interaction was pure comedy—if it weren't so frustrating. The bot actually admitted to me that a screwdriver, some shoes, and a speaker aren't dangerous or suspicious. But instead of correcting the error, the AI immediately pivoted, flip-flopping to a new accusation: "Well, they could be stolen."
No proof, no police report, no buyer complaints—just a rogue algorithm playing judge, jury, and executioner, deciding I’m a thief because I listed a pair of shoes. I even explicitly pointed out that the items weren't stolen, but you can't reason with lines of code.
No Humans Allowed
The most insulting part of this entire ordeal? eBay completely blocked me from speaking to a real human being.
There is no avenue for appeal, no customer service manager to look at the blatant absurdity of the situation, and no way to clear my name. I was completely misjudged by a glitchy automated system, and eBay’s brilliant solution is to lock the door and throw away the key.
The Verdict
eBay started as a digital flea market for people to trade used goods. Now, it’s a corporate fortress run by broken AI that views its own user base with total suspicion. If you value your account, be careful. You’re only one garage clean-out away from being banned for life by a robot that doesn't know the difference between a Phillips-head screwdriver and a security threat.
Buyer and seller beware.
Holding my money for too long
Holding my money for too long. buyer has the item, still wants to hold my money? ebay is GARBAGE
I placed an order#15-14708-03602 on the…
I placed an order#15-14708-03602 on the 2nd of June ( geek’s glow up collagen powder) , I started to suffer health issues after using it few times.
The item I received has been confirmed by the manufacturer to be counterfeit. I purchased the product as a genuine item as described in the listing. However, after using it, I experienced allergic reactions and other concerning health-related symptoms. These issues prompted me to contact the manufacturer directly to verify the product’s authenticity.
After reviewing the information and evidence I provided, the manufacturer confirmed that the item is not genuine and is a counterfeit version of their product. I can provide the manufacturer’s written confirmation, along with photographs of the item, packaging, and purchase details.
I requested a full refund and asked eBay to investigate the seller and take appropriate action.
But the surprise is EBay customer service ignored my report on the seller and my feedback also in-spite of the health issues, the inconvenience, distress, and time spent resolving this issue.
I don’t know what exactly I have had inside this fake powder.
However, the problem will be escalated to the Trading standards and the action Fraud bodies .
I have sent over hundreds of items
I have sent over hundreds of items, but in the last say February to March 2026 I had surgery so I was taking the stuff up there and dropping it off and I got the receipt but I did not submit the tracking number which is anybody knows it’s still gonna go to where it’s gonna go. You can’t get in touch with anybody at eBay they don’t even have any of those on there anymore like they’ve disappeared. I still have all my receipts all my tracking numbers Facebook marketplace does it right? You don’t have to do anything you just take it up there and drop it off and get your money. Facebook is a a God above eBay eBay is the worst company managed company manage I don’t even think they have Management in the world. It is a racket I sent a $5000 ring of my wife’s said they had to go to the Authenticator so I watched it watched watched watch stayed there never moved then it gets rejected and I’m like what why what’s going on OK I get a letter in the mail I have to sign for it. It was the same tracking number as the ring but it wasn’t the ring. It was some Arm warmers. I am just I’ve had enough and I wish if there’s any other people out there that feel this way that we can go after them for the stuff that they’ve done to us cause I know I’m clocking over two or $3000 just in one thing not to mention you know four 500 here. 10200 there it adds up I’m so my son‘s PlayStation to our PlayStation 4 with extra controllers and I forgot to put the games into the box . Was in a rush but went back and boxed the games up and shipped them lol, they charged me for extra not a problem but eBay charges me extra for the buyer not receiving any of the items and I’m hit with a ton more extra charges +500 now -431!

eBay permanently restricted me without a reason. They refuse to talk to me about my site. Beware of this site.
Pay attention to your payouts
I started selling items on here thinking it was a good idea but each item I sell I'm starting to notice a pattern of where you're charging the customer for shipping labels then charging me for shipping labels and this is after the customer already paid for the shipping label they take more money from the item that they're supposed to I stole her an item for $40 by a time they were done with it I think I got 19 they took more than half of the money and there's no explanation why except for charging me for shipping label that was already paid for for every item so far that I've sold so that means they're doubling up on the shipping money I guess the first charge goes to the vendor their buying it from and then they just charge you again and keep it for themselves. You can never get a hold of anybody to talk to if you use the app to try to figure out the break down of your money it just runs you around the big circle You can never get any straight answers it's a joke so I have like 20 things on there that I still have for sale that I'm soon as I'm done with this I'm erasing and just going to start selling on Facebook marketplace I have not one problem with that it works out great and they don't rip you off like he made us and they don't pay you like they're supposed to after the items delivered it's supposed to be in your account within 2 days and it hasn't been in my account in 2 days yet and I know that that's business days not including weekends it's ridiculous and like you said you can't get a hold of anybody to talk to about it they just be after just runs in circles
Account banned upon making first listing
Account banned upon making my very first listing despite having a positive and long-standing reputation as a buyer. There is no way of contacting support to have this undone as their support is 100% AI now. Ebay is a completely useless and dreadful company which is unfit for purpose.
I've Thought Long And Hard
I've thought long and hard about whether or not to say anything more about Ebay since I've done so many reviews. Ebay has wallstreet investors otherwise known as institutional investors Vanguard Group, BlackRock inc. State Street Corp. I don't know if CEO Jamie Iannone is still actively CEO. Founder Pierre Omidgu has effectively stepped down from his involvement in day to day operations instead focusing on "supposed charities". While Ebay used to be a site that was relatively transparent and trustworthy that has changed. The focus is now on its institutional investors not on the buyer's. Even if you do a review and it goes against their policy it can be removed even for speaking the truth. Investors don't care about what everyday people and consumers have to put up with the lack of transparency constantly getting scammed and ripped off.
