Worst experience ever

Worst experience ever. The claim adjuster has not responded to emails or calls for over a week. Still haven’t been provided with a rental car, even though I submitted my claim two weeks ago. I also sent complaint emails a week ago and received no response. Please save your money and choose a better, more trustworthy company.

Absolutely garbage do not go with them.

They took four and a half months to pay me out for my claim. They also forgot to pay for my rental car and had me blacklisted because of it. The rental car got towed because my adjuster genuinely forgot to pay. every time I called and emailed No one answered. The turnover rate is horrendous because they do not care.

Echelon was terrible. Avoid at all costs.

I am in my 40's and hadn't had a license for most of my life. I went through a broker and ended up with Echelon for nearly $3000 per year.
I paid the entire year up front. The following year they tried to take the money out automatically and couldn't, so they sent me a letter. I went to their website and paid it online. I think it was around $2800 even though I've never had so much as a parking ticket. I then got a letter informing me I still owed $100 because they charged a fee for the failed payment.
I reluctantly paid this fee in two $50 installments, the final one being paid on a Friday morning at 5:29 AM. The deadline was the following Tuesday.
A couple of weeks later I received all my money back in the mail because they cancelled my insurance. I was shocked.
At this point my car was not working and we were in the height of covid and I was seriously ill, so I didn't bother dealing with it, however, I recently got a new car and went to get insurance. I was told from the same broker my insurance would be at least $2500 because of that non payment form Echelon.
I told him I didn't even know what they were talking about because I knew I paid it on time. I then sent him screenshots of the payment receipts that I took on my phone showing that I paid it, and paid on time.
The screenshots literally say that my payment would be applied to my account "within 48 hours". It does not say "48 business hours" or "excluding weekends". I made the payments on the Echelon website with a credit card. What more could they possibly want?

My broker thought it was strange and tried to get Echelon to do the right thing and erase the non-payment from my history but they declined saying that I didn't pay early enough for the money to be applied to my account.
I paid directly on their website with a credit card 4 full days before the deadline.
If they didn't get it on time then why did all my money get sent back with the cancellation notice? They're liars and they're lazy!
The $50 wasn't even for my insurance. I already paid them for a year. This was just their NSF fee. How could anyone ever trust a company that's that lazy and irresponsible?
In the end I ditched Echelon AND the broker and went straight to an insurance company and found out I was basically being robbed. I was able to get insurance (even with the non payment) for $1200 per year with no problem. Without the non payment it would have been $950.
Brokers get terrible rates for supposed "High risk drivers". You just have to go directly to an insurance company.
Echelon just takes advantage of people who think they have no options and it's so poorly run they can't even do that properly.

I noticed other issues like the paperwork I have says they do not accept American Express but their website says they do.

Stay away from Echelon. Their incompetence is now costing me hundreds of dollars.
This company should be investigated.

I tried to get in touch with them to…

I tried to get in touch with them to reschedule my payments so they coinsided with my pay but I was not able to get proper service and I was cut off for having a couple late payments. Now they want me to pay for the whole year. Insurance should be called extortion. They don't actually do anything, if you get into an accident, they decide if your vehicle is repaired or not. If they write it off they take it ( theft ) then they decide how much you get for it. We pay for the service and they don't provide what we need. Why do we need insurance.

Billing Issues with Echelon

I have car insurance with Echelon after I was booted from my previous insurer for missing payments. While I appreciate the "risk" Echelon took to insure me, and have no complaints about the initial rate offered I will say that thier organizational structure leaves something to be desired. Specifically when my policy came up for renewal I paid what the Invoice stated. Got my pink cards in the mail. All was good. Then a few weeks later a second invoice came claiming my policy was almost 300$ more than the original price I had paid. I phoned them and the agent couldn't explain or resolve my problem with the discrepancy in policy amounts. Someone will call you back they assured me. More than a week later I have not heard from anyone at Echelon. I suspect I will recieve a second invoice for the imaginary debt before I will hear from a person.
