Reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Customers consistently praise the products for their effectiveness in cleaning clothes, even with tough stains and for sensitive skin. Many appreciate the environmental benefits and the long-term cost savings. People frequently mention the pleasant, gentle scents and the overall quality of the items, with some having used them for years. However, some customers also noted that the products might not clean as effectively at lower temperatures or for very light staining, and a few mentioned a lack of fragrance. There were also isolated instances of product damage after initial use, and some felt the fragrance was not entirely natural as advertised.

I have been using these for sometime…

Very disappointing 👎I really had high hopes about using these and I have been using these for sometime now, but then I noticed, despite leaving my washing machine door and tray open for a day, sometimes even longer, when I open the door a week or less later, I got a terrible smell from inside my machine, something I never had before, but then I also started to notice the glass door had a white powdery/Sandy coating on it, which I had to use a scouring sponge pad to remove it from the glass, if the door is like that, what are parts of the machine you can’t see like 🤷🏻‍♂️, logically it must also be in the fibres of your clothing too. I found the scented eco egg had no smell at all, so after a year or so, it is with regret I have to say, pointing my right index finger at eco eggs and say Your Fired 🤪 the concept is good, but the practicality of it, is unfortunately flawed.

Really like the EcoEgg

Really like the EcoEgg.
We’ve been using it for a few months now and we won’t be going back to traditional detergents and softeners.
My husband was very sceptical but he’s a believer now.
I like that the washing doesn’t have an artificial fragrance and of course I like that it works out at less than half the cost of the products we were using before the egg.
Our clothes are clean and soft, it really is a great product

Eco-Egg washer and dryer egg work great

I have used the Eco-Egg washer and dryer egg for a few years now. I have terrible allergies and can't use fragrance detergents and these are perfect. They get our cloths clean no matter extra large load of small. And they do get our cloths clean except bad set in stains then i use a stain remover and that helps get everything clean but that isn't very oftern. They dryer eggs work well too. i don't need dryer sheets, saves money both ways. Sure my cloths don't smell like spring flowers but i don't need them to smell to know they are clean.

I have been using the eggs in and off…

I have been using the eggs in and off now for 9 years. I originally bought them because my two youngest children were in reusable nappies and I didn't want to use chemicals/detergents that would upset their sensitive skin. I found the best way to use them is intermittently. So 2 or 3 washes with the eggs and then one wash with a non bio liquid. I also use soda crystals with whites, always have even with the eggs. I found this kept everything nice and white longterm. I still intermittently use the eggs and save a small fortune on washing products as a result.

Quite disappointed with the eco egg

Quite disappointed with the eco egg. I bought one with a scent but the clothes just smell like they’ve been soaked in water. There’s no scent at all. Not convinced it’s even cleaning the clothes. My daughter and I have very sensitive skin so was hoping this would work for us. Also have the dryer eggs but they haven’t reduced drying time at all. Just bang about and make my clothes smell like rubber.

Really great laundry product

Really great laundry product. I was almost put off from trying the EcoEgg by the bad reviews, but I'm so glad I wasn't. My clothes smell fresh and feel clean without being coated in chemicals. The egg doesn't tackle stains, but I make sure to spray any stains with an Oxi Action stain remover spray and they come right out (I had to do this when using my previous landry liquid and fabric softener anyway). I'm not sure if the egg really will last 70 washes, but so far so good.

Really disappointed, personally I would stick with what you currently use

Really disappointed with the item. I decided to give it a go as I was sick of having to buy multiple items (3) for washing.

The egg in principe is a great idea however, your clothes don’t smell of anything not even a hint of the scent, just water. To me that’s not a clean smell. Clothes don’t even feel soft. The bedding it’s been absolutely redundant and I’m going to have to re wash it and it wasn't even stained or anything. Same with a dressing gown, it looks less white, and isn’t even soft to touch. That will also need re washing. Really wanted this product to work but unfortunately it doesn’t. I think I’ll keep using it along with fabric conditioner and laundry cleanser for now until it runs out then go back to what I used to use.

Eco egg if you are reading this definitely look at improving both these things people want to be more green but items that don’t work make it harder to do so

Use your common sense

I have been using the egg for a few years now and found it to be excellent. I do not overwhelm the machine with too many clothes and always put some soda crystals in to help the water quality. When I wash the dogs beds I use an ecover product NOT the egg. You cannot expect miracles which is what it seems some people expect, better to use ones common sense but there is not a lot of that about nowadays.

SUPER HAPPY and SAVED £££

We've been using our eco egg since Easter (l gave it to my husband instead of a chocolate egg). Unsurprisingly the scent only lasted a few washes (as it's only on the surface of the balls) but the balls themselves have lasted far longer than expected. We have saved an absolute fortune compared to Ecover liquid we were using before.

I do, however, (as I did when using Ecover liquid) pre-treat with either vanish, or soak in bio concentrate, for difficult or particularly malodorous stains. For very greasy marks I rub a bit of washing up liquid on before washing in the machine.

Nothing smells bad or musty, but I clean machine fairly regularly and periodically do a hot wash with white sheets. We don't have a tumble drier and line dry clothes as much as possible.

Perhaps it helps that I have never much liked the perfumes in most laundry detergents. Also, I bought egg and refills on promos at Waitrose.

Underwhelmed is an understatement!

Tried the Eco Egg for months and tried to convince myself it was doing a great job and I was helping save the planet.
Gave up when the family started saying their clothes didn’t smell fresh and looked grubby. Whites got less white on every wash.
You may as well just wash with water, for all the good it does. I now have a plastic egg to dispose of plus an expensive packet of refills I bought and haven’t used. I’ve gone back to Fairy non bio and comfort! Life’s too short to faff around with gimmicky items that don’t live up to the hype.

After first few washes, clothes look and smell unwashed.

I thought I would try the Eco Egg as trying to do my bit and save some money at same time. Unfortunately, it just does not do it’s job. Initially it seemed promising, clothes seemed clean with a clean smell rather than perfumed as expected but very quickly it not only does not perform but leaves the laundry smelling unclean. Not happy at all and will go back to an ‘eco friendly’ detergent.

Not fit for purpose

Not fit for purpose. Instructions followed for closing, click heard but each time the egg came apart so the pellets were everywhere in the machine and clothing and all over the floor. I’m worried about damage to the machine. Horrid consumer experience and contacting Which about it.

I have been using the egg for over a year now and it delivers. My clothes are clean and the egg refills last for as long as stated. The egg definitely saves money and still washes perfectly. I would definitely recommend using it and moving away from powders and liquids

Good in theory - Useless in practise

Initially I thought this was a great idea however I frequently have to rewash clothes as they still come out the machine smelling of BO! Not very echo friendly when you're using double the electricity, double the water and original washing powder and fabric softener as well 😢

No smell and don't remove stains

Not as brilliant compare to eco friendly washing detergent, I thought it be great instead of using washing detergent and help the environment but when I tried it and the machine finished with the program, took one item out smelled it but there was no fragrance from the egg on the tops and also it didn't even get rid of stains. So I had to use surf detergent to take over the egg and I had to dispose the egg in the bin because it was useless and I also advise eco friendly people to use eco friendly powders or liquid detergent.

I tried to be eco!

Such a great idea in principle but the performance is terrible. Washing does not smell pleasant and the performance is appalling, often requiring re wash with previously used product. I would not recommend this until the performance is improved.

Disappointing

Unfortunately, I am of the same opinion as many other reviewers. The egg is a great idea for saving the planet, and saving money, however, it just doesn't perform.
I could get used to the lack of fragrance , but it just doesn't clean very well, and I have found myself using an oxy product to enhance the effectiveness, which seems to negate the eco friendliness .
