Unfortunately this company seems to be a victim of it's own success in that it can pick and choose the work that it takes on. I wasted a few weeks with a written quote and attempting to get a visit arranged. I took a day off work and twice Lyndsay failed to show with little to no communication. She claimed this was down to parking, but a professional person would have looked into this beforehand. Parking is difficult near me but by no means impossible and two minutes on google beforehand would have avoided this. After failing to turn up for the second appointment Lyndsay sent me an email wishing me well with finding an alternative provider. I emailed back and asked if we could try again and she couldn't even be bothered to reply. This was for circa £15k of work, but they obviously don't need the work. I have had a better service from an alternative provider since, a little more expensive - but worth it as they actually turned up for the site visit!

I was very pleased with the quality of the workmanship and the windows and the promptness of completion of the job.
Eco Sash & Case delivered an outcome for our old (1876) sash windows that was both affordable and transformative in its results. We opted for a refurbishment, which was guided by the survey provided as part of the free quote from ES&C. This was informative, detailed and gave us the confidence to move forward with our choice. We had previous concerns that our windows were beyond repair, and to have the reassurance was great.
The experience of having the work done? I can only express good things regarding the staff involved; with both the actual refurb and the painters that followed. They were courteous, excellent in their updates and general communication, and professional. Any unseen issues were dealt with - nothing was too much trouble.
I am now left with fully functioning, stunning looking sash and case windows. Returned back to their Victorian best.
I will be using ES&C again when it is time to touch up the frames.
Thoroughly recommended.
Very pleased with new windows. Took longer than expected but outwith control of the company. All workmen were helpful, curtious and carried out the work efficiently, always tidying up at the end of each day.
I am delighted with the work that Eco Sash & Case has done on my windows. The finish is to a very high standard and all three employees who did the work were punctual, courteous, cheerful, neat and entirely professional. I plan to use the company again and strongly recommend it to others.
I had complete confidence in Eco Sash and Case from my first contact with them. They were honest about when they could start the work, started the work when they said they would, completed when they said they would and did an excellent job. At all times the communication between us was professional, friendly and helpful. The work was completed by highly skilled and professional trades people who handled the complications of replacing very old windows with great care .
Excellent workmanship, courteous on site, would highly recommend, we are very happy with both the window refurbishments and replacement windows.
First class preparation and installation. Quick and efficient.
WE got there in the end, the finished result is great, but it took too many visits along the way I am afraid.
They were not the cheapest quote we received but we went with Eco Sash & Case as we were impressed with their enthusiasm and professionalism. From start to finish we found them responsive and easy to deal with and searching for solutions.
We were having all our windows refurbished, double glazed and painted which we knew could be a disruptive and elongated process. The Eco Sash & Case team did their best to project manage the process so we were clear stage by stage what was happening and the team adhered to the agreed timetable. We found the individual tradesman on site to be friendly, polite and very willing to find creative solutions. The co-ordination between the refurbishment and the painting was superb and the final result impressive.
Understandably due to the age of the windows there was some additional work but we felt their costs for this were very reasonable. We were meticulous in identifying snags (mainly minor) which Eco Sash & Case dealt with quickly and without any rancour.
Overall we are extremely happy with the job done and would not hesitate to recommend to others.
Great new wooden sash and case windows. There were a few unforseen delays but all handled well. Our fully functioning shutters were slightly damaged but these were fixed with a few other snagging jobs. Very happy with the decorators too. All the workers were polite.
Very old sash window repaired, restored and painted. Looks great, works great and above all lovely tradespeople!
I would like to thank Eco Sash and Case for the work provided. After various attempts to contact other window companies ( with no response ), I found Eco Sash and Case to be very prompt and a pleasure to communicate with.

Recently I had my windows double glazed. We chose ‘upgraded with existing sash’ package. Communication from start to finish was excellent. The guys workers were very friendly and informative. The standard of work is excellent. The windows have made a huge difference to the temperature of the room. Overall very happy experience.

Thank you to the guys at eco sash and case. The change in my windows are incredible. I was initially told by all other companies that they needed replaced. Eco sash and case salvaged my windows and they’re looking absolutely great. Wealth of knowledge and the work was completed to a very high standard. Delighted.

The Eco team have been excellent and my 150years old windows have been given a new lease of life. The joiners, under Steven's guidance (thanks for the talk about the history of timber used in UK), did a fantastic job of replacing the rotten bits and making sure the sashes were straight and in proper working order. John, who took over to paint the windows is a real pro (and a pleasue to chat to, too). And when Covid complicated the arrangements, everything was handled in an exemplary manner by Lindsay in the company's office. Thank you!

As a result of an attempted burglary, we decided to upgrade a single glazed sash & case window to double glazed. I phoned several companies - Eco Sash & Case were a pleasure to deal with, responded quickly and gave me a fair estimate. The work was carried out to a high standard, in a timely manner by professional and Covid19 aware staff. The new window looks great, has cut down on draughts and from estimate to completion, just over 6 weeks. An excellent job - thank you.

We had two new timber sash and case windows installed. I compared quotes with 5 other companies and was drawn to Eco because their price was comparable to the others but had eco credentials.
Understandably, Covid has had an impact on timescales. There was a delay of a week to start the project and overall it took a lot longer than expected (a few weeks total), as the work had to be done in stages to let things dry and set alongside fixing an install problem and fitting into their busy work schedule.
Somewhat disappointed with the timber finish, given the windows were brand new. From what I can tell, this was caused during install/fabrication, with some edges and detailing looking dented or slightly cut. It's not hugely noticeable from a far but a shame given they are new, not refurbished.
We were left with a window which didn't allow for the shutters to close because the casing was too large. We had this remedied but it extended the timescale, but ultimately it could have been avoided during install.
The paintwork was accidentally done in the wrong finish but the company have agreed to remedy this in the future.
The painter (John) was absolutely brilliant - a really wonderful man who was incredibly polite, respectful and considerate (given Covid). He did a great job hand-painting given his workload with other jobs. It is obvious he cares about his job and is a very hard worker. He was always on time and is a great asset to the company.
In hindsight, I should have asked whether the job would involve spray painting or hand painting as the finish is nearly impossible to get spot on by hand at the edges. Our previous windows were sprayed and have a much tighter finish between the woodwork and the glazing.

I had my sash and case windows repaired, painted and draught proofed. I am extremely happy with the finish and the difference the draft proofing has made. I would highly recommend Eco Sash and Case as they were really good value for money, very friendly team and I experienced no issues.

15th June work started
Prior to this, I noticed on their web site they said they would price match any Edinburgh window company
The Manager gave me the story that the other company was not a professional company and they were experts. Their job would be like new and they would give 140%. So he refused to price match.
I should have listened to my gut but I didn't so the work began (supposedly to take 6 days.)
2 days later he said the new windows were almost ready (18th June ) then the excuses started to come
The windows would be ready that week, then the next week, then the week after, then leave us your keys and we will finish the job. They did not turn up. When I complained the manager said they had a contract with the Council and this was taking priority
He said they had lots of customers complaining as their job was not finished (Hardly reassuring)
Then began the phase where they made appointments and just did not turn up or even bother to say they would not
After several no shows he promised the work would be finished (This was now July 5 weeks after they started).
I checked the windows and some would not open at all, one would open a bit then stick, there was so-called draught-proofing hanging off the windows in one room, paint outside was on one window very poor and had not been prepared
I kept emailing him with the issues and he kept saying send me a list of the snags ( I did several times) Some of the excuses he made were laughable he said for example "The windows are old" No kidding that was why I was getting them refurbished. Then "1 in 100 windows are like yours" As they would not open. "You must have wonky casings" and so on
The upstairs bedroom windows (double glazed) were in poor condition. He then tried to get more money out of me for a Simplex system (which was already there before they started work)
I also know that the fittings for this cost about £5 so £75 plus vat (His quote per window) is a rip off I said I was not paying as I was already paying them around £11,000.
He started to get angry and accused me of adding problems onto my issues (This was because they refurbished (supposedly) 13 windows) and every time I checked I found more problems. The batons he wanted money for had been damaged by them when they took out the windows and in any case, I would expect these minor issues to be included in the £11k, and according to their web site they are.
They had damaged my wooden floor in the bedroom during works (I totally understand these things happen when doing major work like this but thought why should I suffer damage when he was trying to extort more money)
He kept saying the work was finished and I kept saying why had he not come and checked the work. He did give me times that he would but initially never even turned up.
He did say that they would do a job for me (I wanted the back of my front door covered in plywood) to compensate me for the damaged floor but later tried to use this as an excuse to not finish the job properly
Into late July he got more aggressive and started saying they had done work for free and would not do any more
At this stage draught-proofing was hanging in mid-air, you could see daylight through the bedroom window frames and there were dreadful draughts and noise in the bedroom where the double glazed units had been fitted, the cord for the windows was also hanging loose in mid-air.
I quote directly from their web site where they state what is included in refurbishments;
New sash ropes & pulley wheels
Energy-efficient draught proofing
Brighton sash locks
Sash window ironmongery
Yet he tried to claim sash ropes etc were not included
He also said the draught-proofing was only put on the side of windows, not the bottom (So not really draught-proofing) I pointed out on their web site they said windows would be fully draught proofed and would be tested before and after work to ensure this was effective. They did later claim they tested the windows but I saw no evidence of this at all (Despite the fact that on their web site they claim they test with a thermal image camera). I never saw any thermal images!!
After many weeks and many complaints, they did eventually finish the windows so they were operational but they left them filthy and covered in putty, etc. To be fair the downstairs windows are finished to a reasonable standard (after many complaints though) and I guess they just had bigger fish to fry (In terms of Council work). Maybe they were rushing to do this work. Most of the workers seemed hard-working but it felt like they were pressurised to move on to other jobs. I am very disappointed in this work and have photos that show the standard they were left in after they claimed the windows were fully finished. This took around 8 weeks but most of this was because they just did not show up when I was promised they would (Again I have kept all emails detailling excuses.
