Dave Crenshaw

Dave Crenshaw, the owner, frequently lies and it was almost a year before I was able to get refunded for a saber that never shipped.

Warning! warning! warning!

Warning, warning! I've been trying to alert people for years about this scam company and Dave, the liar.

I was conned out of over $600 to buy a worthless piece of metal. Check the Google reviews and pay attention to the few reviews here. Please don't fall for this scam.

In Reddit and other forums, Dave is usually an admin and they actively ban and remove people saying bad things about Electrum. If you've purchased with a credit card, contact your credit card company. If not, persevere like I did and get your refund back!

Look at Xeno3 sabres; they are amazing and work perfectly with mobile apps. They are also a fraction of the price.

I ordered a lightsaber on the fourth of February. Unfortunately, it has not arrived until today. On queries in May I received an answer after four days. Since then, nothing has changed in the order status. I asked several times for a refund of the money. Unfortunately, I received no answer.

Dave got in contact with me after my review on google. He apologized for the long wait and wrote me that it could take a few more weeks. This statement was already made back in May. I asked him to transfer my money back to me. He replied. Now, he said, it will only need a few days (instead of weeks) before I get my lightsaber. Dave is very contradictory in his statements. I asked him friendly again to transfer my money back. Unfortunately, no reply again. I did not get my money back. I can only warn everybody. Do not buy there !

Contrary to the e -mail of october twentieth and november second (roundmail), nothing has changed in the order status. I have not received a lightsaber. The money has not been transferred back to me either. I have been waiting almost 10 months. The owner (Dave) is a fraud and a liar. He should be ashamed of himself for stealing people's money!

No delivery after 15 months

I have ordered a saber in Dec. '22. I received an order status update in Mar. '23 with "Hilt Assembled, Awaiting Electronics". In May '23 I asked about the status and after several tries to get an answer I was promised that it will be processed asap and with high priority. In July '23 the order status was updated with:
"We are happy to say that your order is with our electronic install team for final electronic installation. Most of your electronic components (Switch, battery, leds, etc.) are prepared for install. You are also slated to receive a free upgrade to our newest revelation: The StarBird Saber Core! You are among the first to receive this latest technology, before it is available to any new orders."
Two months later in Sep. '23 I asked again for the status, but did not get any answer, neither per Chat nor per Messaging system. In December '23 the status of my order was set to "Electronic Installation", but no further indication if and when it might be ready.
It is over 15 (!) months now.
The only thing I receive reliably are the advertisement mails, but I'm still waiting for my saber and I have lost confidence that it will ever arrive. Based on that experience, I can not recommend Electrum Sabercrafts.

Beating around and bush and avoiding paying customer questions….

I try not to complain or harp on companies too often, especially with the world we’re living in today. However, my whole experience with this company has been atrocious to the point where I feel it’s only fair to other possible future users that this company is not worth it. I ordered a saber for just under $500 on July 3rd 2022. At the time of ordering, the lead time was 8-10 weeks. At the 10 week mark after no update, I contacted support. I was then told at that time that the lead time would be 9-16 weeks. At 13 weeks, I had an update that my saber had moved from the initial stage to “Hilt assembled, awaiting electronics”. On their site, it says this stage could take “days to weeks”, mind you at this point we’re already 3 weeks over the initial expected delivery time. At 17 weeks with no update, I contacted support again. This time I was told that my saber would not be there for the date I needed it by for an event (I had ordered FAR in advanced for the event as stated above…it was only supposed to take up to 10 weeks). After a few back and forth messages I could not get a straight answer on a new estimate, and kept being told they didn’t have any of the electronic chips. There has been no communication with me other than the times I had to fish for answers. I now canceled my order but am still out $100 (I think?) which is their procedure for cancellations to cover materials….even though apparently they don’t even have enough “materials” to finish anyone’s current sabers. Although my last message from them states they refunded the “full amount” ( again unsure if that includes the materials cost) and also that they were deactivating my account. The account deactivation was not what I expected since that makes me truly never want to try and do business with them again. Maybe they were tired of being called out and questioned as I’m sure others have been doing to them too….

It’s unfortunate. I had high hopes. I was so excited. But now I’ll take the hit and go spend money somewhere else that I can hopefully trust more than this terrible company.

Adding to this review on 12/9/2022…

I’ve tried multiple times to get info for my refund. They sent me a pdf and told me to talk to my Bank. I went through many different people in my bank, including managers, and no one could find any record of this refund that they said the bank was holding. I finally had the bank refund me through a dispute only after I attempted to email Electrum multiple times with no response over the course of a few weeks just recently. Awful customer service and personnel. Should be ashamed.

Purchased two of their saber (Evo-Flex…

Purchased two of their saber (Evo-Flex and Aurora) and love them.

EDIT : Unfortunately, I have to change my rating. Their phone app for the saber is terrible, and my saber is always lagging. Flash on clash barely works and the sound is lagging pretty often. I will update this review again once they fix their software.
