Issue Resolved, But Communication System Needs Improvement

Final update on my experience – Issue resolved

Before this update, my review was based entirely on a communication problem.

This situation was clearly the result of a system-level communication failure on both sides. Tickets were closed or marked as pending while I was actively replying, including to automated emails. At the same time, it’s possible some of my messages did not properly reach their system. It remains unclear where the breakdown occurred.

This lack of visibility caused nearly three weeks of unnecessary frustration. Once the issue was properly identified, and after my public review here on Trustpilot highlighted the situation, the matter was resolved quickly.

The reason for 4 stars: one point still feels unfair. I was charged $152.94 USD in usage-based fees for only three weeks of use, despite emailing before the automatic renewal to request switching to the monthly plan. For fairness, I will assume that message may not have been received either. At the time, I was on an $89 USD per month annual plan, so I do not clearly understand why I was charged an additional $60+ instead of simply being billed one monthly cycle for the three weeks of use. I contacted support before renewal specifically to avoid extra charges and complications. Whether the message was not received or not processed, the result was an unexpected and significant cost. As a Canadian customer, currency conversion makes that difference even more impactful.

That said, they were honest enough to refund the balance that was withdrawn from my credit card. The refund was ultimately processed after three weeks of repeated communication attempts. I was informed it could take 5 to 10 days, but it arrived within two days, which I appreciate.

Final clarification: I replied yesterday to two separate emails from Daryll as a test and sent another reply again today. Could ElevenLabs please confirm whether those messages were successfully received? This is important for future customer communication reliability.

I simply want to ensure communication is now fully functioning moving forward.

Appreciate the additional context. There appears to be a discrepancy between what you’re seeing and what we’re seeing on our side.

Unfortunately, I don’t see any initial requests from January 20. The earliest request I can see from the email address you contacted us from is dated January 22. I can also see some earlier tickets from last year, but nothing from January 20 in the ticket history I’m looking at, which is quite odd in itself.

At the moment, the tickets show as waiting for your reply, and we do not have your confirmation to proceed. Meaning that based on what I’m seeing, the refund was not issued because we were waiting for your confirmation before proceeding. Daryll followed up to confirm whether you wanted him to move forward with the refund plan he prepared, and from our side it looks like we did not receive a response after that.

I’m escalating this back to the human agent who handled your case, as there clearly may be a delivery or visibility issue in either direction (you not receiving all of our replies, and us not receiving all of yours), which is a major concern.

To address your specific questions based on what I can see:

• There are tickets currently waiting for replies from you.
• The ticket number you provided is closed and has been closed for a while, because we never received a response from you in that ticket.
• The refund has not been issued because we’re still waiting for confirmation from you, but I will review this and get it sorted as soon as possible.

I agree this has been pending far beyond what is reasonable, and we will look at our processes. From what I can tell, the team has followed the correct steps, and the issue appears to be with our systems and message delivery which has extended this simple request far beyond what is normal.

I would absolutely 100% recommend…

I would absolutely 100% recommend ElevenLabs to anyone looking for any type of voice audio or any type of content audio generation. This company went above and beyond for me when they didn’t have to, and I had multiple accounts. Not only did they close my other account, but they transferred credits for me to my new account as well. Absolutely love the service and their customer service but 100% recommend.

Good for voiceover, natural, many voices available

I needed a voiceover, elevenlabs.io did the trick for me. What I especially like is that they give you a chance to try the product and actually experience how it works before you pay. Huge number of voices available, sound very natural (at least for social media use).

Having a new voice thanks to one man, Fabio

From the word go, Fabio understood my need for a new voice as an ACC user in Communicator 5, which isn't a cloud-based program, creating issues for me to use an ElevenLab voice.

Fabio kept coming back with possible suggestions. Not willing to give up, Fabio went away and came back with a solution! I was extremely grateful that he took the time and didn't dismiss me, given that my situation was complex and unique.

Thanks to Fabio, I have a new voice in 22 years! More surprisingly, it is so realistic, you can hear her take a breath after a sentence (which I have never had before, and I have been using ACC devices since I was 7/8, I'm now in my late 40's). But more importantly, I now have a voice that pronounces words properly, and my family and friends (and Alexa) can understand.

Thank you Fabio! You're a very sweet, patience and kind-hearted man.

BAD ACCENTS

The quality of the accents is very, VERY poor. If you want an expressionless ai generating accents that all sound like Americans doing bad impressions of other accents then this is for you. Awful. And the website is poorly designed.

Excellent voice quality and reliable API

We're using ElevenLabs for content creation and it's been outstanding.
The /with-timestamps API endpoint is a game-changer. Getting character-level timestamps alongside the audio lets us create perfectly synced word-by-word captions. No other TTS service offered this when we evaluated options.
Voice quality: We rotate between 4 voices (Asher, Brian, Hope, Annie) to add variety. All sound natural and engaging - viewers don't realize it's AI-generated. The eleven_turbo_v2_5 model is fast without sacrificing quality.
The API is well-documented and straightforward to integrate. What stands out: excellent quality-to-price ratio, reliable performance, and consistent API responses.
Highly recommend for anyone doing regular content creation or needing quality text-to-speech. Very happy with the service.
