Pen smears
Hi Ethan,
I had a fountain pen over 25 years ago and I lost it. I never had any problems with it. I have been using the Ellington pen for the last few months and it tends to bleed. What am I doing wrong?
How should this pen be stored? I keep getting the ink on my hands.

Happy mistake when ordering
I ordered a Stealth pen with an additional nib. I thought I had checked the order, but apparently not and I had two medium nibs with ink holders. I was frustrated and thought of asking Ellington Pens to exchange the second nib. Then I changed my mind. I enjoy changing inks mid project and now I was able to swap them over whenever the fancy took me. I went on to order the bent nib I originally wanted and I happily play with all three.

The outside of the pen was great but…
The outside of the pen was great but the ink that originally came in the pen does not work. At first it wrote weak lines but eventually it just stopped coming out altogether.

My fountain pen arrived yesterday and I am loving it! The pen is high quality, well priced, and shipping was fast. As an author, I generally write on my computer but the pen wrote so beautifully, I wrote with it for a couple of hours, completing a short story. I highly recommend these pens!

It’s not Hype it’s Fact!
From a well designed web site extolling the virtues of why one should consider Ellington Pens, the message has been conveyed and positioned to such an extent that I did wonder if the hype would be matched by the product.
Well I bought the dark wood version of their Fountain Pen and I have been very pleased with it, ITS NOT HYPE ITS FACT . These pens are designed well, built well, balanced and produce a quality writing experience. As a personal preference I would have liked a wider knib and so I emailed ‘Customer Service’. I received an almost immediate response and I now have a wider knib on its way to me.
However I must make mention of the unbelievable customer service delivered by Ellington Pens. In my case by the superb Krystal, a genuine desire to help and fastidious attention to the detail of my request made me feel that I was very important to her and her desire was to ensure I was looked after.
In today’s world so many fail to deliver a decent back up service and in my view this can seriously taint the purchase experience. Krystal has made sure the purchase and follow up customer service are indeed 5 🌟.
Any doubts you have about the quality of the pen or pencil can be quickly dispelled as they are excellent value for money. The 5 🌟 Customer service experience is the silver lining on an already wonderful product.

At last, a fountain pen for everyday use!
I have been searching for a long time for a fountain pen that I can use every day. And at last I’ve found it! I bought the Ellington fountain pen in Alpine rose with a fine nib and I’m filling it from an ink bottle rather than cartridges as I want to reduce my plastic waste. It’s a joy to use: the ink flows smoothly and evenly, the weight is perfectly balanced and the pen is a very comfortable size for writing a lot. As a writer, I make copious notes and I can write for hours with this pen with ease. I love everything about this pen.

Return to Using a Fountain Pen
It's been over 60 years since I've used a fountain pen. My first experience with one was in the early 1950s when I first had penmanship classes in elementary school using ink wells and wooden handled straight nibs. I wanted to return to using a fountain pen again for cursive writing vs printing that I did in professional life except for my signature. The pen and cartridges arrived in a timely manner. The cartridges were easy to install. I will try the conversion later. It has been smooth writing from the start. 2025 will be a year of experimentation. I look forward to a new chapter in writing having to relearn cursive. Time to have some fun.

The address error was quite problematic. I received the pen, ink, and folio on time 1*. The pen is nice and solid feeling 1*. However, finding the instructions for filling it from ink well using the vacuum piston and then filling was not easy. I filled the pen's reservoir about 2/3 full. I screwed the nib to the body and started using the pen. Later on it stared leaking ink, I was unable to staunch the "bleeding". I will not be buying anymore pens from Ellington Pens.

Each email I received from 'Ellington pens' was followed by another email from someone called "Ethan' @ellingtonpens.com stating that my purchase was for £112.00 rather than the £67.47 that my actual order came to..I'm not at all happy about this and feel as though there's a scammer at work here...My pens are lovely, but this experience has really taken the edge of what should have been a real pleasure..
