It was well appointed but the bathroom was very small. It drove very well and easy. The handover was not very thorough. It was someone who was just learning I think. The second drawer broke as the magnet was faulty when we got the van. Of course there was normal wear and tear on the van. The mattresses and bed was very comfortable. It was nice to pick up left over stuff from other campers.

Everything was great from pickup to drop off!
The only thing I wish was that I got more instructions on the awning and when not to use it.

It was a great trip. Don't get me wrong. It's was 2+ week in a Class B motor home (Sprinter Van) that had troubles and I think the company is stepping back from them. They worked with us on the issues and as a company things worked out OK. But I think that if they are going to do something it should be "all in", not a "kinda in" which was this experience. Would use them again. It was a fun trip!

First time driving rv. Staff was helpful showing us around the RV and answered any questions in SLC. Staff in LV were really nice and welcoming. They were able to quickly check us out. Leaving plenty of time to catch a flight.

Highly recommend El Monte RV! From the moment we started planning our trip, everything was smooth and straightforward. Their prices are hard to beat and the fleet offers plenty of great options to suit different needs.
The staff was warm, professional, and genuinely helpful. What really stood out was how fast their support team responded whenever we reached out — absolutely top-notch service.
The only downside was a generator that wasn’t functioning during our trip, which caused an inconvenience.
We’ll definitely be back and will keep recommending El Monte RV to friends and family.

We had a wonderfull time with the El Monte (Road Bear) RV. One way from Vegas to Denver in May. No negative comments on the RV and staff frienliness at all. It was all great!!

When I was checking in, one of the service members helping had a bit of attitude because I forgot to bring my physical card. She made it sound like I would lose my whole RV reservation since I didn’t have the card. Everything worked out in the end and she was able to use my friends physical card but the beginning attitude was uncalled for and it felt like she was treating us like children in the end. When we checked out the RV we had a different service member and she was stellar. Very accommodating and made sure we were taken care of.

It was our first time renting an RV and we were very nervous about all the logistics. El Monte made the whole process so easy and so smooth. Their booking packet gave us all the tips and tricks. The instructional video was extremely helpful on the road whenever we needed to verify anything. The RV was in pristine condition. The unlimited generator usage was amazing. Any time I had questions during booking, the helpline was timely and helpful. Would book again!!

I would like to say that the RV we rented from El Monte for 5 weeks was absolutely fine. No complaints!
Unfortunately, after 2 of the 5 weeks of vacation, we received the news that my mother was dying. From Bryce Canyon NP, we drove to the nearest international airport in Las Vegas. Although we picked up the RV in San Francisco and were supposed to return it there as well, we returned it to the El Monte branch in Las Vegas.
We had already paid for 3,000 miles in advance, but we had only driven 1,000 miles. We also returned the RV 3 weeks early. Naturally, this RV will be rented out again within these 3 weeks.
The staff in Las Vegas offered their condolences. Unfortunately, we were told that we had to pay $1,800 drop-off fees because we did not return the RV in San Francisco. We also received absolutely nothing back for the 2,000 miles already paid for and unused, nor for the 3 weeks that we returned the RV early.
They also told us: "You must have insurance; surely that covers it?" Unbelievable!
We were very disappointed in El Monte. We had expected a more humane response in such a sad situation. The $1,800 penalty drop-off fee, in particular, hurt a lot. We had expected more compassion. We didn't return the RV 3 weeks early for fun. This was an emergency.
Manager Florian Heris (or Henis) could do nothing for us. Head office had decided not to show any leniency.
We paid because we wanted to go home urgently.
My mother passed away a few hours later.
You could have handled this better and more humanely, El Monte!
We still hope for a refund of these ridiculous extra costs paid, and perhaps the unused miles and weeks.

May 30, 2026: NEW MESSAGE AFTER REPLY EL MONTE on May 23, 2026:
You bring up 'Financial Planning'!?
Why!?
My point is that you make no distinction between a voluntarily cut short vacation and one involuntarily cut short due to a tragic death. I feel that you show no empathy and offer no humane response. For you, it is all about making money!
Just issue an invoice for an extra $1800 right away and whatever you do, don't refund anything for unused miles or unused RV rental weeks.
That is very sad!

Driving an RV when you are on holiday is a pleasure. Renting an RV from Elmonte/Roadbear, makes the pleasure unpredictable, because on forehand you do not know what type of RV you will drive.
The terms and conditions of the rental agreement, states that they have the right, depending on availability, to give you an RV of their choice.
In fact, this means: We decide and you have to accept, Company first, customer second.
We always like to drive in an RV of limited length. Therefore we order always a C Small C 21-23 ft.
Instead of that they will give you an RV of 26 ft. It is presented as an "Upgrade". We do not want it. You can refuse it, but there will always be an availability reason on hand that will tell you, This is your RV type.
This year we ordered again the C Small C 21-23 ft. This time a 24 ft unit was presented to us. Instead of last year, we now made a one way trip from Las Vegas to Denver. We did not expect to bring a brand new RV to Denver, but the one we had was far away from new. It was presented as a 2026 model. However it had run already 23.000 miles. The miles are made in 2025. The Rv was very dirty at the outside. Recently not cleaned and recently not used. It was equiped with a slide out (not wanted) and an heavy steel construction at the back of the car to tow something or to carry bikes(not wanted)
Both items increase the fuel consumption and makes the RV not comfortable to drive.
We also had to deal with a leaking black water tank valve. Sewer will build up behind the sewer cap and comes out every time the cap is removed to empty the tank. Lack of maintenance. Not cleaning the black water tank. The manager in Denver was not happy with the returned RV. However he decided to give us a refund of 15% of the rental cots, for all the shortcomings we had.
To conclude: it is time to look for the Exit of El Monte /Road Bear.
The uncertanty regarding RV type is too high and the reliabillity is too low.

To go on a 2 month trip for the first time, the vehicle was o.k.
Next time I will take a 5th wheeler.
Your staff at El Monte in Las Vegas was always very nice!

Long wait to pickup. The front desk is helpful but slightly rude in his tone. Vehicle in good condition. but very basic. No seat height or car play. Walk through was thorough and patiently explained all question.
