El Monte RV - Los Angeles Reviews 

Rented a Class C RV to take g-kids on a short vacation. The rental experience with El Monte was great. From initial reservation to that final check in was seamless. The RV was clean and well maintained. My third time as an El Monte customer. Price was competitive, would consider renting again.

The trip was amazing but please make sure to check everything over and confirm it’s all in working condition. Arrived to pick up motor home and they wanted to give us a unit that had front tire tread wear to the point of a possible blowout, if we had not noticed it for ourselves. The girl helping us was very apologetic but the technician as just complaining “we have to take it to the tire shop and it’s going to take hours” as if that was going to make me change my mind and take it that way. The girl helping us got that all worked out in about 45 mins and continued to be apologetic. On the trip, we were using the bathroom faucet and it appeared to be glued together under the counter and was falling apart. But the biggest issue we had that changed the trip comfort level, was when we were attempting to empty the sewage and come to find out that the unit didn’t have a sewage hose, only (2) water hoses. The sewage box was there, but had an additional water hose inside the box for a total of 2? Upon calling customer service, they advised me to go buy one and they’ll reimburse me. Great! I want to drive around on my vacation and try to find a sewage hose when this should’ve been on the checklist when the technicians go through the unit to confirm it’s ready to rent out again, much like the two front bald tires. Please do better with quality control and repairs.

From start to finish El Monte RV was amazing. It cost a fortune,(worth it) and we got a flat tire 30 miles from home….. but the customer service was lovely. Got someone out on a holiday. Zero issues. Ram van was so comfortable, with plenty of space. We were in a rain storm and could not step out onto the muddy ground, 24 hours inside it, totally relaxing.

After being assured all was set to go, we drove 2.5 hours to our location only to discover later that evening that the oven, water heater, and TV wasn’t properly functioning. When we turned on the shower, the water smelled terrible too! We had to run the water for awhile before it seemed ok. With limited water, that seems unacceptable. We were given the runaround when we reached out and had to continue to try contact them (in an area where service was spotty). Luckily they had company representatives at the event we were at and eventually they brought over an RV to replace the one we had but we lost an entire day of our trip trying to get this squared away and all our belongings transferred. Even in the new RV, the oven and TV were not functional but at that point hot, clean water was really all that mattered. Still, for how much we’re charged we should expect all the things that are touted to be functioning properly. Lastly, on the drive back our phone connection to the GPS system kept going in and out whenever we hit bumps in the road (because of the system; it wasn’t a cord connection) which is a safety concern when driving such a large vehicle on the freeway!
In hindsight, we should have spent as much time as we needed to check all of these things ourselves before driving off the lot (and will definitely do that if we ever rent an RV again).

First time renting a rv . It was great. The only issue we had was we weren't sure if we ran out of water on the 2nd day being out in the desert. 40 gl tank shouldn't have run out on day2. It could have been a issue with the sensors.we didn't want to risk having Grey water back up into the rv so we didn't get to shower the rest of the time there. Other than that the fridge and propane and heater worked great. We used to own a toy hauler so we know how dry camping is and the other issue is the shower head should have a easy on and off button to save water and ours didn't so that stunk. If needed we would rent again.

This was my first time in an RV. I rented a Class C for a 4 day trip with my son and grandson. Thanks to the staff and all the resources provided, we really felt comfortable with the Class C both underway and at camp. All the systems worked perfectly for nights on and off the grid. Check in and check out were very easy. We had a great time!

Friendly fast service!

Absolutely awful place do not rent from here. Their RVs are not well maintained. The steering wheel was also not aligned correctly.
The awning on my rented RV dislodged during rain and wind. These assholes refused to take care of me.

Easy to drive, very friendly staff.
Clean - was exactly what we needed.

There are some things of the rv that doesn’t work, for example de usb chargers in front o the car, don’t have car play and the levelers doesn’t work.

Always great with El Monte RV. Easy communication, pick up & drop off.

Overall the RV did it's job for the week that we rented it but lots od hiccups. Made aj appt for a pickup at 1pm got there and got through no problems, front desk ladies super helpful and nice, got sent to the patio and got stuck waiting for 2.5hrs....waited 1hr went and checked in, was told it was on the way, came back 30 mins later was told 20 mins more, went back 30 mins later, was told it was on its way out. Finally came out, the back workers had 0 customer service, not friendly, didnt tell us half the issues that was documented on the inspection report, didnt show us the black tank gages, but we needed to go so we left. Driving away I open the report to see that the awning is broken, the black tank wasnt emptied and was as 1/3 full...got to our location and the lights are flickering, go to turn on the water and any time a sink got turned on the lights went out...not sure why those 2 were connected. Headlights kept flashing all week, had to run the generator constantly just to get the lights to work with the water...when it was time for return we let the service people know, they ran a report and turns out our rv had bad batteries. Got a partial refund, again front desk ladies were extremely helpful.
