We are really pleased we had solar panels installed in the spring. We have lots of hot water from our eddi energy diverter so have not had to use the gas boiler this summer. The team at Empower have all be really good and helpful.

Good communications, plenty of info up front. Delivered early so we're making even more savings. Rob and Jordan both went over and above. Thanks guys!

I can’t say I was as eager to have solar panels fitted to our house as my husband. He had done his research, discovered a local company, something we prefer, that had the necessary accreditation (MCS) required should you wish to ‘sell back’ unused energy to the grid. We dropped into their office as we were on our way to Christchurch and met Jonny. A home visit by Rob was arranged for the following week. As I said I wasn’t as on board as my husband however what did initially impress me was the amount of ‘homework’ Rob had done before coming out to see our property. He already was aware of two large fir trees, owned by a neighbour, and the impact they would have on screening any solar panels fitted to our roof. The second statement by Rob “5 panels will go on the front roof of the property above the front door” almost brought the meeting and installation of panels on our property to an abrupt end. I had not anticipated any panels sitting on the front of the house - it was the last place I wanted them to be fitted. As Rob very professionally pointed out we would be losing all the morning sun generation if panels weren’t installed on the front of the property and really it wasn’t worth us going ahead without them. I appreciated Rob’s honesty and his efforts to ‘shape’ the panels to mirror the front roof apex. We were encouraged by Rob to get another quote, which we did, it was more expensive. With some reservations about the front facing panels still remaining, on my behalf, we decided to go ahead. The amount of documentation we received from Empower before hand was impressive we were certainly kept in the loop. The installation process was flawless. We were shocked when everything was installed and ready to go in under four hours (we live in a bungalow.) Are we pleased we had the panels fitted - definitely. Would we recommend Empower - definitely. Have the panels changed how we use electricity - definitely. It was one of the electricians installing the panels who asked us when we used our washing machine, dishwasher, tumble drier etc. Very quickly he rearranged our routines! Our previous routine no longer suited our solar panels! Now we use our dishwasher, washing machine, charge our phones, etc during the day when our panels are generating. We have become very attuned to checking if our panels are generating. We are selling back any unused energy to the grid via our energy supplier, we have decided, at the moment, not to have a battery installed. At present we haven't reduced our monthly standing order in line with the suggestions from our energy supplier. We are accruing a credit balance, as you would expect in the summer months. Most of this credit will help towards the higher winter bills but last month we did use some of it to contribute towards a 4 night cruise! This was an unexpected perk. And the panels on the front of our house - I am eating my words, they look superb.

Excellent communication and service prior to installation. Installation was smooth and quick and all done to time (three months ago).
The system works well and couldn't be happier.
We have recommended Empower to friends and neighbours without hesitation.

earlier this year i found all the staff employed there very helpful in explaining all the details to me also the work was carried out on the date agreed(i had to change by one day beause of my absence on the original date set)which was no problem to them the workmen were very polite and evereything was left in a clean state any subsequend question i had after the install were promptly replied to also i was pleased with the scaffolding company they used my experince with empower deserves a 5star rating
