assisted travel at Enfidha

I recently used assisted travel at Enfidha for the second time. It is really good and the person who meets you arriving and departure is friendly and will get you through without any fuss.

Worst Airport in the world for Assisted Travel

I have unfortunately had to use Assistance at Airports for a number of years now due to mobility issues, this airport as to be the worst ever.
On arriving at the airport off a flight from Cardiff I was wheeled off the aircraft up the connecting tunnel, and asked to wait on seating, while the same assistance person went to collect the next person off the aircraft. this was done for a further 4 people. The last person to be collected was wheeled straight through to Passport control, then Customs then to wait for their baggage to arrive by this assistance person, a total of 25 minutes.
He then returned to transfer each of the other 3 people in turn all the way through to Baggage collection, before finally coming back for me, by the time I finally got to the taxi I had booked, it had take 1hr 50mins from the time I had got off the flight.
THE RETURN EXPERIENCE WAS NO BETTER!!!

Aggressive Security and Customs workers

The Security and Customs Personnel are particularly aggressive, heavy handed and downright rude. We travel through this airport several times a year and invariably are stopped to have our luggage rummaged through. This week one of the females was particularly interested in my Chanel No 5, she removed it from my hand luggage and was stroking it with her hands. She demanded to know “how much” …. I wondered if she meant the cost (more than three days pay for her no doubt) but she wanted to know the quantity (it’s on on the label), I told her 100mls so she reluctantly put it back. It’s a shame because Tunisia and her people are generally fantastic but these people are extremely bad ambassadors for their country. It won’t change so we will probably start going elsewhere where we’re not treated like criminals.

Disappointing Ground Service at Enfidha Airport

I recently travelled through Enfidha airport and was very disappointed with the ground service and check-in experience. The airport does not support digital check-in or boarding passes, so I had to collect my boarding pass at the counter. I arrived three hours before my flight and joined the shortest queue, but it still took 1.5 hours just to reach the counter.
There were no announcements or updates from staff about the delay, and the queue barely moved. When I finally got to the counter, the check-in agent was abrupt and unfriendly, asking for my passport without any greeting or explanation. Even when I politely asked about the delay, the response was brief and dismissive, blaming system issues due to weather but offering no apology or reassurance.
The overall attitude of the ground staff was disappointing—no smiles, no basic manners, and no effort to keep passengers informed or comfortable during a long wait. My passport and boarding pass were handed back to me without a word, and the process felt rushed and impersonal.
I understand that these staff may be third-party handlers, but basic courtesy and communication are essential for a positive travel experience. Many passengers in the queue were commenting on the lack of efficiency and customer service.
I hope Enfidha airport management will address these issues, as improving ground staff training and communication would make a big difference for travellers.

Scammed by disabled assistors,

if you need assistance beware.we returned to the UK last week and having requested 1 wheelchair we were approached by 2 workers with 2 chairs insisting it would be easier if i used a chair.as we travelled thru the check etc without me knowing as i was separated from my partner her guy pushing her found that she was carrying Dinar that i didnt know about...he told her they have new machines that detect money and she will be in a lot of trouble so give it to him and he will hand to the boarder control people...we were left near our gate and were told they would be back to assist us to board the plane, when they didn't return and there was chaos boarding those who required assistance because 2 workers were missing and i was told that my partner had handed over the money it dawned on me that she had been "SCAMMED"..i have emailed "TAV" to report this matter but have not received a reply yet and dont expect one now .so IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE AT ENFIDHA BEWARE OF SCAMMERS,,,,

No where any sigh as their duty free not in dinars. They took away my money! 6 time checked my passport with no reason! Terrible experience! The price in duty free are very expensive 😳 €7 for chips , they don't allow to pay by dinar but on their till only dinar showing!
Toilets dirty, no paper no soap. Smoking area 😅🤣 a room with no windows everyone there Smoking and the doors are opened, all the smoke goes inside the airport. Don't see reason to have Smoking area if everywhere can be it!

Most unhygienic airport I’ve come across!

We arrived at the airport and was initially really pleased. Got through security really quickly and easily. Staff surprisingly nice and friendly, that’s where it ended.
Went to toilet, excrement on toilet flush, no soap or hand sanitiser even when a toilet attendant was standing outside doing nothing and yes I did try every dispenser.
Duty free had no water, or soft drinks, only place to buy them was a burger/ pizza place who apparently was charging £30 for a burger and chips.
Tried a second toilet, still no soap or hand sanitiser, wasn’t even a soap dispenser, they were all removed. This is one of the most unhygienic airports I’ve ever been too and I’ve been to quite a few.
As for the shops to keep you occupied while waiting for your flight, well, you’ll be disappointed, there aren’t any.
Charging points, again none.
Will not be returning, ever!

Our experience was great

We flew from Enfidha airport on Saturday and can say after reading the reviews I was a bit wary of it. Myself and my husband were aware it could be great or it could be really busy. Our experience was great, our flight was 9:30pm and we arrived at 7:15pm, only 4 flights were leaving from the time we arrived to the time we left and that was all for the night. They were all Easy Jet flights.

Your bags go through a scanner as soon as you are inside the airport however the person viewing the scanner didn’t look
up from his phone once whilst we were there so seemed pretty pointless. Check in desk staff were great, walked to security. Forgot to empty a bottle of water that we had so was able to leave this before we did passports and then security again (this time they did checks bags etc).

Duty free seemed expensive for what it was, there is a restaurant but it’s round the other side of the duty free. Basically keep walking and you will see it. Prices weren’t super expensive for an airport. There is more checks before the gate for UK passengers. We boarded at 8:45pm and we were ready to leave early but pilot wasn’t allowed. Overall the process from as soon as we entered the airport was way quicker than our experience at home flying out. I think our evening flight time might have helped and going forward it would be an incentive to take a later flight time as the airport was so quiet. We were a family of 5 with 3 kids.

Pleasantly Surprised – A Smooth Experience at Enfidha Airport

I have to admit, I was a bit concerned after reading some of the negative reviews before my trip. However, my own experience was quite different — pleasantly so. From check-in through to customs, the airport staff were friendly and helpful. The process was smooth, and I never felt rushed or confused.

Be aware that you will be asked about carrying Tunisian dinars (as it's a closed currency) and how much foreign currency you're taking with you, which is standard procedure.

On the downside, the toilets could definitely use an upgrade and a thorough cleaning — that's one area the airport could improve. As for food, it's expensive, but that’s to be expected in most airports around the world.

Overall, my experience was much better than expected — efficient, friendly, and nothing to worry about if you're traveling through Enfidha.

This airport is becoming worse and more…

This airport is becoming worse and more shocking as the years go on .

As everyone is aware tunisisn dinar is a closed currency so I can understand customs asking if people have dt on them
But what I dont understand is why on earth these people are trying to take our £ and asking as we are leaving the country how much £ we have !!!

Its a closed currency
Most of us will take our english money with us to convert
Instead of using atms to avoid
Bank charges etc
But these people
Are trying to take our £ !!!!
No way on this earth would i hand over even 1p
I would be detained
Before I ever let them take my £
I work bloody hard for my money
Absolutely shocking

Avoid being violated by the immigration…

Avoid being violated by the immigration and border control. Bullies of men towards women. Jelous of your British passport. They are on a power trip.

We travelled back on the 29th April 2025.
We have enough allowance for our luggae. Without weighing 1 box they demanding money even after showing them proof through emails that we had purchased enough allowance. After some time the manager there that represents easy jet took my sister to a far corner where there were other rude staff sitting. They shouted at my sister demanding money and told her to shut up. After she pleaded showing them receipts of the allowance they told her she was disembarked from the flight knowing she had 2 chikdren and a sick mother. After telling them they said we don't care. She asked them their names and they said we don't know just get lost. Such rude men. They then pointed in her face and told her they were going to deal with her. They then threatened her with the police. This was horrific and terrifying especially as we don't understand what they are saying. They speak in Arabic, tunisian and French and tell you they don't understand you. As British tourists we should avoid them as they don't respect the British what so ever.
After being disembarked she was left alone. She couldn't book another flight as they wouldn't give her luggae back. After 1 hr 40mins she recieved her luggae and they laughed as they opened it. They made her cry in despair. A police officer walking past told them stop it, you have cancelled her flight so now you have no right to open this. They stopped her from flying out from here and told her to go back. She then travelled to another airport 2 hrs away and booked new flights back to Gatwick.
This was a horrific experience. Ben acha Syed is the man who dealt with my sister as he said. Ben Acha Syed this is no way to treat anyone. I feel sorry for your family if you even have one. Your pathetic men. I can't belive what we have witnessed in 2025!!!!!

Good but could be better

I've been through this airport several times, and I must say, it's incredibly clean and sparkling—definitely puts Gatwick to shame. The people of Tunisia are very friendly, which adds to the overall positive experience.

However, I have a concern regarding the pricing. While all airports tend to charge fees, the prices here seem a bit exorbitant. I wonder why this is the case.

Additionally, I have a personal issue with the height of the walkway that crosses about 300 meters up. I understand this might not be a problem for most, but it would be great if the sides of the walkway could be covered for those of us who aren’t fond of heights.

Other than these few points, it's an excellent airport with great service!

Horrible airport

Horrible airport, toilets are so dirty, staff are rude and passport control are useless idiots aswel as the the rest of the clowns in that airport. Scrolling through social media while holding my passport and my toddlers instead of stamping it. Just had us standing there while my toddler whinges and cries. Horrible people! Horrible country ! Wouldn't return even if you payed me 🤢🤢

0* would be more appropriate!

This is my experience from my departing flight from Enfidha-Hammamet airport going to LGW.

1. As soon as you enter, you have to put your belongings through the x-ray machine. Do not expect the staff to help with suitcases or even get up from their plastic chair if a bag gets stuck in between the rolling pins. My friends small sidebag got stuck and the staff member just sat and watched her struggle to safely remove the bag from the rolling pins. He didn’t bother to offer to help or even stop the machine so that the rolling pins could stop.

2. There is only one cafe located in the airport once you’ve gone through security and duty free called Cakes & Bakes or something along the lines of that. Not only do the staff work at the slowest pace, taking their leisurely time despite a queue of 75 customers. Two servers at the till and only one barista.
I am not one to bash or complain about customer service because I’ve worked in this area before and know how frustrating and tiring it can be however, that doesn’t justify incompetence. My friend and I made separate orders. She ordered a tuna wrap and bottled water whereas I ordered a tuna wrap, bottled water and caramel frappe. The lady after me also requested for a tuna wrap. The lady who took all our orders was the same person. The time comes to now pay the bill with a the second staff member who was manning the tills. I repeated what I had ordered and the lady then informed me that there tuna wraps had finished and only 2 were left. One went to my friend and the other went to the lady who had ordered AFTER me. She is either very incompetent at her job or just did it out of spite. I understand it’s a very trivial thing but when you’ve been up since the crack of dawn, overstimulated with the loud music, humid environment inside the airport and lack of customer service, it is a recipe for disaster.

I have not been to any other Tunisian airports so cannot recommend another one to fly into/depart from however, I would highly recommend to not fly into or from this airport. The lack of customer service, nonchalant attitude of entitlement and lack of cleanliness should be enough to steer you away from this terrible airport. If I could give this 0 stars, I genuinely would.

I don’t know why they are same colour and religion. Really really rude staff. My son couldn’t walk because of vomiting and diarrhoea we waited for assistance. They left us and helped everyone else. We were the only ones waiting and everyone had gone. At end I made him walk

Absolutely the worst airport experience…

Absolutely the worst airport experience I have ever had.
On arrival at the airport, about 6 coaches all arrived at the same time. We had to wait outside the airport in huge queues just to get into the building through a scanner. As a disabled person this was a terrible ordeal. We booked assistance, but on arrival were told to go and check in first. We had to walk the entire length of the airport to check in then back to the Disabled Assistance area, where we waited and waited for a wheelchair. Many people in the area were tearful and upset because their flights were boarding and still no one had come to help. Eventually they were rushed off and we were left sitting there, not even able to get to the departure lounge or anywhere for food and drink. My partner eventually went and found a wheelchair somewhere and had to push me himself. The only help we got was when we were eventually at the boarding gate. The whole airport is a ridiculous set up and the only good thing was that it was not raining when we had to queue outside for an hour. If they want tourists to come to Tunisia they need to make massive changes to the way they operate. We have also never been asked to show our passports so many times in one trip. Altogether a nightmare of an airport and a total waste of time booking any assistance. Also there appeared to be only ONE disabled toilet, which was closed and guarded by a woman with a mop who would not let me in, so I had to struggle with the normal ladies toilets.
