Horrific

Horrific! They left faulty meters and smart meter in my property from 28/5/21 to 29/09/21 - EON only changed the smart meter on 29/09/21 after my vulnerable 15 year old daughter suffered a significant injury from touching the smart meter. I had already arranged to change suppliers on the 1st October. I had complained to the energy ombudsman several times and complaints upheld. Still have not received refund owing or the compensation ordered by the energy ombudsman. I have lost count of the hours spent on the phone, the emails ignored etc by EON. Thankfully my new energy supplier is fantastic with excellent customer service. I would strongly advise never to use EON - they are absolute cowboys and should be forcibly stopped from operating. Their customer service advisors are so rude, you spend hours on the phone and I do mean hours, they ignore your emails so you end up having to go to energy ombudsman. Never come across such appalling service, right across the board, from any company and will never, ever use EON again.

E.ON FAILURES...

Renewed my account in August and I was advised to cancel my direct debit. Set up new dd and low and behold this is cancelled by E.on they then bill me at non-direct debit rate and demand payment with menaces. To add further insult they didn't upgrade/change my account in August after all and said I never called to upgrade, this despite giving me a £10 credit for being on the call for over an hour to upgrade. Appalling customer/agent service to get some recourse and having to wait 3 weeks (15) working days for someone to listen to the call. I've been harassed almost daily via auto calls, texts and emails as well as letters demanding money because they cancelled the new direct debit. Any company shouldn't behave in this manner let alone a domestic supplier with government backed legislation. I'm frustrated and annoyed with E.on please try ringing a possible new supplier before you switch as dealing with E.on is atrocious, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing type company, STAY CLEAR IF YOU CAN!

Useless customer service

Useless. Tried to ring several times today to discuss my renewal quote
(apparently increased by £200 a year). Got through to someone who then said she'd pass me on to relevant department then the phone line went dead. Thanks. Rang again, was told computer systems down, ring back in 2 hours, rang again, told the same, but ring back in 24 hours. Waste of time.

EON is the best company for being…

EON is the best company for being devious, I left EON on the 25th of Aril 2021with £266=48 in credit, did not hear from EON for several weeks, I phoned and waited (usual stuff).was assured it would be dealt with promptly, waited several more weeks and phoned again ,same answer. Then I got on to their Text service,, same answer but added was "dont worry you money is safe with us" well I wanted it safe with me! On the 1st of September 2021 Customer services gave me a call for the first time to say they would deal with my complaint, £30=00 was offered as compensation because it had taken more than forty two days to respond to my complaint. it had in fact taken "one hundred and thirty eight days to deal with this complaint" Now the tactic employed! they ignore your last email and say "no response from you and give you seven days to respond" remember they took one hundred and thirty eight days just to deal with this complaint. Anyway the upshot is, they sent me a cheque for £82=22 and withdrew any compensation. I view that as two fingers to a once loyal customer. their customer services is the poorest I have ever encountered in my seventy nine years on this Planet ,REMEMBER THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU!!!

This is the worst company i have ever…

This is the worst company i have ever dealt with. We had a smart meter which didnt work. Would not accept the gas. After about 10 calls they changed it for a prepayment meter, but did not put the £43 gas credit on. I was told the £43 would be on the card when it came - it was not. I called about 7 times and eventually they said they were sending a new card card with the £43 on. They havent. I have called 5 times since - now they cant even find my account - apparently i dont exist. Useless. Now i have no gas. Just spend nearly 40 mins on hold trying to get through them, to be told i dont exist and now on hold again for 15 minutes. These people do not deserve to be in business. My pet dog could run the company better. I am now giving up trying to contact them and just changing to somebody else. They can use my £43 to help recruit some better staff. Unbelievable Doesnt even deserve 1 star in my opinion.

Bunch of thieves

My meter stopped working during the lockdown, I called them since I consider this to be an emergency and they told me that this wasn't considered an energency so they couldn't sent anybody to fix the broken meter.
They also told me NOT to top up while the meter wasn't working since it might happen that the money gets lost. I did that.. after 6 months when the lockdown was lifted they finally sent a repairman and after that they informed me that I owe them £680 for the affromentioned period, which was insane since I used to have over £250 in credit in my account and my estimated monthly electricity consume was somewhere around £70.
I complained, they didn't care and their argument was that the £680 were calculated based on my past electricity ussage which is lie since I never spent over £70 pm and eon was claiming I was using over £120 pm. Ridiculous.
Stay away from this company at all cost

Absolutely horrendous

Absolutely horrendous. So difficult I'm almost in tears. My throat is dry, my heart is pounding and I'm so ducking angry I could burst! How in this day and age is it so difficult to speak with a competent human being. I spent over an hour on hold and got disconnected, then spent another 30 minutes on hold only to get absolutely nowhere. I get home from work and try the chat bot, after ten minutes of success I'm cut off during the credit check and when I log back in it says the chat bot is closed and I can't do anything about it until tomorrow morning. So demoralising, disappointing and just generally unacceptable. I couldn't have a lower opinion of this company and not only will I not recommend them but I'll actively encourage people to look elsewhere.

Worst utility company

Worst utility company. Online site not fit for purpose, call centre staff not properly trained, have no understanding of the issue. I have recently moved into a property and unfortunately decided it would be easier to stay with EON as they were the existing provider. Instead of using the photographed dated and verified meter readings we provided on the takeover date they have used estimated readings that bear no relation to the actual meter reading. In doing so they say we owe over £2000.00. I have spoken to 4 staff who seem to understand then keep issuing new incorrect invoices which make the problem worse. They keep promising to ring back but never do, I am really not sure where I can go next apart from the ombudsman. I was with Bulb at my previous address, they are excellent. Do not use EON........

Omg same issues as all the people on…

Omg same issues as all the people on here , so have a smart meter fitted then get a bill of 33k I mean I have to be powering the city for that amount. After hours on the phone and weeks of stress to our mental health they bring the bill down to 330 so paid this . Oh guess what few month later get another bill for £100 and threatening us with debt collection they've never contact us about this £100 and not only that it was under a different account number most of this debt was late charges we have never been told of this debt and why the hell do we have 2 accounts with them ? They don't know what they're doing on the phone from 9am to 5pm no answers apart from being told they can't guarantee debt collectors turning up up even though we've been on the phone to them for months about the other ridiculous debt . This company is a disgrace and need to shut down . We will be taking this further want compensation .

Switched suppliers in 2018

Switched suppliers in 2018. I was upto date with my bills having a smart meter. I had switched twice from 2018 to moving home in may this year. I received a final bill of £148. Nearly 3 years after switching, plus they had added on charges which took it upto approx £230. Now they have shotgunned my credit file and Equifax are saying that it will stay on my credit file for 6 years. Even though it is a closed account and I have reluctantly paid this bill, even though they are supposed to send you a final bill when switching. I asked them for an itemised bill to show me exactly how much I owed. They wanted the money first. Stay away from the big six and go with a smaller company. Nobody should have to give meter readings anymore. Smart meters are supposed to do the work for you.
I would not recommend eon. Another rip. Off energy company with bad customer service. Stay away, they might show you cheap tariffs but sting you when you leave.

I moved into a new house pregnant

I moved into a new house pregnant, new home had had electricity and gas supply cut. Having spent from 9am until 5pm on the phone been cut off and had call back throughout the day, rude staff, and being passed around in circles and cut off all day long, they sent an engineer who reinstalled my electrical supply by 7:30pm. Two weeks later I’m still battling to get a card to top up gas metre. I have been on the phone since 9am been sent to shops with codes been promised call back. Still no card gas is running out and the staff have failed on 4 separate occasions to post out the promised top card. It’s almost 4pm and still not sorted. Steer clear of eon they are terrible all they do is make empty promises and fail to deliver. The call centre staff just pass you on and cut you off. Worse than rubbish.

Eon is crap in general

When I got the smart meter I thought it was a good idea but oh my god I was wrong. Whenever I top up on there crap app it tells me the payment had gone through but I look at the meter and it tells me that I'm on emergency credit. It also doesn't help that the only time you can call them for times like that is 9am to 5pm, aka my work hours. To anyone reading this don't sign up to this scam its a load of crap

Eon are predators.

Eon were fine until they kept harassing me about installing a Smart meter. I broke down eventually and let the guy come to check the place. He turned up for 5 minutes, took a reading and said he'd have to come back.

Next month I received a bill for £800. My bill, as of this writing, is approximately £1500. I am not the first person they've done this to, judging by stories online.

If they hound you about installing a Smart meter, cease your custom with them and find another supplier. They will do everything they can to hurt you.

I have always paid my electricity bill…

I have always paid my electricity bill on the day I received it. My most recent bill was duly paid the same way and it was logged on my bank account as paid. I received a demand letter a couple of weeks later for the 'unpaid' amount. I contacted them and was asked to send proof of payment, so I sent pictorial evidence from my bank statement. I then received a thank you email. A few days later I was told that the onus was on me to check with my bank about the unpaid amount. I thought it was not up to me and as far as I was concerned I had done my part. I have now received a demanding letter plus the threat of paying for a debt collector. I am very angry about this. I spent all morning contacting and talking to my bank and they are going to contact E-On on my behalf. My bank thinks it's an error on E-On's part. Well E-ON as far as I'm concerned you can B-Off and I will seek another provider. I see E-On have dreadful reviews and now here's another one to add to the enormous list. A little addition to my review. Today I received another, bill with the added amount of £!0 to cover the cost of late payment. These people are unbelievable. Why should I pay for a late payment when I paid on the day I received the initial bill. I will be taking this further. This afternoon, I swapped to Octopus ......... now I am waiting to see what E.ON is going to charge me for leaving them. Good Riddance E.ON!!!!!!
