I wish i could give 0/5

I wish i could give 0/5 . This is by far the absolute worst service you could possibly buy or be stuck with. All incompetent literally no one knows anything at all . your name , credentials are always wrong, it takes forever for them to change it . By the meantime you apply for credit card and they refuse it and it affects your credit , and the infinite loop goes on . Ive called multiple times to resolve issues about credentials no one takes actions. Dont ever go with equifax, if a bank tells with they are affiliated with equifax only ,leave . You will only have problems from now on if you decide to go with route .

Equifax processes are inconsistent and full of mistakes

- I have 4 accounts that were on my credit report which should not be there.
- I submitted a dispute with all the documents that the dispute form says
- Dispute gets denied saying missing of invalid documents
- I call, customer service says they don't see anything missing and will open a special case and I will receive an email
- I never receive an email. A few days later I call back. Support says there's no special case. (So equifax legitimately lied and ignored an issue). The lady tells me what went wrong so I can fix it and then sends me another dispute form by email
- The lady sent me the wrong dispute form so I re-submitting the dispute myself from the beginning.
- Equifax removes 3 of the 4 accounts
- I call and the 4th account isn't their fault as a third party used an incorrect digit
- I contact the third party and get the 4th account corrected
- I submit another dispute with equifax with the exact same documents that were previously accepted for removing the 3 other accounts (this dispute is just for the 4th account with the corrected digits)
- Equifax sends me an email saying missing documents
- I call equifax. The lady sees nothing wrong and deflects the issue. She first tells me she doesn't see the account. Then later she found it. She mistakenly tells me that the account will stay there for 6 years (which is not correct as the account is mistakenly on my report currently).
- Equifax lady then sends me the wrong dispute form.
- I have submitted the exact same dispute once again and will see if they can correctly and finally remove the last account or not, one month later of going back and fourth.

- The customer support people are from overseas with english as their second language, making it hard to understand. Plus sometimes the call connection is poor

- I am applying for a mortgage and all these MISTAKES, and INCONSISTENCIES with equifax and their customer support has caused a one month delay and has caused big issues with my mortgage to the point where I will be attempting to add my story to any possible class action lawsuits

I thought Equifax was there to protect…

I thought Equifax was there to protect us, but that's not really the case. I suffered identity theft and reported it. What did they do? Contact the creditor who had two fraudulent credit cards in my name. In the message they sent me following my complaint and after contacting the creditor: "The investigation into your dispute is complete and we have processed it based on the creditor's response.*
For any questions, please contact the creditor directly." WOW! I contacted the creditor and they had no answers for me. Very disappointed with Equifax's service. However, the pressure they put on me to buy protection, for that, they had all the answers. They offered it to me at $39/month, then at $29/month, and finally, $5/month. Very, very disappointed!

Shoddy practices

Shoddy practices. If you request a one time credit report, and don’t realize there is a scam they’re playing, they will automatically start deducting $28 a month from your credit card. Then if you call to complain (and good luck finding a human to talk to), they will refuse to refund you the charges. They have built a business based on unethical practices.

Very useless company

Very useless company , I have a membership thinking to make easy to solve some issues, but zero zero zero quality service. Since 3 months I'm calling everyday, for the same question the different agent gave me different response, the best is to stay on the line long time after someone hang-up, I recall sometimes 4 , 5 times a day , I'm like a dog who wants to bite his tail. Federal authorities should shutdown this credit bureau

Terrible scam of a service

Terrible scam of a service

Paid for the premium service - have NEVER been able to log in or even get a credit report. It says "The email and password combination you entered is incorrect. Please try again. Your account will lock after 3 incorrect attempts." Trying to cancel the monthly service as it's not fit for service.

The worst company I have ever seen

The worst company I have ever seen . They steal information and make themselves the keepers of good faith for customers and they ruin lifes of families and people . Their agents are trained to manipulate people. This type of company should not exist it is very dangerous on society. They ruined lives of middle class families. They decided how we should live and not us. They are the fraud making money by ruining people lifes.

I’d rate it at zero if I could

I’d rate it at zero if I could! The 7 months of hell I’ve been through with Equifax as an executor is beyond description. If I ran this company I’d be ashamed. If I worked for it I’d be ashamed. Every single person and process I’ve encountered is inept.

Staff have twice told me things that are factually WRONG regarding directions on Equifax’s website. They then patronized me saying that I WAS WRONG when I was reading to them directly them from the Equifax website! (Twice staff told me that I must submit two pieces of my government issued ID though the website and the death notice fork indicate that only one piece is required!)

Staff told me that I didn’t submit a document (death certificate) as part of a mailed submission but I have a photocopy of the entire package that I mailed which included the death certificate!

Further, staff told me to resubmit the death notice form online for the SECOND time (my third time in entirety because I also submitted a form and documentation by mail after Equifax denied my first online death notice form without explanation of what was wrong with it). This 3rd time, I was told by staff that I must resubmit online on the basis that according to Equifax staff the paper package I mailed was missing the death certificate! However, I can’t now submit the death notice form because the form won’t allow me to upload a file (a will) larger than 10 mg nor will it permit uploading more than 3 documents (though staff told me I must upload FIVE documents - the deceased’s will, the deceased’s death certificate, 2 pieces of my government issued, and my tax notice or utility bill.

It’s astounding that a company can be this dysfunctional yet hold so much power and make money. I used to have a credit monitoring subscription but cancelled it and I’d never give this business one cent again. I now pay for identity theft insurance elsewhere and it costs less.

The government should also be ashamed that it does not protect the deceased from identity theft without going thorough this deplorable company.

Horrible Service and Website

Horrible Service, No cancelation option on the online website and they make you call them for a simple cancelation of the product. When you ask them why they claim it's for security reasons but obv thats some bs and they just expect you to get lazy and not call so they keep getting paid for NOTHING!

This is THE WORST company

This is THE WORST company. I paid them 21/month for over a year - BARELY used my account, and to cancel the account, you have to call them and they as you way too many personal questions to "confirm your identity".

I could barely understand the agent helping me due to both her accent and their awful phone system cutting in and out. She was kind enough and clearly just reading off a screen - but the process to cancel my account took over 20 mins. They tried offering me a discount etc...
Very frustrating experience. I will never use them again. Also - my bank app (TD) not has a credit score integrated their banking app... for free.

Equifax needs to be investigated.

The government has to clamp down on Equifax or do away with them altogether. The other day I received a email telling me that my credit score went down a lot and it wasn’t clear why it down. My guess is my credit card company gave me another card and that’s what hurt me with Equifax. TransUnion did not touch my score.
I am calling a Lawyer to see where my rights are with Equifax. A petition is necessary to get the government to take action. Unfortunately I was scammed, before that my credit score was in the 900 range and I got my finances back in order paying my cards off like clockwork but Equifax makes it impossible to move ahead because they put you in a category that you can’t get out of. This credit utilization of keeping your spending under 30% is absolute B.S.. I’m being treated like a child that cannot be trusted and it’s very insulting. I don’t have a car and I need to send away for items. I truly regret signing up with Capital One for this reading and Equifax exploits ever further. I’m really hope a class action lawsuit will take place one day. We need to contact our MPs about how Equifax goes way too far with our financial rights. They need to be called out and to be investigated.

Trying to get my credit report from Equifax …

Trying to get my credit report from Equifax is like pulling teeth. They want me to buy a subscription in order to get it. They actually do not know it's the law in Canada that both trans Union and Equifax must provide a free credit report. My trans Union is correct Equifax is full of errors. Over 200 points worth. Calling my lawyer. Yes, Canadians are legally entitled to a free copy of their credit report from each of the two main credit reporting agencies in Canada, Equifax and TransUnion. You can access these reports online for free, and you also have the option to request a free copy by mail, phone, or in person.

Awful Experience

Had a possible issue involving my credit score. Accessing TransUnion via my bank (RBC) was no problem. Equifax, on the other hand, was a brutal experience. I signed up for their online service, only to be directed to a screen showing an error message. When I tried to login, it directed me to a blank page. I tried this in Safari and Chrome, with the same results. Had to waste time calling Equifax to make sure I didn't accidentally give my information out to a fraudulent site. After wasting 30 minutes on the phone, it was confirmed that the error message and blank page was "normal" as my account was still being verified!?!? Customer service rep was not helpful. When I finally accessed the site, I'm prompted to pay $24.95/m for a service that will allow me to access MY credit score "for free". It's not free, unless you have it mailed to you. This company is a scam and the government should do away with private companies controlling our ability to access, dispute, confirm, etc our credit scores.

Always mixing profiles with someone else. Other person don’t have anything common with me, still they end up mixing profiles every year my credit score drops because of this. Then there is 2 month process to sort everything out, only to find everything went to shit next year again.

The call centre is extremely noisy

The call centre is extremely noisy, so much that you can barely hear the person you are talking to. Phone connection is also very poor. You constantly have to repeat yourself or ask them to repeat. Not the staff's fault just bad phone system and most likely a very crowded call centre.

Equifax won't let me cancel a subscription

I had to get an Equifax report for a bank that wasn't doing its job correctly. (TD). In order to get this report I had to sign up for $26/month. After I received the report I cancelled my subscription because I only needed it for this one thing. The cancellation process was at least 30 questions where they kept trying to get you to keep signing on. At the end of which I was told that it was indeed cancelled only to be billed the following month. It's impossibly hard to cancel your subscription with Equifax. Try to find a different way to get your information. I had to block them on my credit card.
