I have nothing but high praise for Eric Smith Solicitors London team who were always happy to respond to emails and enquiries quickly and efficiently, keeping us up-to-date and informed throughout the stressful house buying.

Trust me, having dealt with two previous conveyancing firms in the last few years when assisting my parents house move, Eric Smith Solicitors are a class onto themselves and totally worth the five star reviews. I was curious and a little sceptical and actually picked them due to their rating - surely it wasn't THAT good? I have not been disappointed and was actually impressed - even the vendors said they felt our solicitors were 'on it'.

With the previous two conveyancing firms I've instructed before, I had to chase to get information, or remind them about paperwork and key dates, with ESS I never felt like I had to supervise. What impressed me most, was we were forwarded our returned enquiry docs during the summer holidays when our main conveyancer was said to be on Annual Leave. We assumed all would be quiet whilst he was away, but were pleasantly surprised when a colleague of his forwarded on a whole host of information and chased a few more docs for us to keep things moving along.

This company also helped give me confidence that remote conveyancing can work in this day and age with a good scanner, email, phone and Royal Mail Special Delivery as our purchase was based in Cardiff despite ESS being based in London and Manchester. A telephone call was never unanswered and if they were busy with another client, they'd happily return calls a few hours later.

I have already recommended Eric Smith Solicitors to friends starting their own house buying journeys and if we were to move again in the distant future, we'll think of no other firm. Thanks to the team and for all your hard work helping us through this major milestone! You were worth every penny for the service we received.

They may be cheap but there is a reason for that, completely incompetent - cowboys.
Our chain simply would not have completed if it wasn’t for the other solicitors in the chain carrying Harjeet Balhru. No communication, rude, slow, he only finally did things when threatened with ‘notice’ (a large fine). Horrendous experience. Avoid.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Wouldn’t even give them one star, only doing so as it’s required on the feedback form. Has ignored calls emails and has been inactive for the best part of 2 months. The solicitor dealing with my case left and wasn’t even replaced until a month later. Currently jeopardising my house sale, no response, no activity, absolutely useless!!!!!!

This was my first house purchase and we were on a tight schedule due to the sellers and erichsmith were the only ones who said they could do it in the time frame, and they did! We completed today, I had great service from everyone involved, all emails were replied to almost instantly! I didn’t know what to expect but was extremely happy with the service I received. Thank you to everyone!

I’m really angry I actually had to give one star, I don’t think the good reviews are for this company more like written by this company. This firm, despite being promised a direct number to the assigned solicitor, did not, the switchboard only take messages, they are an outsourced service, which quite frankly don’t provide any such thing, I’m 3 weeks into my purchase and already it’s in a mess, there is plenty of time to get this purchase to complete at the same time as my sale, if my sale doesn’t complete I lose my buyers, I’ve got until 30 December then I’m homeless, they tell me they have many other clients wishing to complete are these my concern certainly not! Then they’ve got flu, again this is not my concern and very unprofessional to give excuses to clients. Bear in mind they have a 72hrs turnaround on getting back to the client. Remember this when they give you a quote, these things they don’t tell you about, absolute lies to get me to instruct them and now they don’t even get back to me.

In an industry which is notorious for bad service, Eric Smith solicitors seems to be an oasis! I was incredibly impressed with the service I received, calls were answered without fail, emails were responded to quickly and my nominated solicitor went above and beyond to help out in some particularly challenging situations. They even have an amazing app so you can follow the progress of your case at your convenience. Excellent all round service. Very competitive prices. I have already recommended them to 2 colleagues and a family member!!

I was a bit skeptical choosing the lowest price conveyancers I could find, and was worried the service wouldn’t be as thorough as the big name solicitors with big price tags. I was wrong to worry as our experience using Eric Smith as our conveyancers was nothing less than perfect. There was no issues on our side as everything was done thoroughly and properly. Our buyer’s conveyancers took a very long time however Jack was always checking for updates and reporting back to us so we always knew what was going on. Jack is a real asset to the team and would 100% recommend this company to anyone. :)

This has been the worst experience of conveyancing I have ever had. As a cash buyer purchasing a flat with no chain, it has taken 3 months so far and I still don’t have the report on title, or any dates for exchange of contracts.
I am onto the 2nd solicitor working the case, neither have been responsive to emails or calls. When I call their manager, he ‘puts me through’ to them, only for it to go to voicemail. Which is not returned.
This has put the sale at risk, and the fact that no one ever returns my calls or emails just shows an utter lack of concern for both parties, at what is arguably the most stressful transaction a person ever does, at the worst time economically.
You are better off paying a bit more and using a local solicitor who will actually communicate with you.
