Great coaches, high level tournament, great teammates, great experience, learned a lot and they showed me that I have a lot more to learn.

Coming to a tournament for the first time in Lyon France was an amazing experience overall. Having to explore the place, seeing key spots were just great. Going into my experience with the team it was great as well interacting with them to get to know them and hearing them out to know where they are at with their career. Hearing them just made me realize a lot and by just that it was a good learning experience. At the end being a bench warmer on the team it was a learning lesson, seeing the competition at higher levels just made me think a lot about where I’m at and with the coach communicating with me at the end of the games talking about how the game should be played and where I should improve was the best thing to get. Overall with this experience it opened my eyes to a newer level and by the communicating with the team it felt like we were like a family and together.

My son's August 2022 Summer course was cancelled less than 24 hours before it was due to start. A refund has not been forthcoming nor have they replied to me. I have lost over 1000 euros. I see they are advertising the junior Summer programme for 2023. Do not give your money to them !

It is a total SCAM. Camp cancelled without any reason and any explanation. Tough to get a refund and even a reply. Avoid it otherwise will lose money.

Was also scammed out of about 1000€ as the August 14th camp was cancelled a few hours before. No refund and all of the contact numbers in Spain, the UK, and even the personal cell number of one of staff are out of service. Emails are sent back-not valid addresses.

Can anything be done against these scalliwags who have dashed the hopes and possibly the motivation of scores of young people who just dreamed of improving their performance? My son's disappointment was almost the worst part of the experience.

I am ready to join anyone interested in initiating any kind of action against them.

Update: Europe Basketball Academy posted on their Facebook page on November 19,2022. They announced that the academy team will be playing in a tournament in Belgium this month. Against teams from 5 other countries. What team???? Just more BS???

This is a FRAUDULENT company. After numerous research, we chose this academy because it seemed to be a rather legitimate and worthwhile school for our son. We made the payment for the 2-week camp in August, and just 2 hours before his flight departure to Barcelona, the contact person informed us that the camp was cancelled because "too many parents were concerned with the latest wave of Covid-19 outbreak”. We were then informed by their so-called accounting department that our full prepaid amount would be refunded within 3 months time, but to date (we are now in December) we have received nothing. I have written numerous emails but have not received any answers. I tried calling their office numbers (both in Spain and in the UK) and the numbers are cancelled. I also tried writing comments on their IG and FB pages, but these too do not work since they have deactivated the permission to comment on social media. Evidently, this is a very organized fraudulent organization that spends a lot of resources on good PR and communication, as well as bots and trolls to showcase itself as a respectable organization. I am surprised that the police have not busted these people yet. Beware and STAY AWAY from the Europe Basketball Academy.

Team of boys arrived to Barcelona for a camp last August. 1 day before the start informed about the cancelation by a very poor email, without reasonable explanation.
Promised in email to make a full refund in 90 days. 90 days passed and no money, still no answering to emails.
Groupage claim is on it's way.

I was scammed, i've payed for 3 months and i ve been there only for 1 and a half, because after the accademy have closed. I got no refunded, and there is no way to get money back. This is a scam, there is someone here that have got his money back? If someone knows how to do that please contact me, or lets make a group where is possible to exchange information to get refunded. I know that some guys have refunfed from the bank proving that was a scam. If someone have some information please contact.

I was at the September pro placement. Do not spend your money on any of the programs. Nothing is like advertised, and when you email asking where your refundable deposits and money they owe you for they don’t respond. No coaches come out to watch you. There’s no games with top teams as promised. We just scrimmage each other 1 time out of the week. This camp is just a month long workout that’s not worth it at all. Trust me. And all the 5 star reviews are from fake accounts made by the academy.

So I was in the junior progam and yeah just like everyone else I got scammed out of 1000 euros. They cut off all the contacts don't respond and just scam you. Looks legit on their instagram and website but they are complete frauds.

I want to write an update to the cancelled August Junior Summer camp. It was bad enough that EBA cancelled the camp the night before, when the participants were either in Barcelon already, or were in the air flying there. But EBA promised it would refund the money for the camp (965 euro plus 60 euro sport insurance) within 90 days. No one, not from the August camp, or from the July camp has recieved money back from EBA. Despite sending them emails, they have not been in contact once. Yet they still post photos to Facebook. EBA are scammers. They take money, ruin children and partents holidays and never pay anything back.

Accommodation:
The accommodation is not the same that it is on the videos. We stayed at some hotel-like area with no air conditioning and tons of mosquitos. We were brought fans but all they did was blow hot air. The mattresses were small and hard. There may be three to five people to a room but only one room key. If you are not all together, you’ll have to wait outside for a while and get bitten by mosquitoes. As far as laundry was concerned, they were unprepared to accommodate and the players have to find a way to do it themselves.

Practices/workouts:
There are two practices per day. After the first practice players take off their jerseys and they are barely washed and not dried for the second practice. There are over 40 players and each person gets a different jersey from the first practice and they have a funky blue cheese smell. The practice that I attended was just a bunch of conditioning followed by an unorganized scrimmage. The guy that ran the practice was a teenager with no basketball experience that helped the head coach. They also mix pro placement players (players that are looking to play professionally) with the skill development players (players that are trying to develop basketball skills) in scrimmages. Things that they advertise such as the Yugoslav shooting lab do not exist. I never saw any shooting machines while I was there. There is no weight room, pool, or sauna that is owned by them. Players walk to a different public gym after practice and can decide whether or not to lift there.

Food:
The gourmet food shown in the videos is not the same food that you get from the restaurant. Breakfast is served outside of the rooms and you get a mini muffin or make a sandwich with sliced bread salami and cheese. The restaurant was shut down around the third week due to “water problems” and it did not open back up. It seemed more so that they did not pay for enough food for the entire duration of the month. Pro placement players were too far walking distance (35 minute drive) from the restaurant and after eating we would have to sit and wait for an hour or more to get back to the “hotel”. Players get from point A to point B with taxis that the camp calls or by walking.

Academy Staff:
The guys that run the camp can be pretty rude at times and players would get into it with them. Near the end of the program they literally just stopped responding to players when they were asked questions in the group chats about their transportation or food.

Conclusion:
The website is not an accurate depiction of what is really going on. Everything on their website is just a bunch of smoke and mirrors to draw basketball players to Spain. If anyone presents the academy with these bad reviews the academy is quick to denounce everything within seconds with a reply email claiming that they are legitimate. There were no scouts at this academy. I don’t know of anyone that got signed from the time I was there. This is an honest review and if they respond saying anything otherwise they’re lying. I truly hope that they can change the way that they run this Academy and that they can be honest about what they really do offer. I wish anyone trying to reach their basketball goals the best!

I thought very highly of this academy before arriving here. It turned out to be the absolute worst thing I have ever experienced from top to bottom. This is NOT what they advertise it to be. Upon my arrival, I sat at the airport for 3 hours before I was picked up. No phone service. I sent them my arrival time many times and they were nowhere to be found. They finally showed up and took us to our "hotel" which was actually a hostal. This is no exaggeration, I honestly did not think I was going to make it from the airport to our room the way our driver drove us there. Excessive speeding, swerving in and out of traffic and riding close enough to cars where if you reach your hand out, you have a good chance of touching another moving vehicle. When we arrived, our room had nothing but 2 beds and a bed sheet. Yes just a bed sheet with no blanket. There was no toilet paper, bath towels or face towels, and no soap. The toilet seat was not even attached to the toilet, it was just placed on top. The shower curtain was ripped halfway down and was already covered in mold, and it didn't even cover the perimeter of the shower. The shower floor did not hold the water in so the bathroom floor flooded every single time you took a shower. Every time. We had to spend our own money to provide ourselves with towels and bath rugs and appliances a"hotel" should provide. But that's the false advertisement. The living space is above a restaurant, and it is gnat infested. They are everywhere dead and alive. The walls are stained. There is a public bathroom at the end of the hallway that somehow got turned into a storage/trash can. There is trash in the sink and all over the floor. It was not a working bathroom and it was impossible to use if you wanted to. The blankets they could've provided but didn't care to, were in a storage room piled up on each other and were stained and smelly. There's no telling how long they have been sitting there. I was told to arrive on the 1st of September, we did not do anything or have access to anything basketball wise until September 6th. They did not feed us until then as well because the camp didn't "start yet." A lot of players including myself had to spend a large amount of money we didn't want to in our first couple of days just to eat and take care of our room. The A/C units worked when they wanted to. If you turn it off, there's a good chance you won't be able to turn it back on. The remotes to the units don't work. If you got a room where it blows out heat, then that is what you were stuck with. keep in mind this is in the summer time. The "nutritious" food they provide. Let's start with breakfast. The breakfast provided was clumpy yogurt, oranges, bananas, and a loaf of bread and oats. For several days in a row. The Lunches provided was white rice not cooked all the way, chicken breasts with not a single spec of seasoning, cooked as is. Chicken nuggets and fries that were not done. They were grey on the inside. Salami with peppers, pasta, and a square piece of cheese. This menu was swapped around in different orders every day. Oh and tuna spaghetti. Yes, tuna spaghetti. The worst food WE, and I'm speaking for many others, have ever been served and nothing was thoroughly cooked. The gym was about 25 minutes walking distance from where we lived. 2 practices a day. So make that walk 4 times. We did more walking than practicing. Every single day. 45 players trying to practice at one time on one single basketball court. That's as many players as a football team. Imagine trying to practice 45 players on one single basketball court. The gym had no A/C just like everywhere else. If you're a basketball player then you know it's way too many people at once and a gym with no air conditioning can be dangerous. Humidity and sweat mixed together is not safe for a basketball court. Every 5 minutes a player fell from the unsafe floor. Injuries happened left and right every single day and the staff had 0 concerns for anyone's health. I don't recall not a single time if a coach asked if anyone was okay out of kindness or curiosity. We were forced to pay insurance fees or we couldn't attend. A guy cut his finger open and it got infected and had to go to the hospital. He was forced to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket to take care of his injury, something the academy said they would do. He didn't have any more money left to spend, for food, for anything. They didn't care. They don't care about anything and they don't care about you. This is the biggest scam there is and they have been getting away with this for way too long. Many players brought up their concerns and frustrations just for them to turn their head. They are selling dreams and scamming kids. The best false advertisement I have seen. The advertisement is better than the academy. Keep your money no matter how good it looks. They don't help and do not careto A SCAM

I write you this review on one of the last days I will be practicing. This academy is a scam. It really is. I came for a preseason tournament where it was said we would play against ACB, LEB Gold, LEB Silver teams. we did not play against them. No scouts at practices. It does not make sense. The academy did not pay the water bill so there was no water at our restaurant.

The hotel they give you is not the hotel in the pictures and videos it seems.

My room did not have toilet paper we had to buy it. The room had no towels in it. We have to buy them.

Preseason tournament did not lead right into program. Had to buy our own food and was not told until last moment

The restaurants water got shut off so they couldn’t clean dishes or the restaurant itself. I walked in there one day and found a cockroach.

The academy is a scam and I was told upon arrival that they were facing about 30 lawsuits. do not come to this academy. there are two professionals here who were told they would be getting jobs, but have not gotten them yet. it is a big scam, don't waste your money.

They cancelled the camp one day before the camp on the 14th. of Aug. and no refunds till now, nobody replies to my last messages or emails.

Sadly, all the negative reviews are true.
Two days before our camp was due to start on Aug. 15 the EBA informed us that it would be held on outdoor courts - in the middle of a Spanish summer. Then, on the night before my son was due to fly out they cancelled the camp.
Heartbreaking news for my son and the many other kids and families out there who signed up this camp with high hopes. As I have since discovered, the same thing happened with other camps. To make it worse, they were still selling spaces to people after having cancelled the camp. This is all documented and will be part of the legal process.
For my part, I have decided to go through the European small claims process to try and get my money back. I have also filed a complaint with the Spanish consumer protection body.
It’s hard to believe given the shiny website, but the EBA is a scam. Maybe it was a legit organisation in the past, which is why some people have made supportive posts about their experiences years ago. But something has clearly happened and these people can no longer be trusted. I would even go further and say that the organisers should be banned from running any business involving children.
There are dozens of angry families who are working together and extremely motivated to both get their money back and make these people pay for ruining the dreams of so many kids.

Dear Parents, this is my second review on Trustpilot about this Academy. The reference is made to the Europe Basketball Academy - we raise players SL in Vilanova i la Gentru. They are registered in Vilanova and London. They are not physically present at their official address in Vilanova, and the address in London is a box address for many companies.
The reason I've decided to make another review is that EBA continues to collect monies from parents who are placing children in the summer camps and then right before the start the camps are being cancelled. This happened to my son and many other kids whose program/camp ended on its second day (1 July 2022), and again to a number of kids whose camps were supposed to start on 15 August 2022. There are some parents whose camps were cancelled in previous years and no refunds are made so far. Currently parents are in touch with each other for a legal action. Scroll through the negative reviews to see the contact, join, obtain information. Please analyze the dates of reviews, you will see that from July 2022 onwards there are only 1star of 5star reviews. 5star reviews seem to be targeted at compromising the negative reviews which are true. Please be alert of names Srdjan Premovic - the EBA owner, Vladimir Mikic - the manager, Uros - staff member. Don't pay any money to EBA, it's a guaranteed loss. Check the contractual terms, no refunds can be claimed if not paid directly to the EBA account. During my contacts with Mikic, no official accounts were proposed for payments, I made the payment via myposdoteu links. Don't ruin your kids holidays!

I went there in the summer of 2017, I had a good experience

After reading the reviews from about to be attending Europe basketball academy i have officialy said no off these reviews cause it always says they invited people to rate them a 5 star and the 1 star reviews sound more accurate with exposing them and the 4 star pretty much exposed the whole program and so did the owners after the replies I would encourage people to do the same cause we don't if a scout is gonna come or they are going to cancel it with no refund back.
